Dата connection lost - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

hi everybody,
My Xiaomi MI A1 32GB lost data connection several times a day. I have only a visual notification - X symbol within signal strength bar(not above like should be in this case). This symbol in general is regarding roaming connectivity, but i am at my home network. When i enter in Settings and deactivate/activate the SIM, the data starts again. All the time i dial and answer the calls, it is only related to data connection in my home network.
Any idea how to fix it in other way, may be to install network signal booster app?
This is an Android 8.0 bug, not a phone one, right?
Regards,

I've had the same issue when using two SIMs. To fix the issue temporarily, I switched to flight mode for a few seconds, then it worked for a while.
Now I've switched of the second SIM card and since then the issue never happened again. So if you don't need two SIMs, I'd suggest to turn one SIM off temporarily till the problem is fixed. Maybe it is already fixed in the February update.

Help with Hero losing signal

Hello everyone.
Recently, my hero has been randomly loosing signal to my network provider. It seems that if I use the phone, it never looses any signal, but when I unlock the phone after a while, I see that it has no service. If from there I put the phone in airplane mode for a few seconds, and then turn airplane mode off, it generally catches the signal again. Also, if I scan for networks manually, I can see all the networks in my area, but I receive a message saying that my SIM card does not allow this connection.
Also, this has happened throughout a number of ROM's and Radio's, so it cannot be ROM specific.
Has anybody else got any tips or ideas as to why my signal is dropping? I can also post my logcat later today if it will help.
Thanks!
I have this problem .
I can not call or receive call.
Help us please ...
it can be your radio that might be causing the problem?
try updating your PRL
Thanks for the support guys. It turns out that my SIM card was actually kicking the bucket, and so I went into Virgin Mobile, and they replaced it in 5 minutes. So far, no problems...so it seems sorted.
Thanks anyway!

[Q] Nexus 4 loses network connection when enabling data over mobile network

Hi there,
my new Nexus 4 loses its network connection every time I enable data over mobile network. It's like a loop - I have to enter the PIN, then it searches for the network - some times it finds one and connects and then it loses it again. I tested this with two different micro sims from Hutchinson 3G Austria.
I also looked at the logcat output:
01-04 06:51:04.315 E/QMI_FW (173): QMUXD: Service_id=24 not found over conn_id=0
01-04 06:50:54.775 W/Netd (159): No subsystem found in netlink event

01-04 06:50:55.305 E/kickstart-efsks(8496): /dev/ttyUSB0 does not exist.

Should I return it, or do you think that this is a software issue?
You can also find a full logcat dump attached!
Thanks for your help,
Roman
I am having this issue also. I am on T-mobile network in US and 3G,4G data was working fine when I got the phone end of Nov and after a little over a week, there was data connectivity issues and it wouldn't have data connection at all but I can still make calls and text. I am testing now and when I turn on 2G only, there is reliable data connectivity and internet is back on but of course slow 2G speed and when I turn off 2G and go back to 3G,4G connection, data connection fails. I have tried everything from restarting phone, turning mobile data on/off, resetting APN to default and restarting phone but 3G/4G data is not working fine at all but if I switch on 2G, it works fine and I don't even need to restart phone. Now, when I test it with another service carrier micro sim from AT&T, it works flawlessly and fast on it's 4G speed without any disruption. Conclusion I have come up with is, there is definitely a 3G/4G data connectivity problem with T-mobile and my Nexus 4. Maybe T-mobile is updating 4G networks and there's connectivity issues with our devices and they don't even know it. Please let me know if anyone else is having this problem. Thanks
I have a similar issue. On screen wake up my device asks for SIM PIN code as if the device was either restarted or the sim card was unplugged/removed and reinserted again. This has happend five-seven times the last seven days.
I dont think the device has been restarting it self. I think that it loses signal and the device some how thinks that the sim pin is then required agian when it find the signal...
Verry strange.

