Hello, my device is sm-c9000. I made root my device. The knox value of my device is 0 × 1. Samsung knox devices with 0 × 1 devices slow down the phone and shorten its lifespan by enabling the processor to function even when the processor is not used. As a workaround, we can install a special kernel. Does your device have a suitable kernel? SM-C9000 7.1.1 Custom Rom Please help. My English is bad so i am sorry. Please help me

Hello XDA ..
i got my N4 for 4 months however
i want to root and install a rom ..
what do i know about this pretty much nothing ..
what i can think of root is a way to make u the developer of the phone so u can use it complelty
and rom is like a windows of the phone [ operating system ] so i wanted a rom to delte my stupid samsung apps that
make my ram full and drain my big battery in useless stuff ..
now after i did root my note 4 on 5.0.1 i was scared af ! but it worked didn't realy use it but in ads blocking
i wanted to download simplrom but i knew 5.1.1 is coming and then i updated to it via odin
now i can't root my 5.1.1 the easy way !! i want to root then update to the next 5.1.1 simplrom srs what da hell is BOOTLOADER and Kernel AND MODEM !
in googy max kernel that's so famous ,, u can use it via odin how ever
it says - CPU Voltage control (Deltas up to +/- 100 mV)
- CPU Clock control (A53: 200MHz -> 1800MHz / A57: 500MHz -> 2100 Mhz)
- GPU Voltage control (Deltas up to +/- 100 mV)
- GPU Clock control (266MHz -> 800MHz)
wait what !! is that an OVERCLOCK like in pc / wow in a massive number upgrade :silly:
my phone gets hot enough for me and i don't realy like to get it even much hotter ! ..
and the kernel does alot of other things ... including that i can't root without one BUT WAIT !
am a normal user that knows nothing but a normal phone how can i know if there is a bug of the kernel if i don't even know
what da hell is it !! same goes for modem i know nothing about it .. and bootloader ..
please help and explain the easy way as i'm not an english pro :cyclops:
it looks like the kernel is ssomething that controls the device performance but why wouldn't i use the stock one //

First, don't be confused with all the jargon/technical terms.
Just use the phone as usual & flash (not install) anything you need/want by following the instruction thoroughly.
Second, let me explain everything as simple as possible:
KERNEL is the core of any OS (Operating System).
It does anything the phone needs without you know it.
Without it your phone is kinda expensive paper weight but it is still recoverable as long as it has a BOOTLOADER.
A ROM is a collection of software + a KERNEL so that a user can make use of the hardware (the phone)
A BOOTLOADER is in charge to "wake up" your phone as soon as the power button is presses & then load anything needed for the phone to be functional.
Without it, your phone is a very expensive brick.
A MODEM is in charge to connect you to the network(s), specially to the phone network(s).
And yes you can over/downclock your phone using some custom KERNEL, but.....if you unfamiliar with it or any tech terms...DON'T DO IT! It can bring you an EXPENSIVE brick.
Just do what you usually do.
In the case of our Phone, the right term for putting a ROM inside the phone & similar processes is called FLASH(ING).
It is entirely different between FLASHING & INSTALLING.
INSTALLING an app/software has a minimum risk of ruining your phone without the chance to recover it again.
INSTALL process occurs in the "Read & Write" part of the storage
FLASHING on the other hand has a much higher risk as if you doing it the wrong way it will "destroy" your phone FOREVER without any chances of recovery.
FLASH process occurs in the "Read Only" part of the storage.
That's why you need to read all instruction carefully before doing any FLASHING.
I hope this explanation give you a better understanding about your phone.
....And yes, this section is not for Q&A. Next time post your thread in the correct section

Some KERNEL has been OCed out of the box & some kernel hasn't.
Some of them can be OC & some of them can't.
No one knows if your phone will still works if you change the MODEM with incompatible one & only a fool does that.
Usually a STOCK ROM is a package of KERNEL,BOOTLOADER,ROM Softwares,RECOVERY & MODEM.
Custom ROMs on the other hand can remove or add some parts of it.
REMEMBER TO READ ALL INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU REGRET DOING FOOLISH THINGS!!

The only answer for this question is READ & READ again.
Read everything & ask the ROM author if you have any questions about the ROM.
The following are the specifications of my Note 3 SM-N9005
Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 - N9005
CPU: Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400,
GPU: Adreno 330,
Ram: 3GB
Baseband version: N9005XXUGBPB1
I`m very new to the custom Roms and until now I`m using the official lollipop 5.0. I`ve never rooted an android phone before that`s why I don`t want to make any mistake at all. So I`ve a few questions that I need the answers to.
1. How can I root my phone?
2. Which is the best ROM for my mobile?
3. Which ROM has the best battery life for Mobile internet, WiFi, GPS, Calls, Google Maps all on at the same time and its battery doesn`t drain quickly?
In the official lollipop that I`m using with all these features on, my battery lasts only 8 hours which is very less for me. So can changing the ROM extend this and if yes, then how many hours can it last? And if it does nothing of the sort so should I install a new custom ROM?
Thank You all in advance.
Don't even go there. Stay on stock !

As above if you are unable to follow XDA rules then its pointless .
Stay on stock rom then you will not need to bother to search and read .

