Hi guys,
I've been searching all over the show but can't seem to find leaked Nougat firmware for my device :/ it's a C183 released in New Zealand. Anyone know if there was actually firmware leaked for the C183 region?
cheers

I purchased the 2 degrees stock firmware for NXT-L09_C183B130_Firmware_New Zealand_Brightstar NZ Limited_Andriod 6.0_EMUI 4.0_05013NLM
Link is here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3pCekrpvWeaNk5meFMtR1dadms/view?usp=sharing
I have that version, I updated to B330 and my cust get broke (C900), but the system with EMUI 4.1 works fine, I tried to update to nougat but the system does not allow with C605 and C432. Maybe with other version work the update.
Yeah I also purchased through 2degrees. Unfortunately it seems firmware for this region hasn't been released still... I was expecting an update back in Feb. Frustrating.
Iv'e still seen nothing
I remember when I was using the Mate2, there were countless debates if/when LL5 was going to be released.
Huawei stated by the first half of 2015. It was released I think it was JUNE 30TH...the "last" day of the first
half of 2015.
If that holds true this time, then they announced Nougat 7 for the Mate 8, "by the end of the 1st quarter of 2017"
would mean...by March 31st. Just something to think about.
Personally, I'm holding off. I can wait. I use a BT headset for the phone, and use it A LOT. The past 4 phones I've
had, I've never used it by holding the phone to my ear, only through the headset. I've seen scattered reports of
issues (not just the Huawei phones), of glitches with bluetooth on nougat.
Marshmellow for me, on the mate8 is VERY stable, so it's a choice. If you gotta have the latest/greatest, there are
sources you can find to download it, but, if you want stable, you might want to wait a while.

Nope still no sign of c183 nougart firmware and now it's may. I am beginning to believe that Huawei are not going to release firmware for this region. It may be potentially due to the poor sales of the device in the region. Who knows. I have not been able to find a single other firmware variant that will flash to the phone. It's disappointing that we've been let down like this with it being a flagship device.
Does anyone have the backup of the cust for this region firmware? I will Rollback my update from 330 (Where I lost my cust), and I will try to change the region, Does anyone tried to change the region to get updates?

these were taken from partition backup manager a few months ago ...these are from NZ L09-C183B150 EMUI 4.0
I have managed to upgrade to Nougat EMUI 5 using firmware finder without root or unlocking boot loader....following L29-636 Starting from file from B180 I didn't change cust but after first update it changed to L29 636 and has had no problems at all
The B585 is smooth and I have had no issues with batter drain or restarts at all...very happy with this after 3 weeks no problems at all.
The only issue was that after B330 which updated successfully, I did discover that my bootloader did get unlocked so I used DC Unlocker to re lock again which cost me 6 credits....now unrooted and bootloader locked.

This is not for the faint hearted , You need to make sure you have backups of oem.info and cust for for the NZ model.
Also have the NZ firmware update app if needed, here on my google drive....unzip and place extracted update.app onto your SDCARD in dload folder
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3pCekrpvWeaNk5meFMtR1dadms/view?usp=sharing
Using HCU Client read phone info take a a screen shot with repair UMTS with of your serial number, imei number, & sub imei, WIFI & bluetooth MAC vendor etc...store this on your PC because you may need these settings if you lose modem settings after unbricking from DC Phoenix
I then would recommend that you have DC Phoenix on stand by and bookmark this link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/help/nxt-c900b180-to-nxt-l29c432b330-easily-t3611500 even though its for 432 it will still get you unbricked if it all goes sour.
Now....just to clarify I was on stock firmware L09C185B130 same as your model (shared from link above)with locked bootloader and no root make sure you have developer mode enabled and OEM unlock enabled.
If any of the above is confusing then I would recommend that you go no further.
1st Install Firmware finder and and Firmware finder proxy. enable proxy port in wifi settings ie localhost port 8080
2nd Open FF go to settings and enable USE PROXY TO INSTALL disable SHOW PACKAGES FROM CURRENT REGION
3rd Open go back to FF start and type in NXT-L09636 and click search go to the first and lowest firmware which is B170 download and then install via proxy thru normal update it will show up in Phone settings system update if it doesn't then go back into FF settings and tell it to use proxy to install and then push system update to detect.
This should install without any hitches but you will notice now your firmware will be c900b170
goto FF again and choose the next firmware which is 180 then 193 then 211 etc etc when you get to 330 you will have to trial and error which file will work, I started with the largest full OTA but I dont remember in the end which one worked I think I had 3 or 4 goes if it fails it will stop at 15% and then stop you will have to force reboot thru holding power key but it should boot to normal and then just try another firmware of the same number.
when you get to b330 you should find you have changed to L29636B330 but you will now have unlocked bootloader? not sure why? anyway....keep trial and error updates until you get to B585
Hope it works good luck

I change the region and the model to L29C636, thanks to Mickie's helps, my steps:
1. I install the B330, wich a get from the Firmware official thread, and I used the 3 button method.
2. With SRK Tool, unlok the bootloader and get root .
3. Again with SKR Tool, change the region, (Change oeminfo and custom bin) to Asia (C636) and model (L29).
4. Donwload and Install the L29C636B330 (3 button method), I have to make a Factory Reset, with this firmware I lost the root and get locked the bootloader.
5. When I start normally, automatically get the update by OTA to L29C636B563.

