Custom Rom for mStar Cedric 3

Hello together,
I have an old Android Headunit. I would like to install a custom rom, because the navigation isn´t working fine and the speed of the unit is a bit slow. Unfortunately I´m not able to find the right one. Could someone helpme please ?
I have these details from the original launcher / Infos at settings:

I have read here, that the "AN-21 U " should be the right one. But the specs are not the same. Otherwise I found these video at youtube, with the title "2014 Model AN-21 U Android Car Stereo for Volkswagen - Brief Tour" and this is exactly my unit.

Hi Friends,
I'm new to android auto. I'm stuck in a dilemma to determine the type of unit and the firmware I currently have so that I can upgrade rom with the right files to avoid a brick.
This is what I've gathered from different sources.
Car setting app shows:
Android: YT9216BJ_00012_V001_20200514
Android os: 10.1 (i understand this is fake and not the actual version)
XY AUTO: 3.3 (8227L)
CAN Pro: 3.1 (8227L)
DDR: 4G FLASH: 64G (this is also fake.. its actually 1/16GB)
cpu: A7 1.3GHz x4
display: 1024*600
MCU: 3.1 (8227L)
CPU-Z shows:
Model: 8227L_demo (full_8227l_demo)
Manufacturer: alps
Build ID: YT9218_00012_V001
Android Version: 8.1Go
API Level: 23
Printed on Motherboard:

I was also able to determine the chipset type as MT8216 using Miracle Thunder (it just happened to pop up when the head unit was rebooting with USB still plugged in to my computer). I'm not 100% sure if this is my chipset but using this info (MT8216) I was able to create a backup with WwR MKT Tools to create Scatter.txt file and SP Tools to readback from the head unit.
I've been reading forums for weeks now desperately trying to figure out how to upgrade my system to android 8, 9, or 10 without bricking the device.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and would save us a lot of trouble. If someone can provide the the update files, that would also be awesome.

thanks for replying. much appreciated.
I did search for both YT9216 and 8227L.
I figured 8227L is a processor installed on many different devices.
Also, that one has to be accurate about the being installed. I've seen people post about bricking their devices due to minor difference is firmware.
Hence, I want to know which firmware will support my device.
And what would be the best method to install the latest update?
I'm believe I'm still very new to android auto stuff and still trying to figure thing out.

Which firmware will work on my hu?
Please help anyone?

I updated muy unit with 9213 aj firms without problem ( original firm yt 9213, and previosly a full backup). My unit is 9260 motherboard too. And also CPU test ir Aída 64 showed 9218

I successfully installed "xyauto_ui1_9216BJ-ota-20200620.zip" using usb flash drive via android update in car settings.
however, i get an error midway when i try to install the following "huidao_ui2_en_9216BJ_9-ota-20200804" via the same method.
I'm trying to upgrade my android version / Api Level from 23 to at least 27. How can I make this possible?
Also, does the firmware has to be xyauto? maybe this is why the huidao file isn't working?

I updated It with spflashtool make format+download all files (included preloader )

Were you able to upgrade api level to 27 via sp tools method?

Please, I need the rear view camera settings since I only see the black screen .... Initially I thought it was a connection problem, but if I try to restart the stereo and then put the reverse gear, before starting, that is basically before loading the settings you can see the rear view camera .... SP tool flash method worked.
But my touch buttons are not working.
I've tried to remap in factory settings, but its not allowing.
System info screen show MCU 3.1 (X2) and Canbus 3.1 (X2). Previously on a working api 23 firmware, it showed MCU 3.1 (8227L).
Any idea how to fix these buttons.
When I try to load/upgrade the mcu.bin file from my previous working rom thru the usb flash drive method, the mcu upgrade button in system info is greyed out.

It´s normal when you flash a new firmware and very easy to solve . You need recalibrate touch. In factory setting / touch settings: press start, next home and press your home point. Same with the rest touch buttons....and finally close.

did you test gongban_YT9216BJ_ui1-hw-ota-v6.5.zip ? it just got released today, is there any way to optimize these images ? i see google map is very slow. and i can't run Android Auto on these units.

Can someone explain me the difference between different versions under YT9216! What does YT9216B, YT9216BF, YT9216BJ, YT9216BFJ, YT9216C, etc mean? What are the differences?

Hello, thank you very much for putting the firmware, but, I do the whole procedure the 5 files in the root in a Fat32 USB memory, I mark the box to format the internal flash, the stereo takes a long time and indicates that it does not turn off, then It restarts, everything gives the impression that it is going to carry out the procedure but the only thing that happens is that the vehicle logo and the android letters are reset, when it starts after a long time in the Android letters it turns out that it has performed a configuration reset factory, nothing more .... !! it never reaches the screen where you see how the installation and update bar progresses as in the video, and the information continues to show the same number and date of compilation, mcu, system and the same failures of course .. I'm doing wrong .? I have manually reset to factory, I have changed memory, I have tried 2 different compilations: (20210803 and 20210825) with the name THEME1, I have downloaded from different places ..! Nothing, always the same behavior and result.
Supposedly this is the correct firmware for my Stereo.

Yes i have installed it OTA. Seems bit more stable.
Currently i'm using 1G-16G model. For navigation i use waze.
For music player i installed PowerAmp. However PowerAmp or other music players will not detect incoming BT calls and mute+pause music. When using built in music app music gets paused when in BT call. But the built in player has no album art capabilities so this is why i use poweramp.

Anyone tried installing some CFW to this head unit? Like LineageOS or similar? System is mostly ok but me too stuck with stock themes app and stock music player.
Themes app is no big deal i'm mostly in the music player all the time. The bult-in music app is good and it works correctly when there is incoming calls from BT.
However the built-in music player is very plain and does not have ability to display album art. So i installed PowerAmp. But when using poweramp or any other music app these will not detect incoming BT call properly.
I feel it is the OS not properly sending the notification/API issue. Only the built-in player can detect this and pause.
Any ideas?

so you confirm me that the bluetooth has no problems with the new update? I read on XDA that a user after this update no longer works the Bluetooth, as regards the themes I use the webguro launcher and I even managed to activate ANDROID AUTO with a simple app

Yes there was a issue with bluetooth immediately after the update. The device name and BT password was blank and i could not update. I thought the update bricked bluetooth.
The solution was to play some music from the built-in music player. After using the built-in player once the bluetooth was back. I think the BT function is tightly integrated with the built-in music player somehow.
Can you share how you managed to get Android Auto installed? I could not find how to get this done.
For launcher i used CarWebGuru and it works ok.

U can on bluetooth by going to car settings by password 123456 And then config sys unclick all then click on bs6 only then restart the system. All done

Thanks I solved, as for activating Android Auto just download the app on your carLink HeadunitReloaded I recommend the free version first, if your carstereo is supported then buy the Pro version

Hello!
I have an Allwinner navigation with 2G Ram and 32 Gb internal memory T3L p1.
Due to the fact that my Bluetooh couldn't work anymore, I did a factory reset but with a Google account - like a lost device!
Navigation starts and stays locked to the Android logo on the screen. I downloaded the firmware here from the forum and after many attempts like
on off, reset button etc the 5 files are installed. But it doesn't go beyond the Android logo. What else can I do?

After updating firmware, i have now android 5.1 and everythings works fine but play store. I have access to any other app from google but play store show only a white screen and nothings happens.
Anyone how to fix this or where to find playstore apk for installing manually?
