Hello!
The phone was dropped and the touchscreen is dead, the display is OK.
You can turn the phone on or off using the physical buttons.
When you turn it on it asks for the pin code but it is impossible to input.
Is it any way of recovering the data, pictures, etc?

Hello. I think you have exactly my issue and your back light of screen stay off. You can see what is in your screen if you expose it to sun light or a powerful source light like the flash light from other phone. You can try access your phone in this way and move your level brightness to a lower percent. On my phone is working under 40% and back light display turns ON and stay ON . Don't forget to uncheck automatically brightness option.
If there somebody which can help us to solve this issue ??.
My suspicion is about proximity sensor . I ordered one and tomorrow i will replacing it with a new one. I'm very curios if this will be a good try.

If you have an USB adapter you can connect a mouse through OTG.

My Atrix's screen randomly stopped displaying anything. You can see that the backlight turns on and off but nothing ever displays. The screen isn't physically damaged and the touch sensor is also functioning just fine. If I plug it into my Lapdock - I can use the phone with no issues, I'll just never get any sort of display on the cellphone's screen (Outputs to Lapdock's screen just fine).
Any ideas or suggestions?
are you able to adjust screen settings when you're on lapdock? (and does this change anything?)
It does sound a hardware issue with your screen... maybe others on here can offer more help
Just tried playing around with the settings - no luck
Do you think maybe the display cable somehow disconnected? I'm not sure how the Atrix is designed but I think you'd normally have a separate cable for backlight, touch, and display. Maybe I'll try disassembling it and report back.
Hi everyone,
My phone display is not waking up by double tap or by power button and hence i'm not able to use the phone. Rest of the phone is working fine.
I'll be grateful if somebody could help me out on this issue. Thanks in advance.
Same is the case with me. I was asked to try resetting any changes made in the Performance menu. Try it, this may help.

Please explain more clearly-
If your phone is not waking up by double tap or by power button, does it wake up on an incoming call ?
How can you say that rest of the phone is working fine ?
YUREKA YU screen blacked out after reducing brightness
My phone display is blacked out after i reduced the brightness bar... can anyone help how to enable the screen
Flash a torch at tip of the phone near the sensor....then you have to be quick to increase the brightness
As someone reported, if you enable automatic brightness and color correction and reduce the brightness to the lowest, the screen would switch off forever. The only way back is a factory reset or restoring an backup.
just managed to fix this
I was in a real hurry yesterday and must have accidentally set brightness to all 0. And then bam..black screen
here's how i fixed it.
Downloaded this: http://droid-at-screen.ribomation.com/installation/
This mirrors the phone screen on pc using the jar file. Needs adb debugging to be enabled and accessible from pc.
Doesnt allow you do send touch inputs though.
Probably other solutions exist, like miracast etc. But the above app was my first try and it worked.
I kept my super awesome OPO next to the yureka, as a reference for screen position.
looking at the yu screen on pc, i activated, logged in to the phone, and then pushed my brightness up. All on a blank display. Also doing the same in parallel on the OPO, for reference point.
And, the yu screen lit up.
(if not this, may have to edit some system files, but didnt work in my trials..or backup device and then factory resent and then restore back)
How to fix screen goes dark after manually setting brightness zero
Almost all users are facing this issue. If you manually move the brightness slider to low (extreme left) the screen goes completely dark. You will not be able to see the screen. I tried it but kept the finger on the slider at all time so that I could move the slider and get the right screen brightness.
If you had manually changed the brightness to low and removed your finger from the slider. You sure are looking at a blank screen though the phone is still active. To fix it you will need to blindly follow these instructions. Your phone screen is dark, you will not see anything, unlock the phone (hope you are using swipe to unblock). Once done use two fingers to swipe from top screen to bottom. Note you will still see a blank screen, now tap and hold the finger in the center screen a slightly above the volume down button line – that is where the brightness slider is. If you don’t see the screen lighting up, tap again around the same area, you will get.
ok

This was the exact problem I faced rather than as mentioned every where fix for
Proximity sensor .Tourch solution is the quickest one to resolve it.
In my case I used another smart phone to put light on yureka just there where microphone or message notification led is there.Miraculously it works yureka reflect back then
You bring back normal brightness.Explaining this as original and was too short to
Comprehend easily.