Hello to all,
I have a smartphone Huawei P9 Lite version VNS-L21 with firmware version VNS-L21c432b160
Following the update of the firmware, the phone when it is idle or while using or telephoning, randomly restarts without any errors.
I tried to perform a reset to factory conditions, but nothing done.
Now I wanted to completely reinstall the firmware via SD Card, but I noticed that there is also the version of the B161 firmware.
The problem is that by the Updater app, this update B161 does not appear to me!
Able to make the manual flash version of the B161 or if there is some reason why appears in updater app
Obviously I do not intend to lose the guarantee.
Sorry for my bad english
I look forward to your advice
If you are on VNS-L21c432b160, update via OTA to VNS-L21c432b161 is not going to happened...
I think if you wait for OTA, next update for you is B170...
You cand make a manual update to B161, update will going ok,
but you will find out that firmware version will not change, remain B160...
In my case is tested from B130 to B131, from B150 to B151 and from B160 to B161.
Update proceed without error, but firmware version not change...

then, should I reinstall the firmware B160?
If the problem occurs again what can I do to try to understand the problem?
The phone has also restarted after resetting to factory conditions, without installing other apps.
the problem is that Random happen, it does frequently
Try with C432B130 firmware as reference.
Those symptoms unknown for me and i make many flashes/reflashes with different versions and
i din not experience even a single random restart of phone...
I suspect a hardware problem...
Can I install an older version of the firmware without losing the warranty with completely stock phone? If possible ... Where do I find the firmware? Thank you
Updating up/down with stock firmware's not affects warranty...

Keep in mind: every time when make updating on your phone, something can make wrong and you can brick your phone.
I just got the US version of the Xperia XZ and I was attempting to get the fingerprint sensor to work by flashing with Flashtool and Xperiafirm. I managed to get it to work, but the process is slightly different from what we have here it other threads.
With the update to 7.0, all the customized versions of the firmware in Xperifirm have been updated to 7.0, which flashtool does not support atm. To get around this and enable the fingerprint sensor I used these steps: (at least until Flashtool is updated)
Process Steps:
backup your phone! You will lose everything on it with the flash
Find and download MM .ftf file for your phone. I used Centralized Europe, but you can use Italian or UK. These can be found using google, or PM and I'll send you a link
Make sure you install the flashtool drivers properly. This means Disable driver signature enforcement. Then do the install so they can install correctly.
Once installed power your phone off and while you hold down the down volume key, plug it into the computer.
Open Flashtool and click the lightning bolt and start the flash.
Once flash is complete, reboot phone and verify that the Fingerprint Sensor is actually working
Using built in software updater (OTA) update to 7.0
If you do this correctly everything should work smoothly.
Be Sure to use the latest version of Flashtool!
Flashtool began to support Nougat as of yesterday: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/how-to/flashtool-supports-nougat-t3523322

