Just do a clean flash using Miflash. The Oreo fastboot image is out and it'll take 10 minutes

okay now when i leave it for a while it goes to recovery and says i should factory data reset. will this remove my files on the internal storage ? of yes how can i take the files off the phone ?
also is flashing a whole rom image through fast boot from here removes the data on internal storage ?

Flash twrp if possible and wipe data, no factory reset. May you are able to boot and backup your internal to PC. After that do a complete clean install.
Edit: or try dirty from here

Nexus 4 Doesn't boot

I have this 8GB Nexus 4 I purchased when it was first released as a gift for someone. Anyway, when 4.3 was released the person I gifted the phone took the update and after that the screen was stuck on the X screen for about 12 hour. He finally unplugged the power and waited for the battery to drain.
The phone isn't rooted, doesn't have a custom recovery on it. It's basically a stock device.
I have the phone now and this is what I've done so far. As soon as I received the phone, I went into the recovery and cleared both cache and reset the device to default. It still didn't boot (stuck on X screen). Then I used fastboot to clear everything and reinstall the factory image for 4.3. it still wouldn't boot. I then used fastboot to flash the radio from 4.2's factory image and it booted to the main screen.
I don't know why the phone won't boot with the radio bundled with the factory image for 4.3. I waited until 4.4 became available (today) thinking that would solve my problem. No, it didn't. The phone is stuck on the new multi color (4 dots) boot screen after flashing 4.4.
Can anyone help me figure out how to get the proper radio on this phone? I don't know what else to try.

Same here, went in stock recovery and formatted all.. funny thing is that in openrecovery or clockwork the data partition cannot be mounted so also not formatted ; in stock no message about mounting issues so seems to be working, but I am not sure,,

manually wipe data and cache using fastboot
make your phone boot into bootloader mode and connect to pc
on pc open fastboot and type fastboot erase cache and fastboot erase userdata, if there are erros probably your phone is eMMC failed, if no erros let it boot for like 20 mins
It works now, I relocked the bootloader en reboot. Then unlocked and into revovery wiped everything. Flashed all and worked.

No Reboot After TWRP Flash

Hello, i had a lot of troubles with battery drains recently, by curiosity i wanted to restore my stock backup.
So i did and the phone was stuck during rom boot.
So i wanted to go back to TWRP to fix things but instead it went back to stock recovery.
Okay, so i wanted to flash TWRP again but after flashing the recovery.img,
nothing happens when i enter fastboot reboot
I forced shutdown and re tried many times with other twrp files, always the same issue i cannot reboot with the flashed recovery ! ! !
please HELP
To boot to recovery, shut down the phone, press volume up + power button, when the phone vibrate release the buttons and it will boot to recovery.
The command "fastboot reboot" will just reboot normally the phone.
sorry but my problem is that i cannot reboot in twrp anymore, it always reboot on STOCK recovery !
dunno what to do i got to meet foreign customers tomorrow without my phone i dunno how i'll do, so unlucky it happened to me today
i even tried flashing on another computer, and trying to restore with stock recovery or huawei app but none are working.
to make it clear, i can just fastboot.
so what should i flash to restore/unbrick my phone ? don't care if i lose data, just need to call tomorrow !
edit: some folks say to put update.app in load folder on sd card then boot with the three buttons but which update.app file should i copy ? i got a VNS-L31 should the SD card be in FAT32 ?
Are you sure you flashed TWRP? Try to download it again and flash it from fastboot mode.
yes sure i did it like 20 times this afternoon, i'm trying to fix it for 5 hours lol
in fact i just was able to boot the restore .app while booting with the three buttons, it's installing updates, hope it will fix all the partitions/recovery/boot/system... and all those necessary stuffs
edit: finally huawei animated boot logo is showing UP !
On which firmware are you and which TWRP did you tried?

