Hey Guys,
I've been trying to understand why in all the JellyBean ROM that I've encountered so far there is an error message: "unzip: zip flags 1 and 8 are not supported" when I try viewing the archive in Fedora 17, or even in BusyBox, natively on the phone itself.
The ZIPs install correctly from the Recovery.
I've tried extracting it with WinRAR on windows, but after re-packing the archive and installing the newly created ROM ZIP the phone hangs. I didn't change anything at all, only extracted the original ZIP ROM and repacked.
The ROM that I've used: http://tinyw.in/YMJG
If anybody could shed some light on this I'd be really greatful
Try 7zip instead of winRAR as 7zip retains the file structure (you should use 7zip for all Cwm editing imo). I'm able to extract, modify, repackage and flash miuiandroid releases using 7zip and windows 8 (win7 will work too). Let me know how you get on!
Edit: I know you said the zip installs okay but you may want to check the md5 just to be safe

I want to install more roms with multirom, but if i go to google nexus official website for downloading android 4.3 for example for my Nexus 7 Nakasig, it downloads a .tgz file
inside that .tgz file there´s a .zip and other files.
If i just copy that .zip file into my nexus 7 , and try to install that rom using multirom, it fails.
what can i do? thx
it gives me this error:
Failed to find entry META-INF /com/google/android/updater-script in ZIP file THEFILEIUPLOADED

1) You are trying to flash a factory image with a custom recovery. Factory images can only be flashed with fastboot.
2) This is the forum for Nexus 7(2013) razor. You will probably find more help when the mods move this to the proper forum.
Moved to the correct forum.
I am trying to edit ROM with EFT Dongle and I added Google Play Store in ROM.
This ROM has LZ4 Compression files, so i extract them all and repack into .tar file as they were.
1. I download OpenGapps for Android Oreo 8.1.0 as per my device "arm" and unzip it.
2. I Edit "System.img.ext4" with EFT Dongle.
3. I Move every app to system/app, priv-app to priv-app and permissions to permissions
4. Now i Repack ROM and Flash it.
5. ROM Flashed Successfully and My phone get boot loop error.
Please Help me here what i am missing?
Note: It's my first time to Edit any ROM I tried alot of pack & repack tools but they didn't work for me. so i tried EFT Dongle to edit ROM.
I downloaded this ROM in this link , but when I try to install with TWRP (my version is 3.2.1-1) show this fail message "Invalid zip file format".
What I supposed to do?

invalided zip can mean all sorts of things
The zip is corrupted - download the zip file again
The zip is not meant for your phone
You have incorrectly edited the zip
The updater script is incorrect
The update binary is not for your phone
The zip is not a flashable zip - look inside and make sure there is a META-INF folder - if not its definitely not a flashable zip
First of all, you need to navigate to Total Commander, whichever file explorer that has root functionality and go to the root folder /data/ota_package to get the official stock rom. You also need root permissions to transfer this update file to the download folder so please refer to an Magisk installation page to properly flash in recovery. Push this .bin of the update after it downloads, cut and paste it to the downloads folder, rename the .bin of the .bin update file to .zip (Don't install the update in settings) then reboot into TWRP and flash it. I will provide the stock update image shortly for the latest version which is 6.2.7.1 on the Fire TV Stick 4K. This works on any Fire TV that's unable to update through the main ota page in settings. If you'd rather wait for a prerooted rom, go to @rbox for the latest updates. Thank you, let me know if there's any problems!
