This device uses Adreno 509,and not Adreno 512.CPU-Z may not be correct everytime.

No i check in every benchmark app it uses 512 lol

It is adreno 509. SD636 is the lower binning version of SD660, thus still using the same board platform. Some has said that asus intentionally leaving the build.prop or some GPU reading to adreno 512, so they can use set the higher setting in certain Game which detect available graphic quality based on GPU model. It is kinda like using GLTools from the beginning and set the GPU detection to adreno 512. PUBG maybe is one of them. In RN5P (or RN5 China), they only have the balance setting. But in Pro M1, there is HD + HFR setting (Ultra HD also available, but more framedrop). There are people who can get HD setting on RN5P, but they have to edit the game resource.

I too see that it's adreno 512 on my Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1.

Sony Xperia Z Graphics Chip and GPU question

Hello, i own the Sony xperia z mobile phone. I want to know how many cores or processors the GPU of the phone employs.
As far as i know, the phone has an Adreno 320 Graphics Processing Unit clocked at 400Mhz.
Also i think there are many version of the adreno 320 video chip but some people tell me there is only one.
So i would like more information about the GPU. I also want to know the amount of video ram or video memory or VRAM the graphics chip on this device has to store video memory or pixels/memory for images.
I know that some phones can use the RAM for storing images like a buffer or a cache memory instead of their own video memory using NOP tecchnology.
I know what vram is for. Its like ram but it holds the pictures or pixels info for the pictures the gpu is processing like the hard drive.
However, VRAM is used instead of ram or hard drive to make information processing faster.
So ram was made to store settings and temp data of programs so that they can have faster access.
So just like that there is vram and it may also be on the same chip of the GPU for the adreno 320 video chip.
So, basically i must know the amount of graphics cores or processor the GPU uses and also the amount of video memory it uses to store all of it's graphics or images.
Do you know the scalibility of this gpu and the max frame rate of the gpu. Also does it support open gl 3.0?
Thank you

redmi note 3 pro - it's newer, better hardware, snapdragon 650 (6 cores, gpu adreno 510 @ 600mhz, 64bit, better mobile support, 16mp camera, bigger battery - 4000 mah)
though don't get me wrong the snapdragon 801 that's in the MI note bamboo is nice but that cpu pretty outdated now, it's only 32bit, 4 cores, gpu adreno 330 @ 400mhz - and that cpu is a power hog, so I doubt a 3000mah battery would last long with that processor, it's known to run hot and be power hungry. -
I also have a device with the snapdragon 800, I can say the snapdragon 650 in the rn3p gives a much smoother web-browsing experience.

CPU of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs. CPU of Redmi Note 5 Pro

Hello everybody
I'm still using my Samsung Galaxy S5 but it's gotten too slow.
So I want a new phone. Not sure whether Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 or Redmi Note 5 Pro.
I did a comparison:
Chipset
S5: Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 80, Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400,Adreno 330
Redmi Note 4: Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625, Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53, Adreno 506
Redmi Note 5 Pro : Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636, Octa-core 1.8 GHz Kryo 260, Adreno 509
Why would anyone buy the Redmi Note 5 Pro with a slower CPU clock speed? Does the Kryo 260 have some other features which make it faster in the end? I couldn't find many details googeling for both of the CPUs.
Your advice is appreciated.
Have a nice day
SD636 scores higher in benchmarks and has better GPU
Snap 636 is quite far better than Snap 801/805 and Snap 625. We can also overclock it and still keep good battery life

Underclocked Snapdragon 660 or Overclocked Snapdragon 636 on Realme 2 Pro?

It looks like Newly launched Realme 2 Pro have a Underclocked QC SD 660 or Overclocked QC SD 636. I checked Mi A2 (SD 660) , Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 ( SD 636) and Realme 2 Pro ( SD660) in CPU-Z and AIDA64 Apps.

Do not fully trust the information provided in 3rd party apps or other websites. Please refer official websites of each particular phone to get the TRUE and CORRECT information about the processors used in them and the clock speeds that they are set to.
The SD660 used in Realme 2 Pro has a ( Original ) clock speed of 2.2 Ghz when Qualcomm makes that chip but the OEM ( Phone Manufacturer ) can tweak and change the clock speeds of the chip as per their strategy when using it in any phone.
For Realme 2 Pro the manufacturer Realme Mobiles has decided to clock the SD660 processor at 2 Ghz. That can be for various reasons depending on Software Optimizations, Battery Optimizations, Or maybe Just for No Reason :silly:
The point is, for an average user or for any user for that matter, it does not matter much. Plus there is a dedicated Artificial Intelligence Engine ( AIE ) which is not present in SD636.
Nowadays the term "Artificial Intelligence" is so wrongly used by every phone manufacturer to promote and sell their new phones to people who do not have any idea about AI in a smartphone. Fact is, there are only FEW countable chips in this world who ACTUALLY have a dedicated AI Engine in them and SD660 which is used in Realme 2 Pro has that Real AI in it.
So....
fully working poco f1 with all bootloader unlocking this that everything
For me the real benefit of SD660 over SD636 is the GPU, which is about 30% faster and that matters A LOT.

Right. GPU is a very important aspect in todays world where we have high end graphics games and apps. And even slight upgrade in GPU makes a notable difference :good:
Hi,
Then Whats the idea about NPU chip in coming new chipset series? Are they both same or is there any big difference?
Thanks!

Is it possible to replace the wifi card to have one with 802.11ac wifi?

Hi
Would anyone know if it is possible to replace the wifi card of an Asus Zenphone Pro M1 (X00TDB) to have one with 802.11ac wifi?
Indeed, I read that its CPU is compatible with this wifi standard:
Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform | Qualcomm
The Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform is a powerful processor for high-tier smartphones, with advanced photography and gaming capabilities.
www.qualcomm.com
If so, does anyone know a good tutorial for this?
Also, would it be possible to tune up the camera (apparently the Snapdragon 636 supports up to 24Mp (although 16 is already nice I guess).
Thanks!
