Is there a solution to the Tmobile voicemail problems with oreo? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Myself and many others had properly working voicemail and the upgrade to Oreo broke this functionality. There are multiple threads on the Oneplus website and it's being ignored!

Marshmallow and AT&T-resolved

Below is a quote from another forum:
"If you do the marshmallow update on the Idiot 3, and you have AT&T, you will lose any data connectivity through AT&T. You can use WIFI, and make calls, just no internet on AT&T. They admitted they caused a problem with the update, when I called in to support, but their only potential solution is to do a complete factory reset. That's their solution to any software problem they caused. Been dealing with this since last August. No more."
Is anyone here having this problem? I have not upgraded yet - waiting to see what problems people are having if any.
I know I posted this in the main marshmallow thread but it kinda got lost in there.
Update:
Turns out the same person I quoted above posted on yet another forum that it was the APN settings and resolved the problem.
Edit your title thread and add [RESOLVED]

LG V20 4G not functioning on some of the applications

My LG V20 has some issues on 4G, it connect to Google and WhatAapp while on 4G.
When using WiFi:
No problems
When using 4G:
-cannot connect to Google
-most of the time cannot receive and send messages on WhatsApp
-sometimes can receive but not send
Anyone else has this issue or knowing how to solve it?
I have noticed this on 4G as well, every once in a while. not sure what its about. Mine is a H990DS , dual sim variant. maybe a software update will fix it. Come to think of it, i think after the latest update i got a few days ago it hasnt happened.
Had the same issue with some apps in the past.
They seemed to fix on there own or had app updates issued which fixed them.
Go to Google play and see if there are updates
I have the same issue as well. Please update me if there is a solution to it.

LineageOS 14.1: Delay in receiving SMS (Ting/Sprint)

Running LOS 14.1 (10/16 build). I'm using a CDMA SIM with Ting (a Sprint MNVO). Incoming texts are really delayed, sometimes by several days, and may randomly appear if I make an outgoing text or get an incoming voice call. Happens with texts from TMo and Verizon users for sure, not sure about other carriers. Using the stock Messaging app, v 1.0.001. Also tried using Android Messages from the play store, didn't make any difference.
I'm downloading (at about 50k/sec so it's taking several hours) the update to the latest LOS, but I'm just wondering if anyone has ideas I can try before that? I've already done an update Profile and update config.

T-Mobile/Oreo Roms

Any Oreo ROM I've tried recently I can't get volte/WiFi calling to work to activate. I'm using metro PCS and the trick on nougat ROMs to get it to work properly every time is to just delete the metro APN and use the T-Mobile one. Why this works, idk. I know it CAN work on Oreo ROMs because it did in earlier builds but I've abandoned all hope because it just won't work anymore.
Unfortunately at home I have little to no edge/3G for calling so I rely on volte/WiFi. I don't make much calls anyway so it's not too important but I'm wondering if anybody has a clue what the issue is? I'd like to be back on Oreo with all the progress that's been made.

Can't enable native Visual Voicemail with T-Mobile

This is the case on LineageOS 16.0, OOS, and H2OS (the latter two the latest versions as of a few weeks ago). The Voicemail tab under Phone reports it can't activate visual voicemail. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
Troubleshooting tried to no avail:
Spamming "Try Again" under the Voicemail tab
Toggling Visual Voicemail from Voicemail settings
Trying various WiFi APs and cellular
Changing Radio Band from Phone info to any other region
Putting the SIM into an iPhone for a minute, and then putting it back in the OP5
Installing the actual T-Mobile VVM app and then removing it
Other info:
This SIM was used in an iPhone SE, a Pixel XL, and then this OP5
I don't recall if VVM worked on the Pixel XL, but it definitely worked on the iPhone
My phone number is de-registered from Facetime/iMessage on Apple's end
IMS registration and both VoLTE and VoWIFI work fine
According to a T-Mobile tech support rep, this is a known issue for many (most) android devices.
Having the same issue. It's a new one (within past couple weeks) that possibly coincides with the super spammy texts I keep getting from T-Mobile telling me there's a new version of the Visual Voicemail app. Could possibly be something on their end.
I had a similar problem getting mine to work. Turns out when I tried Youmail it changed settings on my line. To correct it, within the Youmail app there was a way to deactivate it. That caused it to send three different codes through the dialer. When it was done i was able to use the tmo visual voicemail again