ROM: CM 10.1
So you have signal issue and do you lose data? Today I did some more testing. I was at a another city about 70 miles from where I live and voila, I got 3G/4G data connection again, where as I wasn't getting at all where I live and I have switch to 2G data to even get data connection. So, there has to be 3G/4G network connectivity issues in certain places due to settings from carriers with our Nexus 4. I'm using T-mobile in the US. I called T-mobile and reported the issue and it will take about 3 days for their engineers to look into it. Are others having this issue?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread -- OP, if you're reading, did you ever figure out what the issue was? I'm having this exact issue as of a day or two ago.
It used to be my Nexus 4 would ask me to "sign into T-Mobile" every so often. Now it asks me constantly and when I do, it goes to a T-Mobile web page saying, "according to our records, you do not have data service." I called T-Mobile and they said everything looks OK on their end.
All I can do is phone and texts. No Google services (I needed the GPS this morning -- that was fun).
Reset from 10.1CM to default factory image, same thing.

Signal Drop and Related Question

Hello
I searched and searched for this issue and i can't seem to solve it on my N9005
The phone has the following behavior (controlled with GSM Signal Monitoring app):
While not touching the phone
Full or Medium Signal
Suddenly No Signal or Emergency Call only
After some seconds (or in some cases minutes) Full or Medium Signal again
This can happen several times within minutes or a few hours without happening
While trying to make a phone Call:
Full or Medium Signal
I press CALL
Immediately No Signal or Emergency Call only
Signal comes back
I press CALL
Immediately No Signal or Emergency Call only
This happened sometimes 5 times in a row, other times i can just make a call normally. Technichal support say they don't even have logs of the missed attempts.
What i did already:
Asked for second Sim card - same issue
Installed several TW Legit roms - same issue
Installed several CM12.1 roms - same issue
Imei is ok, EFS is ok (i think)
One strange thing i saw was that GSM Signal Monitoring only "Sees" me connected to one antenna.
When i placed my Sim card in another phone the app logs me always connected to 2 or 3 antennas at the same time.
Update 1: Also, something I just noticed, since this started happening I don't remember seeing the 3g symbol while browsing the internet. It's either edge, hspa or lte, never 3g, which was my usual connection speed.
Update 2: I inserted a different provider sim in my phone and it connects in umts
Update 3: my sim works without connection drops in a gsm only phone
Does anyone know what is going on? Thanks!
N9005 have very bad modem.....

4G issue

Hi all
The past 2 days I seem to be having an issue with intermittent 4G coverage...
It will connect to 4G but have a small X next to it in the top menu. I receive no internet however.
What does the X mean as I can't find the answer anywhere, and is it an issue with my phone or my service provider?
I am on EE UK and running 7.1.1 Beta NPF10C
I have restarted, turned on and off airplane mode, reset my APN to no avail.
Anything else you need to need to know I will provide
Thanks in advance
I have had the same problems occasionally & I think it's an EE fault. It basically means you have a 4G connection but no internet access. Toggling mobile data off, waiting a minute or two, and re-enabling seems to get a new connection.

S8 Signal Problem

Dears,
whenever I am on a call and then hang up or finish the call, I cannot surface the internet or even make a call after hanging up for a while. I can see that there are packets going to 4g but no reply "upward arrow but no downward arrow that is near 4G icon". It is sending data to 4g but not receiving any response and
also, after finishing the previous call I can not make a new call unless I switch on airplane mode and then switch off or restart my S8 to work normal again.
To revise and better understanding this issue:
1. the S8 works normal and can communicate to Internet and receives calls
2. the problems starts after ending a call, the S8 cannot communicate with the network for a while Internet and calls
3. temporary solution is to go to offline mode then online or restart the phone
4. then it will work fine "Boring Solution"
I am facing this weird problem since day1 with my samsung S8.
any advice?
No body has faced similar issue ?
I have no issues, on At&t.
I have no issues too. I roam a lot with data on. Different carriers within Asia. All ok.
Maybe try reset the carrier "access point names"?
Are you under power saving mode?
i got my S8 it worked fine in start (or i might have not noticed it) but then i observed it used to turn off sim cards (did not catch any signals) as i go out of 34 or 4g covered area. it did not work on 2g. i got i fixed from samsung care. and now i am having weak signal issue. Voila -_-. Going to get it fixed "AGAIN".
I have too signal problum internet and sim service. Very poor.. but when was i buy then it was perfect . After use 4 month its conditions make me very thankless. If any person who know about that issue plz help m
