So far, the update to Android 8.0 on my zenfone 3 is great...
...except that, to me, the adaptive icons are hideous.
I have searched for a way to turn them off and so far been unsuccessful. Is there a way to do it without installing a different launcher or icon pack?
Cheers!

Hi guys,
I bought a new note 4 yesterday, after my note 3 is dead.
I was used to install cyanogenmod rom when I buy a new galaxy phone.
I like to be on stock android like nexus devices.
This time! I don't what to install cyanogenmod to my new note 4 from many reasons, I like the s pen features and fingerprint scanner! But still I want the look and feel of stock android!
I can install theme "material theme" and nova luncher or Google now luncher to change the look. The look will change to a good point but the notifications on status bar and drop down menu won't change of course. They will be touchwiz style!
Also I can change the status bar icons to be like stock with xposed modules, but the pull down menu! Still I don't figure it out.
Is that possible to change it completely? The look and functionality?
And for the notifications, can we change samsung style small notifications on status bar to big drop down notifications like on stock?
I hope to not forced to install a custom rom!
Hi,
My ROM is rooted and I am interested in changing the notification pane/notification pulldown shade without having to flash one of the LineageOS ROMs yet (tried XePeleatos, will try haky's later but I don't think it's quite ready yet). Is there a way by editing something in system.ui or something like this, to get the Notification Panel look of Stock Android? I hate the two seperated categories for notifications and quick settings!
I tried a few apps from the playstore, one did actually change the look but it was very buggy and not very functional. Could I override the EMUI Panel with the stock one or something? Thanks! :good:
I'm interested in this too.
Try new theme, Emiui, s7 samsung theme.. search on google
M interested in this too. Notification panel is appalling in EMUI. Theming will just change color or fonts. I want the entire UI to change. No app on playstore that i had searched works. There is xposed module android n-ify but unfortunately it doesnt woeks on EMUI. Does anyone knows any solution?
I have been searching for that a lot hope someone got a way to change it
B U M P....
Material Status Bar! It has a lot of pulldown bars.
I noticed that this is an EMUI thing that hides notifications on lockscreen once it's unlocked and never shown on lockscreen again. Can this be changed so i always have lockscreen notifications?
I have the same issue on my Huawei Nova and EMUI 5. I tried lot of lockscreen notifications apps, but none gives good results... Hope someone finds a solution.
just use some of original themes
Unfortunately, I found few similar threads:

It seems that EMUI 5 just works like that. Concept was to keep lock screen clean.
hi guys i tryed installing the pixel 2 live wallpapers from this link but it just keeps resetting to the default system wallpaper if the phone remains locked for a while. the pixel wallpaper 2017 apk doesnt appear in the power management app so u cant disable the power saving rules.
Did you guys found any workaround?
I had the same experience.
Please let us know if you have any tip.
Cheers!
It's because of screen lock clearing, a battery saving feature that ZTE put in their software. Unfortunately there is no way to disable this "feature" for apps that don't show up in your drawer. Installing a custom ROM is the only solution AFAIK (which I just did this week, the unofficial RR rom works like a charm with these wallpapers, and in general).
Mine is working without any issue. Phone is completely stock
Hi all,
I updated my Nokia 6 (2017) to Oreo, but after doing that the animations became crude. I still had haptic feedback but everything else looked as if the phone was running on battery saver. For example, when a YouTube video is loading, I see the 5 dots, not the usual rotating string thingy. The display doesn't change (the notification bar is not orange). I would be very grateful if someone could please tell me how to reverse this.
Yours sincerely,
Emmessy Squire
Make a hard reset after every major update, this will solve your problem
Remember major os upgrade not just security patch
Like 7.0 to 7.1.1
Then 7.1.2
8.0.0
8.1.0
Next will be
9.0.0 next year

In developer options, there are 3 animation speed settings. Make sure these are around 0.5 or 1.0x speed