Flashtool should work with the latest nougat .FTF. I believe the one it was shipped with is the customized US firmware on xperifirm. Just use that if you want to go back to stock.
Edit: I worked out my issues, I'll leave this here in case others have similar trouble:
I needed to manually add in the RAW F53XX files from the github (https://github.com/Androxyde/devices/tree/master/F53XX), this allowed Flashtool to correctly detect the type of phone and apply the fsc. I was then able to flash my desired firmware, I chose the 6.0.1 release for Journalists to begin with as a test. This confirmed my suspicion that it was a software update issue causing the proximity sensor to malfunction (stuck on) and also fixed up the FACTORY STARTUP SERVICE-POWER OFF bug and the Warrantytimeservice permanent notification. I can now look at updating to later versions of Android and find the latest version before I have issues again.
---
tl;dr - I need a guide that actually works on downgrading the F5321 to a specific stock Android version with a locked bootloader.
I recently received a new, old stock version of the X Compact (F5321) that appears to be a HK variant as it started up with the Chinese language selected.
It was initially stock Android 6.0.1 with no apparent problems. After OTA updating all the way through to 7.1.x and onward to the latest 8.0, I now receive the "FACTORY STARTUP SERVICE" problem. Even if I'm quick enough to disable the service for the service flag, the proximity sensor does not work as well after updating, making phone calls impossible. I believe the issue is all related to software, not hardware. I want to downgrade to 6.x and go from there before I have to send it back for another replacement.
I'm having trouble with getting Flashtool to correctly detect and identify the firmware files that I want to flash. I want a completely stock version of Android, so keeping the bootloader locked is fine for me.
After downloading the firmware that I want to try, XperiFirm will close and Flashtool will successfully build the FTF. After clicking the lightning bolt > flashmode > the firmware list is blank.
I'm using Flashtool 0.9.26 (I have tried older versions as well with the same problems) with driver signature enforcement disabled and correct drivers installed to detect the phone.
The last time I used Flashtool was to flash my older Z5 Compact, I didn't have any issues then and it was all done within 10 minutes. I've already spent more than 5 hours on this phone and would appreciate any help.
I seem to have the exact same problem with a Hong Kong-sourced X Compact. I am familiar with Flashtool, and have used it for basic flashing of firmware. This time, however, I am experiencing the dreaded "FACTORY STARTUP SERVICE" problem. Was wondering if Flashtool could be used to circumvent the problem. I simply want the USA Android 8.0 firmware on the phone. I am not familiar with the various options that Flashtool offers. I note that you mention a specific script(?) that can be installed. Do you have any advice? Thanks

The "FACTORY STARTUP SERVICE" and to a lesser extent, "Warrantytimeservice" problems surface only in the later version of Android. The only way I could remove them was by staying on 6.0.x only. Anything higher, and the problems show up again. It seems to be a byproduct of upgrading the HK variant that wasn't designed to actually be software upgraded - you won't be able to have the US 8.x firmware on the phone.
Sorry to say, but you'll be stuck on 6.0.x if you want a usable phone. I should mention that I was never able to maintain a newer firmware on that particular phone.
I've since sent the Compact X back (it was meant to be a gift) and replaced it with a Samsung A20.
h
I'm using SO-O2J and a sim card not docomo. Use the "Repair" in Xperia Companion and it auto flash Android 7.0

Hi guys!
Recently, one of the users of my app reported an issue with his Huawei P9 Lite VNS-L31C432B418. It's impossible to him to use my app, network calls are blocked in the app, the app won't connect to my backend endpoints for no reason. Logging is quite unclear, so it's hard to reproduce this issue.
Because of my dedication and urge to fix this issue, I ordered an Huawei P9 Lite on Amazon. (amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B01DYN5OLE) It got delivered today, installed my app and woosh... Everything was working fine. The phone came with VNS-L31C432B160/EMUI 4.1.3; but the user of my app is using P9 Lite VNS-L31C432B418/EMUI 5.0.4. Hitting the "check for updates" did not result in receiving any update (Thanks Huawei!) so I started looking around the internet. I prefer to use exactly the same build version because I want to reproduce this (hard) issue.
So far so good, I used Firmware Finder to incrementally update to VNS-L31C432B226. I'm quite new in these firmware-hacks and tried installing the VNS-L31C432B418 version, but I got stuck at the 5% progress indicator. Using Firmware Finder on my PC, it checked that I'm able to install versions with G 2190 and g 1789. These params do not tell that much for me... Currently, I'm stuck at VNS-L31C432B226 as this is the last one that has G 2190 and g 1789. All the other ones have G 190 and g 1755, are these for other devices as the one I have since I am not able to install these ones?
Someone who can help me in order to get VNS-L31C432B418? Is this even possible on my device?
Thanks in advance, kind regards
Joren

Hi Joren,

Hi, thanks for your reply! My device gotdelivered with version B172...
Today, I got an update to VNS-L31C432B228! This version is not visible in Firmware Finder... Any ideas how to update to Nougat?
Is it possible to force the update? I always get the message that the update is not compatible with my version.

Ok,
use the app, same method and choose B370 FULLOTA-MF-PV.
It's 1.99 gbyte - date 21/03/2017 - G 753 - g 104.
Into my PC version of FF i see (2) two versions, looks the same, try one or the other..
If you will succeed you can update to the latest firmware (B418)..

It seems to be the same URL for those two entries. Note that it's in fact a "downgrade", the "v" value is 80460. My device got delivered with B172 (which is also not found in FF), B173 is already 110304... Currently, B228 is also not visible in the list, B227 is 143951.

Unzipped "update.zip", copied it into dload folder on my SD card, *#*#2846579#*#* =, ProjectMenu -> Software Upgrade -> SDCard Upgrade ->OK
"Software install failed" "Incompatibility with current version. Please download the correct update package". Same story for the contents of the update_data_full_VNS-L31_hw_eu.zip.
I'd like to wipe the current firmware instead op updating/upgrading it, but I've already done lots of research, some docs are so outdated that they're not relevant anymore. Any clear steps on how to force install the version instead op upgrading it?