i was using meticulous TWRP v3 and some of his builds for several months and i had trouble with those roms.
so i restored my stock backup and everything was not working anymore, each i tried flashing it always went back on stock recovery a every reboot, impossible to flash twrp anymore...
looks like the phone is stuck in a boot loop lol pfffft
edit:
FYI what i just tried is restoring this image http://consumer.huawei.com/lk/support/products/downloads/huawei-p9-lite-lk.htm (the first one ASIA) but the phone is still booting looks like a fail, could it be incompatible ?
I see.
If you managed to restore with the update.app and the 3 buttons, everything should be fine. It will take some time to boot up, so just wait for a while. Also the bootloader probably re-locked so you will need to unlock it again.

it can relock ? i will check !
if it does not work should i fast boot flash system.img, recovery.img, cust.img, cache.img and boot.img ?
I think the best thing to do should be a factory reset from recovery, stock is fine, then reboot and wait for 15-20 minutes. If the update.app succefully installed there should be no problem

moto g4 plus black gray screen

Yesterday I unlocked my bootloader and install latest 3.2.1.0 twrp on my phone then today I download pixelexperiance on my phone.
Now I go to twrp mode and backup installed ROM data(xt1643 device, latest security patch, backup system.img, system etc....6 GB).
Then I went to wipe data, dalvik ,cache etc....and clear it and install pixel experience but it shows error 255 ,then I go to reboot system but it won't turn on my phone ,so I go again twrp and restore backup ,around 260 seconds it take.
Then reboot system ,after reboot there is motologo (blue screen) ,then after black gray screen ,now what is problem ,can't understand!!!!
I have not any pc but my friends have but there is night and I can't go until morning .
My percentage on battery is 15%...

What did you restore? System and data?
Also for Pixel experience you need a 64bit recovery cause it's a hardware 64bit rom. You can use this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...recovery-twrp-3-2-1-unofficial-touch-t3722206 just flash it through your existing twrp.
System, data, system.img, boot and I have 3.2.1.0 twrp it is 64 bit or not?and I restore about 6 gb,so why after moto logo ,the black screen appear?i don't have laptop ,so can do anymore ,my battery is draining.

Where did you download the twrp? If it's not from the link I wrote than surely not.
Can you reboot to recovery, wipe cache/art partition and reboot to system? Why you can't charge your device?
First thing ,can 3.2.1.0 is 32 bit or not?
Second,if above is not 64 bit,i downloaded from your link and put it in sd card through otg cable(because my phone is not turn on ,and I can't installe from same phone ).
Then I go to install>tap on flash IMG>twrp(64 bit)>recovery.
But red line showing on output and show - error for flash IMG ,there is no directory.

3.2.1 can be 32bit. I really don't know what you've downloaded...
Your flashing method is correct: install>tap on flash IMG>twrp(64 bit)>recovery
Can you post a screenshot of the error please?
If it possible than I will surely do it.but now I don't want 64 bit twrp (when my mobile turn on I flash it through your link)
But my question is if pixelexperiance show error 255 error and if I want revert back to original stock rom through twrp backup and tap restore>backup>done then why my mobile is not start after Motorola logo and stop to black gray screen????so,this is soft brick or hard brick? Personally I don't know what is soft brick or hard brick but in both case mobile is not turn on.