Thank you so very much for being so much helpful to a new member and going out of the way to help him. It means a lot to that new member. Keep up the good work bro.
PS next time make use of your time and actually help others. Your condescension helps no one.
There's a difference between spoon feeding and helping.

Like i said read the rules first .I even gave link to faqs and guides .
https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/2494?query=best stable rom
I use Omega 4.4.2 rom. Omega roms are very good and already rooted, i recommend them. As far as installing, you need Odin, a custom recovery and the Omega Rom.
First copy the Omega rom (about 1,5 GB) into you Note 3 internal memory.
Then boot phone into download mode (down volume + home + power), connect to PC with a GOOD usb cable and install custom recovery with Odin, It takes 10 seconds.
Last, boot in custom recovery (up volume + home + power) and use install from zip or similar, and install Omega Rom from internal. Reboot and that's it
Good luck!

Help needed...
So you did no research in all this time ? A custom rom won't magically give you all that you want. You still need to know how to tweak a few things.
It's too much work to spoon feed someone with the basics over the internet. If we link you to the thousands of guides out there, you still need to read and understand them. And still more questions will arise. But obviously you are not willing to read them or you don't understand them so what's the point in repeating them here ?
You should stay on stock rom and get yourself a battery case.
And again for your 2. and 3. question, there is no such thing as a best rom and the battery is gonna last you as long as how you set you custom rom and how you use your phone.

Ya..its easy dude..
All u need a pc
Odin
No need to do rooting or else
Just install all adb and usb driver to ur pc
Run odin..and just flash recovery image on ur phone
After completed..boot ur phone with power+vol- button to enter recovery..
And select roms that u save in sd or usb
Done!
For details u need to search it in roms threads..al stated there..dont too paranoid..its simple..no bootloader unlocking or what so ever..its easy dude
And there is NO best rom...pls respect to our dev hardwork ya..just ur preferences
Im use phronesis v7 + phantom t version kernel
All silky smooth and i can tweak the kernel for battery saving or performance gaining..if power saving is so priority to u..just get any extended battery or power case that still available in the market surprisingly..haha
Sammobile and updato .com have some very stable stock roms .
no reading required .

Please elaborate your problem.
And give some details about the device unlocked, using custorm rom or stock rom , variant of device etc.
Only then i am able to help you.
I have a Moto E3 power XT1706.
CPU - MT6735P
GPU - Mali T720
I have an unlocked phone with a unofficial lineage rom from a developer named Samar-v xda.
first off. wow. big learning curve.
I have a stock sm-n916s Note 4. I want to root it first to remove the bloatware. If anyone can point me in the right direction of links appreciated...first..dumbo question..do i need to root before flashing to diff rom?
I located some korean blogs but i'm hoping to have to cf root files soon.
I also would like to install lineage or a more current version of android...can someone please point in the right direction for the rom/firmware required for that?
the architecture is
4x arm cortex-a57
4x arm cortex-a53
exynos octa 5433 1.9 ghz
which rom/firmware can i safely flash to? i'd love to try lineage os...
guidance really appreciated...
Ton of thanks
I have a HTC Wildfire E Lite as a backup phone. I realise it's not like the old HTC devices in the rest of this forum - it's pretty generic hardware I suspect.
It runs Android 10 Go Edition, which I really don't like. Ideally I'd like to install a fully-fledged version of Android. To this end I've managed to unlock the bootloader, and now require a (stock) Android 10 image. Failing that, even just the right boot image for rooting (I've tried Kingoroot - no luck).. But after searching the web I can't find anything for this model of phone. Given its generic hardware, is it possible to use an image made for other devices?
Specs:
Android v10 (Q)
Quad core, 1.8 GHz, Cortex A53 processor
MediaTek Helio A20 Chipset
2 GB RAM
32 GB internal storage
Hi.
I might have an idea on how you could go about this.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not a tech guru but the info I have should be able to get you what you want.
I got most of these info because of my desperation for optimization when I owned a potato (Infinix Smart 3). It literally had no Dev support, even in XDA. My recent phone has no support either but it's smooth enough for me so I'll just share my knowledge with you!
First, I'll advice you to backup your stock ROM. Have you heard of Wwr MTK? Or SP flash tool? These are the Mediatek tools you'll need to backup your stock images. JSYK your processor, Helio A20, is codenamed MT6761D. That'll come in handy!
Use this video to learn more on how to use them:
And please I'll have to beg you not to use Kingoroot. It's a very dated root method so I'll advice you to use Magisk. Here (https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk), you'll get all the info you'll need to install Magisk.
Also, if you're looking for a stable custom ROM to use, you can use Android 10 or Android 11 GSI system image from XDA recognised Phh. Find them here( https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases)
Also, if you want to have the same experience as on Google Pixel devices, you could also use Pixel Experience or Pixel Experience+ GSIs. Find them here (https://github.com/ponces/treble_build_pe/releases)
If you run into any issues, you could contact me on WhatsApp (https://wa.me/2348107260090)
Or Telegram (https://t.me/si_nach) or just search @si_nach
Hope this helps! Have Fun!
Awesome! Thank you! I'm going to give it a go in the next few days and will update with the results. Much appreciated