Though this issue may have been solved , the problem mostly is the proximity sensor setting. In dialer, dial *#*#7769#*#*.
This is the setting/calibration window. Press start and keep your ear to the sensor. Remember the value and press exit. Mine was 49.

So my wifes screen on her Samsung Note 3 is completely smashed, and I believe the digitizer is too as the screen does not respond either. the phone turns on as the buttons has lights and I also get a heptic feedback when I hold down the power button on the phone to turn it on.
I need the the photos, photos were not backed up, not on the SD, and USB Debuggin I believe was off. I tried to connect the phone to 3 different PCs and with different cables, but the pcs do not allow me to see the phones camera folder.
replacing the screen would cost more than the phone cost, and the phone is anyway only being used as a second phone so don't want to shed out that much money.
QUESTION:
I have another Samsung Note 3, so my question was, can I take the screen and digitizer from that one and put it on the broken one and then get the photos and then swap the screen and digitizer back?
Also at work we have a Cellebrite device, but when I tried to extract all the data out of the phone with that, the device asked me to press on "allow this computer" on the phone, but as the screen is broken I can't do this :/
I would really appreciate if anyone can shed some light! thanks guys

Yes I believe it is possible to do such a thing as long as you are prepared to spend enough time on this. Look on YouTube and ifixit and the internet for screen replacement videos and guides and instead of replacing with new screen use the guide to put that other good note 3 screen on your broken one, then use the same guide again to disassemble it and then do as you please by either leaving the broken screen phone or putting the broken screen back into the phone. So yes it is possible but be careful and look at guides carefully.

I went to the Moto app and turned off the ambient display and I've noticed that for the past 12 hours my screen hasn't been lighting up anytime I jiggle the phone
That's basically what it's supposed to do. The screen will turn on and display the clock and notifications whenever you pick it up. It'll turn off once you put it back down.
i realize that but it was causing my screen to turn on when i wouldnt be touching it or when it was in the dashboard holster.

That's because it relies on the gyro to detect when you're lifting up the phone. Sometimes, when you unintentionally move the phone, the gyro triggers the ambient display.
Its not a perfect system, and a lot of work needs to go into it, but for most users its fine. Best part? You can turn it off if you don't like it.
Cheers.

you dont say...
I bought a used V20 with a defective screen. I change it, everything work for fine, but i notice a strange behaviour with the second screen.
The second screen is always on and i can unlock it by only touching the finger print sensor. BUT at night (or in the dark), the second screen turn off and i need to press 2 times on the power button to wake the phone.
The Knock On feature doesn't work too in the dark.
The light sensor seems to work correctly.
I would love to post a video but i can't......
This is an issue or it is normal ??
Thanks for your help !
Sounds like Doze.
I don't find anything related to Doze or "standby" about this screen.
check "daily timeout" on Show when main screen off. Seem u turn this function on at night

Sounds like there is an issue with the proximity sensor (not light sensor).
It's setup to turn the second screen off as well as disable knock on if the phone is in your pocket. Even during daylight hours if you put your finger within an inch of the sensor when the main screen is off, it should trigger it.
It seems your sensor may just be messed up.

There are a few apps on the play store you can try to fix it if you are rooted. You could also try a sensor app to see if the proximity sensor is showing feedback properly although you might need to be rooted for the apps to show the proximity sensor properly (not sure). My note 4 had a hardware test in the service menu not sure how to do it on V20 though.
Same Issue
Edit: Resolved the issue. Please read this post. There is a small rubber gasket-type thing that sits in the hole of the phone's frame where the proximity sensor is positioned. That rubber gasket was not included with my replacement screen. I pulled the rubber piece out of my original, broken screen, and installed it into my replacement screen. I am no longer having issues with the phone in the dark.
I am experiencing the same issue. I have a T-Mobile LG v20 (H918) and I cracked the screen last week. I ordered a replacement LCD assembly and installed it myself. Everything works fine during the day or in a well lit room, but at night, in a dark room, I experience all of the issues you are reporting. I am finding other posts online with our same issue, but as of yet, no resolution.
Even though the second screen is set to always be on, at night, in a dark room, it turns off almost immediately after locking the phone. It is almost as if the phone is in a "deep sleep" or something, because the following also occurs:
Knock On will not wake the phone
Fingerprint sensor will not wake the phone
Even connecting to the phone via AirDroid / AirMirror the phone doesn't wake
Need to press the power button multiple times to wake phone
Providing a light source immediately turns on second screen and resolves all issues