Bootloader locks itself, can't restore via fastboot

Hi,
recently my friend asked me wether I can look at her P8 Lite which wasn't working after beeing left unused for some time. Basically when she got a new phone this P8 was left in box for a few months and after turning it back on the screen included in attachment appeared. https://imgur.com/a/WcvNByN I'm not new when it comes to unlocking bootloaders and all that stuff as I was doing it many times on another devices so I tought it will be easy job. Well, was I wrong... What I tried so far to recover this phone:
1) I obtained all necesary data to get the bootloader unlock code from Huawei. When I want to unlock the bootloader it works but after I reboot the device it goes back to "Locked" state.
2) It does not boot to recovery with buttons combination.
3) It does boot to fastboot but as I said bootloader locks itself down after reboot.
4) I tried to place UPDATE.APP from various firmweares on SD card and update it that way, it takes extremly long but with this metod it boots to some kind of MIUI recovery in which I have 3 options: wipe cache, wipe data/factory reset, rebboot system. Depending on firmweare it allows me to wpie cache or/and wipe data but reboot system always fails taking me back to this rescue mode screen.
5) Finally I tried to flash stock rom by extracting files from UPDATE.APP via fastboot. It flashes everything except recovery and boot which gives me fastboot error: "FAILED (remote: flash write prim vrl failure)". Interestingly I can flash TWRP recovery without error but when i try to access it whit buttons combination it fails and goes to rescue mode.
Device was stock and unrooted before this. I'm kind of out of ideas, I searched a lot of topics without any conlusion on this, if anyone could help me I wolud really appreciate this. However I think there is no hope for this phone maybe someone here would be able to help.

Oh no... You should contact Huawei and don't tell them that you tried to unlock the bootloader. Your phone may have a thing named "Huawei eRecovery". Launch it, it will download and flash stock ROM.

That option works only in China . I guess

I had the same error on my Huawei P8 Lite 2017 but I broke it myself.
The only way I was able to fix it by not taking it to a store was to use DC Phoenix, but it costs 20 euros for a 3 day license.
It was worth it though, since it did first of all lock the bootloader again, and it bootlooped at first but then I went to eRecovery and it installed the latest update and booted up.

Factory reset after dirty flashing Oreo, now only boots into TWRP

So a while ago I had dirty flashed the Oreo update from this link: OREO open to give it a try and see if I could actually get away with a dirty installation. Phone was working ok but battery drain has been enormous, around 30-50% worse than with Android 7.1 especially on idle so I thought ok time to do a proper factory reset by wiping everything (Dalvik, cache, system).
Now, I selected Factory Reset from within the OS (not TWRP) but during the first reboot it booted into TWRP asking me for decryption password, I did a wipe so it forgot all about it but now it only boots into TWRP no matter if I do an Advanced Factory Reset wiping everything via TWRP's menu, phone starts, shows the LG logo for a couple of sec and then TWRP screen shows up.
I am thinking I should flash a stock Oreo recovery in order for the boot to the OS but not 100% sure if this will cause more trouble.

Flash the oreo update zip from westwood or zefie. You can find it in the rom and development section. Search for v20a

Thanks but being impatient, I tried flashing the stock recovery. This seemed to free the booting and reset process, phone showed the LG logo, then for 2 seconds "Deleting" then LG Logo again and I thought the factory reset was in progress. After like half an hour still stuck in LG logo I realized I've probably soft bricked it. Phone only starts and gets stuck in LG Logo. So I entered bootloader and re-flashed TWRP but unfortunately now I can't find a way to boot into recovery (the irony). Phone just starts and gets stuck in LG logo forever, only thing i can do is use Power+Vol down to reboot into bootloader but no way to boot into recovery or even shut it off. Any way to enter recovery at this state and flash the OREO zip?
I realize I should have just waited for instructions but coming from consecutive unlocked Nexus devices i thought the steps and processes would be similar...
Try to discharge the phone completely (to shut it off) and enter download mode (I don't know any other method to do it). With LG UP flash stock kdz from your model, if you search a bit you will find it. This should work. If it don't work I've seen a couple of posts with the same problem as yours, search for the solution there, but if you can enter download mode it should work LG UP.

Thanks for the quick reply. With a bit of Googling I found that you can use volume down to enter stock recovery. This confused me as when I did it I expected to see the TWRP welcome screen. Instead I saw the stock recovery screen which only gives you the option to do factory reset. I did it and then rebooted again into recovery and all of a sudden I saw the TWRP screen! I remember there is something weird with how TWRP sticks to the system or not, again very confusing compared to Nexus devices. Anyway, since I managed to enter Recovery I copied the OREO flashable zip to internal memory and flashed and phone booted fine, now I am waiting to set up a fresh 8.0 installation :good:
