night,
what's the best rom right now (all the same features as in stock rom)?
I am annoyed with the stock rom, especially the issue of notification
thanks

All the roms CM like are the same try aicp omni mokee and RR and see which you like more
Before I used stock rom Mauro 2.2, never get notification but the dev mentioned you can dial some number to fix it. Also tried stock 26S I got some notification.
For nougat I think AICP is best for battery/performance have all notification just small issue sometime the phone just freez see only black screen and can only press power for reboot.

I get a half blacked out screen while getting incoming calls with the ROM from 20.01.2014 from quarx (look: quarx2k.ru/cm11.0-nightly-defy+/?C=M;O=A). Someone else too? What can I do about it? Maybe change an apk within the ROM?

Me too. I have to say that I still experience call delay bug (possibly even worse) with this release.
I did a clean install of ROM 20140120 (wiped system and data, too), but with no luck. When I install the ROM 20140117 the square is transparent again, but back to ROM 20140120 it's black. I dont understand how other defy users haven't this problem? Are defy devices so different? OK, dont use GApps?!?

For 2 seconds or 2 times ringing and screen shows up. However you could use the power key to wake up your phone earlier, I know a bad and impractical workaround.

same here!! any solution yet for this??
I too am fighting with this bug, on the latest firmware of Quarx , 08/02/2014 , the firmware is satisfies me, but the response of the screen during incoming ringing still existents delayed , although the waiting time decreased, But this is not enough for full use of the device
I managed to slightly accelerate the reaction of the display by changing the frequency on the CPU
Four steps of processor : Vsel 300/17,600/35,900/50,1255/63
Also I replace the kernel in firmware of Quarx, I integrate SlimKat kernel , despite the fact that the kernel slim is almost copy of the Quarx kernel, operation of the device is improved .
You can try my steps and decide to test and decide own conclusions.
If someone tries to leave me your comment.
Hello all,
I have a question and if some one can help me i would be very grateful
I have the Samsung Note 3 SM-N9005, and i am using the Cyanogenmod 11 on it, but i am experiencing some sound statics that are very annoying in general. Basically when the phone uses the speakers the sound in most of the cases is awful with static distortion.
Does any one has any solution to this, or ideas how to fix it ? i tried the latest nightly builds (till 01.05.2014) and nothing helped even if in those builds it was written that they have fixed the sound static distortion.
Thanks allot for any help given!

Dang, i was hoping for a solution ... dony really want to go back to TW honestly, but this ia killing me from inside.
Do you think that a stable update will fix it only or a nightly can do the trick to?
Dang
It's like that in cm roms since 1800.
Try turning off all system sounds, sometimes it helps.

Will try, will see what happens
It works, for now at least, but it works!
I dont see what those sounds have to do with the speakers in general but ... bugs are bugs i guess.
Any ideas of when they will fix this? I actualy love these sounds
Ps: you can leave the click sounds, the problem is with the lock/unlick sound(at least for now i did not have problems, but will continue testing)
Don't ask me, because i don't know why, but it's like that and that's the way it is.
As i told you, this is a bug since forever. Don't think a proper fix is coming soon.

