Hi all,
I have the JVC for few month now and never had the chance to try mirrorlink before.
When i heard the lollipop upgrade will have it, i was all exited...
I activated the MirrorLink option on my phone settings and connected the phone via dedicated MirrorLink usb in my JVC system.
After few seconds of "connecting" message, i got a "USB Communication Error"
Did someone had this problem before (Don't matter which devices, i mean with MirrorLink)?
Any ideas?
Do we have some MirrorLink experts here who can tell me how it works?

Do you have the software installed? I would also remind you that questions are posted in the Q&A thread not general ( a mod might slap you a little and move this)

I installed SlightROM (lollipop based) on my SGS5 w8 the other day and got the same error message when I enabled MirrorLink and connected to my JVC NSX1. I think the JVC unit will probably need a firmware update before it will work with the SGS5 running 5.0.

I wish to root it, but haven't found any explanation to do it, and don't know exactly the model of the CPU (0:30 in the video on Xtrons website, sorry but I'm not able to put the address).
Does somebody have a idea ?

I recently bought an XTRONS D714A, Android 4. Kingroot worked, Towelroot not.

Thank's for your reply, but after trying Kingroot, I got a message saying that this model (AC83XX) was not supported.
what a pity. I thought they are not very different.
What do you try next? Flash a custom firmware?

I don't think I will try a custom firmware, it seems difficult to find a root for this model, then a firmware it will be worse

I'm thinking of buying this head unit, what's your opinion of it?
Any flaws/downsides that you have discovered yet?
Can you post some more information about it, to go with the processor that you have found out? 'About device' etc.
It is a very good car radio, chip is the RK3188. Working flawless.
MCU says LM-AND841...
If you google it, there is almost nothing to find about that.
So I do not know if I should try to flash a custom firmware.
And I can not get into recovery, only the lying Android with a red triangle and a "!" appears.
I don´t know if this has something to do with rooting.
TWRP or CWM can not be installed, device unknown.
So I even do not know how to flash a CFW.
vingtsept, can you try if you can get into recovery mode? Thanks in advance.

Do you know the "universal root for Rena3"? Maybe its worth a try? Worked with another Android-car-radio I had, but a bit older. Probably not the right thing...

I will stop my recherch for the moment, this model seems to be unknow by root apk.
At BlackSprint, Xtrons models are pleasant to use, very fast to start (more than the original car stereo !) and reagent.
But if you want a model who's can be rootable, it can be a better idea to choose another model than the TD695AB.
For exemple the XTRONS D714A like x_rainer_x (single DIN), or the Xtrons TD696A (double DIN) , which seems him to be rootable (thing to check).
At x_rainer_x, I have also try some key combinaison, but impossible to find how go to the recovery mode

Thanks for your help with this (and x_rainer_x too)
I was looking at the TD695AB because it was Quad Core on Android 4.4 and has all the features that I want, although finding out that it's not an MTCB/D unit is a disappointment.
The TD696A looks very nice but it has no front facing USB or SD slots and no 'hard' buttons, its also 50% again more expensive.
I think my other alternative is the TD618AS, it has a slightly smaller screen but is 1024 by 600; a higher resolution but an odd 'squashed' aspect ratio which I'll have to think about.
There are plenty of reports on here of MTCD units not going so well with Android 5.1 so I have reservations about it but at least I'll be able to put other ROMs on it to resolve some of the issues.
. . . . And I thought I had come to a decision, looks like more research & thinking ahead of me

I need to root it, i can but i it fails i need original rom file. I can't find model number, manufacturer etc. I can't connect to OBDLINK MX. it doesn't have a fixed password and system's bluetooh menu disabled.
I need rom, please. If I broke it while trying root, there is no dealer in my city.

I'm from Portugal, i have two head units Quad Core AllWinner T3 P3 - ROM 16GB - DDR3 2GB - 1024x600 with DVD for Audi A4
one is mine and the other one is my uncle. Last year my head unit crashed and Android always worked but MCU file didn't, this way and didn't had sound, radio, music player, etc.
I contacted the ebay dealer and he was helpfull and sent me the mcu and android files for update, I managed to update successfully and my unit is working fine till now.
Now my problem is with my uncles headunit that crashed like mine, this is unit is equal to mine (system, board, design, firmware and mcu were the same.
Like mine i immediately prepared the sdcard to upgrade with mcu-201901100001KC1-0908.img but when I insert the sdcard in the unit it recognize the sdcard but doesn't enter the upgrade menu... I also tried usb method but it's the same, i tried to change to *.bin, *.udp, *.upd but unsuccessful..
I tried dealer again but I'm in Portugal and they just answer between 2.am and 5.am from Portugal and this is Urgent...
Anyone can help me please??
