so why its not a problem with nougat its so broken noisy with oreo

At Nokia Community a lot of people complaining about this issue. Same with my phone after official oreo update TA-1021.
Turning off Dolby Atmos seems to be a workaround. My Sound is back to normal for now after turn it off. I hope they will fix this issue soon...
I already did a factory reset from settings and from recovery. Nothing helps... Now waiting for a fix from Nokia.

its nothing to do with Dolby. Error is in somewhere else.

Had this bug on my TA-1033, but after a recent update it seems to be fixed for me
Build number is 00WW_5_22A if it helps.

Dolby atmos

the problem is still here with feb update oreo ta 1003

feb update ? if yes then we got feb update but no fix let me remind you the build number is 5_210_sp01 ta-1003

Ta 1021, EU. Before stable update oreo 8.0.0 I had android oreo beta (8.0.0 beta) from nokia beta labs. Everything, sound also, worked fine until feb update to stable ver. I think i'ts kind of bug...
Nougat = ok
Oreo beta =ok
Oreo stable = sound bug....
now the speakers are like a radio on the wrong frequency, have you guys too? And 1st level sound at multimedia is so loud.
I was afraid it was the fault of the speaker, maybe we have to wait for fix from Nokia.
Sorry for my english ;-p

ya it got a very serious bus... still i can hear a "humming sound"when I use earphones

Same problem here. Hasn't been solved as of April security patch. TA-1021.

It is necessary to edit the files inside the firmware. I just don't know what to edit.

I had the same problem with my TA-1021. I switched OFF Dolby and then ON again. The issue was resolved.

All the roms CM like are the same try aicp omni mokee and RR and see which you like more
Before I used stock rom Mauro 2.2, never get notification but the dev mentioned you can dial some number to fix it. Also tried stock 26S I got some notification.
For nougat I think AICP is best for battery/performance have all notification just small issue sometime the phone just freez see only black screen and can only press power for reboot.

Hi guys,
I have the same issue already since several months: I'm pretty sure it's OS version related, however, I did the dolby OFF as well hard reset of the phone but no progresses at all. The sounds keep coming only from the ear speaker, i mean where you place your ear during a call
The loudspeaker on the bottom edge of the phone seems completely dead: I tried few apps to verify the HW, but couldn't really found a reliable test.
As said, hard reset done and current OS version details:
Android Version 8.1.0
Security patch level 1 November 2018
Build number 00WW_5_580_SP08
Kernel Version 3.18.71-perf Tue Oct 16 16:48:35 CST 2018
Any additional action I could take?
Thanks,
Daniele

January security patch is here. Discuss bugs.

Received the January security patch today. Haven't found any bugs yet.
There are no new bugs for me as well but the current one remain like the cache one. But my phone's performance has definitely improved a lot. It's finally quick now and I have not experienced any lags since 2 days.

same here but i thought that's the normal behaviour
Unreliable data connection, after the latest update my phone has been dropping data connection constantly, especially when the screen is off. It could be my ISP, but it started right after the update, before it was working fine.
When will they fix the cpu the 4 core min freq is 1401 mhz it should be 633mhz. .need to restart the phone to fix it but after some time problem shows up again
When increasing or decreasing the volume sound, the window doesn't disappear automatically till I touch other part of the screen
Front flash not working
Emmc not fixed
Headphone volume not fixed
And some users facing bootloop after updating
So looks like the update is pretty good ?
---------- Post added at 12:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:49 PM ----------
@viniciusvm1 It wasn't working for me but clearing the data for camera app fixes the issue
Notifications suddenly going mute and doesn't work untill I restart the device. The ringer is not affected though. I have seen this bug right after attending a call, sometimes with bluetooth headset paired . ( Don't know if that's causing it, but everytime I encountered this was after a call.) It used to even happen earlier at times... Does anybody has a fix for this? Anybody esle experience this? Thanks in advance!

Do they really not test the update before releasing it?? This was very sloppy and unprofessional and I can't believe an Android One phone experienced something like this, since it's backed by "Google" and whatnot.
No wonder many of the bugs are still unfixed, this feels like the development team is probably made up of one or two developers who have 13 other projects in parallel.
Shame.

Even after releasing the 'January Update' at the end of the month, they had to stop the updates? Damn. Imo, they are focusing too much on MIUI and not on Android One.

March update is out

March security update is out which also includes "digital wellbeing support"
Downloading now, 93Mb.
Update went fine.
New wellness feature looks good, could be useful for some, though it does list all apps even ones you are not "really" using like Nova launcher .... but this will probably reduce in stats prominence as I use phone properly during day.

Not much point in this update then. I had to roll back to December for my Bluetooth even be remotely usable for my car and speakers
The thing that's strange is all these Bluetooth issues ...I don't have any of em. My PH1 works normally with my car, portable Bluetooth speaker and 2 different sets of Bluetooth headphones. Many of the issues others complain of I can't replicate or simply don't have.

I think most of the people who are having issues have a wearable device, like a smart watch, that is giving the most issues.

Same here. Stock, rooted with Magisk, no TWRP. The phone was on Jan update when I bought it, went through both Feb and March updates, no issues. As pointed out, the problem might be more related to wearables, and I don't use them (just a headset and a car speakerphone)...

Mine has worked fine all along. In fact I don't have and never had either the Bluetooth issues or the wifi issues. So either the hardware is that different from device to device or something else is going on.

No, my update process is based on the steps from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/es...de-step-step-instructions-to-install-t3877259
In short: adb sideload OTA zip, extract new boot.img from the update, patch with Magisk, fastboot flash patched boot. I haven't tried the method you linked. Maybe another time...

The same issue was encountered with me also. I am in great distress right now. Tried more than 30+ ROMs (including recover, fast boot, custom, and stock), but nothing helps.
IF you find anything please update here.. THat’ll be a great help indeed!!

I also faced same problem without changing any Rom. I have updated the regular update which is provided by Mi. Unfortunately all went wrong and I can't access call, camera and apps which link to microphone and speaker. Still I didn't get any solution. I am using Mi 9T

did the same thing, i put my phone in the freezer for 10mins.
system audio is back, blueetooth audio is working as well except for the headphone jack..
but itried to restart , and sounds is again not working..
Been testing this several times now, and surprisingly working all the time. Except for the headphone jack and usb headset. But all good with Bluetooth Headset.
I dont know if this will hurt my unit, but for nowi willdo this until we got fix on the issue.
