I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005.
I only have this info about my phone that is written in the above line.. because I bought it in used condition, I don't know whether it is repaired or refurbished.. it was working fine on Android 5.0 (it had some Vodafone apps) then I tried to install 7.1.2 but it failed because I wiped out system before installing.. I gave it to a repairman who installed 4.4 on it and that was not working fine I again tried to install STOCK 5.0 on it through Odin but at last it failed and said "invalid ext4".. now my phone only says " Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
Now please please please tell me, what can I do.??? It's a serious problem for me

i have tried to pull out the battery and the sim card. it didn't work
i have tried reinstalling the stock firmware with odin3 v1.85
i have tried the same with samsung kies 3 it doesn't even recognise (sorry if mispelled) the device
please help
I would Odin flash a recovery and format everything on the phone before attempting to odin flash official firmware.
Make sure you are flashing the latest 4.4 that your carrier has released.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Just flash a 4.4.2 stock rom true Odin that is for you device.
So originally I had 5.0 stock firmware that was updated through Samsung Kies.
Then I started using Samsung SmartSwitch (new Kies) and it told me I had a new update. I tried installing it and it failed.
So phone was stuck and error message showed ".. update failed .." and so on.
I decided to put the phone in download mode and flash the stock firmware via Odin but no matter what I try, everything fails.
As of right now, I've read and tried multiple things. Like this:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/help/wont-past-s5-powered-android-screen-t3225682
When I go to download mode on the phone, here is what reads on the top left:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G900V
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
REACTIVATION LOCK(KK): OFF
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)
RP SWREV: S1, T2, A1, A2, P1
SECURE DOWNLOAD : ENABLE
UDC START
The following guide shows very good instructions with all the files but I am unsure of which version I should be using or even the file for that version since there are SOO MANY files there. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784880
A little detail answer would really be appreciated.
Thank you!!

were you already rooted? if not then you cant downgrade due to the bootloader being locked
Hi everyone
I have taken interest in Max Lee's YouTube video on getting the Galaxy S7 Edge on your Galaxy Note 4.
As such I have decided to finally root my Note 4 N910F which is currently running on the latest Marshmallow update received in South Africa less than a month ago.
I have tried to follow the instructions of Max Lee but fail as follows:
I have downloaded the latest Odin program: v 3.11.1, SuperSU v 2.74, the samsung usb driver pack (which I already had installed on my laptop) and twrp 3.0.2 (the .tar file)
I then switched my phone off and on again in download mode.
I then opened Odin, clicked on AP and selected the .tar file, connected my phone and after seeing the blue colour in the COM box I clicked on start. A few messages popped up in the log and the bar read RECOVERY. Thereafter the bar went red and said failed. The bar on my phone had moved approx 1% and froze. I removed the battery and restarted the phone back to normal and so it was.
Later I read in one of the queries that unticking the Reactivation Lock box under Settings>Security, I would be able to. I followed the same steps but this time the bar on my phone filled up approx 99% when Odin once again said FAIL.
I tried numerous times thereafter but of no help. Currently in download mode my Knox version is still 0x0 and other things mentioned in download mode are as folllows:
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-N910F
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
REACTIVATION LOCK: OFF
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)

Can you guys please guide me so that I can successfully root my device and be able to install this Dr Ketan's ROM as displayed in Max Lee's YouTube video for gettign the Galaxy S7 on the Galaxy Note 4
Thanks a million guys
Hi all,
I have tried almost everything to bypass my old device.
I have used Odin with TWRP, and it says its FRP locked.
As soon as the screen comes on(no matter what key combo I press) this is what I see:
ODIN MODE (MULTI CORE DOWNLOAD)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G361F
CURRENT BINARY:Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
FRP LOCK: ON
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
Secure Download : Enabled
RP SWREV: S1, L1, M1
Underneath there is a message: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.
I have tried Kies (all versions), I have used the .tar files in odin on the AP tab but I get a prompt that it's FRP locked (in green text) along with the message above. I cant get into the download modeof the phone. Is there any way around this? Probably not but worth a shot in the dark.
Appreciate it if you can find a solution.

SAME. Did you fix it somehow?
I tried downloading at least 10 different firmwares from the latest to the original 5.1.1 that was installed on the phone. Either odin freezes or they are corrupted. Is there any hope?
THe short story: Root was a success. Tried to open snapchat, read the whole story on that. Decided lets get the xposed framework. After going through the hassels TWRP and CWM wouldn't let me flash (ready for the stupidness on my part?) so I found another tool that would let me flash (this https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3180960) and wellI ended up with the downloading screen. It all looks normal here is what it says

I tried using keis firmware upgrade I type in the model and serial but it tells me" the model information that you have entered cannot be verified; the device initialization cannot proceed" there is a space after the main s/n and then a wx but if i try it with or without the space at the end it fails to accept it.
On a totally separate note if i were to buy another phone, could I root that phone remove the bloatware, unroot the phone. Snapchat should work properly then right?
Is it possible to have a brand new phone, copy the firmware from it
on the corrupt phone erase it completely and flash the firmware from the new phone onto it (basically a clone)?
What are terms I would look up to accomplish such a task if it is possible? Or even a guide?