Cyanogenmod 11 sound fault temporary solution??
An alternative temporary solution is to download an equalizer app. Drop all the controls down to zero and then bring them back up one by one. I had a sound issue with just one app on my Samsung galaxy ace II so this might work on your note 3. Ran the equalizer, ran the app, no more screeching or buzzing. When equalizer off, app on its own reproduces sound problems. Several equalizer apps I tried seemed to do the trick. DSP allows you to disable and enable when required. This is my first post and as a noobie I read the terms and conditions first; but I apologize if I have still not followed protocol. Hope this is still relevant.
I had that issue too. Not really sure if it has a permanent fix; it kinda came and went away on its own.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? When I'm listening to music and I get sound notification from whatsapp for example, it becomes distorted for a good five seconds atleast (the music and the notification) and maybe even longer sometimes. I'm using the latest nightly and still experiencing this issue
Flash Temasek's unofficial CM build. He builds from official CM sources and then adds some useful features. A lot of problems in regular CM are fixed in his builds, including broken sound.
So I'm on a ported s6 rom (aurora) for note 3 (n900w8).
I've been noticing this problem, where a phone call would come, but no vibration with it even though the mode was set as vibration mode.
I have missed many phone calls because of this.
At first I thought I simply failed to notice the vibration, but yesterday I witnessed it not vibrating during the incoming phone call. Screen comes on, incoming call screen pops, but no vibration.
This problem persisted ever since lollipop (I think). Had the same problem in the previous roms (other note 3 lollipop roms).
Oh and it happens when the phone is in idle. If a phone call comes while i'm using the phone, it vibrates just fine.
So I was suspecting it might be blocked wakelock or alarm issue. But then again, the only app i'm using for that purpose is Servicely (by chainfire), and I only have a couple apps checked (ie. facebook, google play services, keep, mega, supersu...etc).
TW 5.0.2.
No xposed framework installed.
Rooted/deodexed.
Anyone experiencing the same problem? Any fixes? Help plz. This is starting to bother me a lot...
anybody at all ?
Well as long as the vibrating motor is okay I don't think there is much to think. You are on a ported ROM, so some bugs are to be expected. If you were experiencing the same on an official 5.0 ROM that would be bothering, but as its not you should ask about this in that ROM's thread.
Do you have enabled the power saving option? If yes, try to deactivate it and see if it still not working.
Flash an official rom.
'Ported' Roms are usually very poorly done, as they are meant for other devices.

Hi
Recently my S6e+ has stopped working during calls. More times than not when someone phones me they cannot hear me but i can hear them perfectly. I will phone them back and then it will work perfectly and they can hear me. It doesn't seem to matter whether it is an incoming or outgoing call.
I thought it was due to root and xposed being installed however i went back to stock and the issue is still there. I have tried using the voice recorder app and it works perfectly every time!
Very strange. Any ideas?
I know there is another thread about call issues but i don't believe it is exactly the same issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Currently on skyhigh 4.0. I have recently installed xposed with the following modules.
Gravity box
Wanam
Amplify
Greenify
Flat style bars
Xblast
Blurred system ui
I have also installed v4a.
I can also vaguely remember installing a ROM which had CSC options, would this affect calls?

i have updated the kernel to 4.4 but the problem still persists. I managed to get my hands on stock CSC files (apart from the feature.xml) and now messages work fine. Calls are still intermittent though, its almost like my microphone is turned off and the caller cant hear me, but i can hear them?

Yes I've faced this issue too but which rom I cant remember, I think I reflash the rom cleanly and fixed this. At the other hand I saw this issue in note 5 thread too. Dr. Ketan's has got fix zip to this, but not sure if it works for edge plus or not.

I have no problem with calls now. Will this fix or not dont know but I prefer you to try replacing mixer_paths.xml from stock rom or Audax rom to your current rom(/system/etc)(Dont forget to set permissions as rw- r- r). Whichever rom you use still have no idea but maybe you try different kernels like arter97 too(If you havent tried yet)..

When I flash a Tmobile based rom, I use this way to fix it and it works ok. Present days Im using Note 5 rom which is n920G.. based. Havent replaced anything but no problem with calls. If you havent had that issue before the custom rom or something you flash which causes this issue, its probably a software issue. Otherwise Im gonna think your mic has broken down..
Same problem here. Did you manage to fix it by any chance?

Yes, I use Bluetooth, but I'm thinking that isn't the problem, a did everything I can, format the SD, format the SD in the PC, format the SD in another phone, factory reset, reboot, disable Play Music, shut down my Bluetooth, everything, and the problem still, sometimes it's fix alone for a limited time, and then came back... Only sound I get is streaming videos and the call Ringtone...

Well, that's what I've narrowed the problem down on my phone to. If I leave bluetooth off, the issue doesn't happen. But I need bluetooth so I leave it on. All I can figure is that there is a bug with the bluetooth software when it interacts with the alert volume when connecting and disconnecting.