Thanks for your effort!
It seems to be the same URL for those two entries. Note that it's in fact a "downgrade", the "v" value is 80460. My device got delivered with B172 (which is also not found in FF), B173 is already 110304... Currently, B228 is also not visible in the list, B227 is 143951.

Dude, i'm here to help, at least for what i know...
I think i explained not so good...
You should use the app to upgrade not to download the firmware.
Take a look HERE, also some videos are on YT..
Just change the firmware with yours... :fingers-crossed:

Tried in the app, it told me that B370 "The firmware is not approved for installation". B418 is approved (FullOTA-MF), so:
- I've downloaded the firmware (3 files)
- Setup in-app proxy
- Change wifi proxy to localhost:8080
- Check for updates, update is available
- Switch back to wifi, disable proxy
- Download update
- Install
Same story, update is incompatible... So I think I'm still doing something wrong while changing the firmware instead of upgrading. For me, the tutorials are skipping essential steps. Or I might have received a f*cked up device. Why on earth is it so hard to update, thanks Huawei..

Are you choosing B370 fullota-mf-pv one ? (not B370 fullota-mf nor B370 ota)
Also now i see there a third B370 fullota-mf-pv with date 2017.08.03 - G 1258 - g 104..
If you don't upgrade to this version first,
you couldn't upgrade anyway to android 7
and then to latest version.
Come on try again...

Yup, but that one: "Most likely, the firmware was removed from the server".
The other ones with B370 are both telling "The firmware is not approved for installation".
I'm testing all the FullOTA-MF-PV's, they are all telling "The firmware is not approved for installation". Some of the "FullOTA-MF" do show the message that they are available. What's the difference between the "-PV"?

That version is used to upgrade to android 7 from 6.
Maybe the version you updated before (B226/B228) don't allow you to upgrade.
Downgrade to B160 and redo your steps..
How to do this ?
Download THIS FILE, extract update.app, create a folder and name it DLOAD.
Put update.app into that folder and put the folder into your SD card.
Turn off the device then reboot holding vol+ & vol- & power buttons together
until flashing starts then release them...

Done, thanks for those clear instructions, I do have B160 for now. The B370 is still resulting in "The firmware is not approved for installation"... :/

Yup, the device is the dual sim one, B371 also "The firmware is not approved for installation". It's really weird...
I'll try updating manually incrementally, so update by update the ones with G 1258 - g 104?

Back to B370,
skip the verify access firmware, go directly to 'get an update via dns',
tap ok, select 'auto' dns method and tap change dns.
VPN service should start...
Open settings > internal updater
and see if download come for you... check several times ...

I don't know what's wrong with this device.
I've downgraded my device to B160 (66015), tried upgrading to B370 80460, 80466, 80582, all with the same result: Incompatibility with current version. The only version I'm able to upgrade to is 80562, which is B210. From that point, Firmware Finder suggests that it should be possible to update to the B370 builds, but every time, "Incompatibility with current version".
The only B370 that I was not able to try is the one you're suggesting in your comment. That one gives a 404 so I'm not able to download that one (92405). Any other suggestions...?

Sorry dude have you tried skipping the firmware access ?
Could we have missed something in the procedure ?
If this doesn't work, try opening the FF app and from the main menu select 'instructions'.
Video and text guides will open. You can try the update with HiSuite
or with eRecovery or as a last resort you could try the one with a TWRP,
but for this you will have to unlock the bootloader and
it would cost you some time and an additional 4 € ...
Please Note: I have never upgraded from A6 to A7 with this device via twrp,
you do this at your own risk ...

With B160, install firmware finder on your phone.
Add model as VNS-L31C432
Settings > Show firmware for this region only and Show full OTAs only.
Check firmware approval one or two times. (Make sure you've provided phone permission for firmware finder)
Get an update via DNS and it'll turn on vpn.
Check for updates and download.
I can help you on teamviewer if you still can't make it work.
I think that the firmware I need is the one that returns a 404 when trying to download. I've already done successful firmware approval several times for builds that won't install after all. Only the fact that it's such a mess to get updates for this device makes me really frustrated. What if I was a "dummy" owner of this device? I should never be able to get the updates I'm looking for. It's just impossible without doing too much effort or rooting the device. For me it's really important to have the original firmware of Huawei and not a custom rom, because I have to investigate the issue of my app user, which is device-specific. How complicated can it be to provide a solid update platform. Huawei, please.
I've decided to ship this piece of sh*t back to Amazon. Ordered a second hand Huawei P9 Lite that has already the build VNS-L31C432B418. Thank you guys for all the effort in trying to help me getting Nougat on this device, unfortunately it seems to be impossible.
