Hi, I have the 2gb RAM variant of the P9 lite (L21) and apart from the usual bad ram memory management, I now even get EMUI launcher redraw/reload when I go back from Chrome. To try it yourself, open facebook's website on chrome and use for 10-15 minutes and after that, going back will probably make the launcher redraw/reload. Is this just the bad RAM management of EMUI and is there any solution to it?
Thanks!

Hi everyone! I just picked up an unlocked US version S8 (SM-G950U1) and I know we're waiting on root for it, so there are annoying things I can't customize the way I want to yet (eg, disabling "peek" / heads up notifications while still allowing the notification to make a sound) and now I just noticed after taking a series of photos that my Gallery no longer seems to have the row of thumbnail images displayed below the current image I'm viewing. I use this all the time to quickly toggle between similar images and pick my favorite(s) / select some of them for mass deletion as I scroll through them.
I have Gallery on an S5 running Android 4.4.2 and Gallery 1.0.73 on a Note Edge running on Android 6.0.1, and they both have the row of thumbnails below the current image, by default. Screenshots from both phones attached, as examples. I tried to install the older versions of Gallery from those two phones onto my S8, but of course they're not compatible with nougat, so I got an error and nothing installed.
I can't find a setting on my S8 anywhere (as part of Gallery settings or not) to re-enable the feature. Anyone have any thoughts? This is with Gallery version 5.3.05.301 and Android version 7.0 (build AQE3). Other helpful ideas including ways to force this functionality via adb (or someday, once we can root?!) and other gallery apps that DO offer this functionality would also be gratefully received
There are enough annoying things with this phone that I'm seriously considering returning it. Please convince me otherwise!
I got the Android O for my Samsung Galaxy tab S3 here in india. Update size is around 1123 MB.
New features are
1. Experience 9
2. Doldy Atmos enhancements
3. New options to play sound of a particular app on a particular device. Ex : if u have connected a Bluetooth speaker, now u have the ability to select only YouTube audio to be played on Bluetooth speaker.
4. Live messages
5. New notification icons and app icons( I guess part of experience 9 home)
6. Multiple clock faces and colours for clock in lock screen.
That's the S9/S9+ wallpaper. Is that on the device after Oreo or did you put it on your tablet? And if it comes with Oreo is it live like on the S series?
Are there themes? I really really want to have black theme all over instead of blinding white
Well this is my experience:
-Changes mentioned by kmdshoyaib in op
-No themes of course (and i wasn't expecting that)
-The overall experience is smoother than nougat but I have to say many lags and delays specially in samsumg keyboard, and third party apps menus are still there (I did a clean install and factory reset)
-I feel a better response time to S-pen (maybe a placebo effect)
-Other things including batter life needs more time!

Live messages is now available on Tab S3 oreo.
Other than that, I feel the tablet way more responsive now. Reacts faster when playing around with different apps.
Samsung Pass now requries secure screen lock to work with autofill of usernames and passwords. Fingerprint is still a must with Samsung Pass, but in addtion a screen lock also is needed.

I got it yest night in India too. agree with all the above comments, but disappointed by 1 thing; no change in the SNote/Samsung Notes fiasco
The Dolby Atmos is awesome. I played a song in the dead of the night and, mighty impressed with the improvement. The output from the speakers also had improved. Good thing the AKG speakers have been used and getting a good workout!
Greetings from India, received Oreo update today, and now tab s3 supports VOLTE. Jio VOLTE calls are working now.
And battery life is better?

Supports it adoptable storage or do I have to hack again?

Well that is just the static wallpaper I downloaded from Android authority.com
It would have been a charm if Samsung included s9 live wallpapers with the update

Greetings from China...
The s pen translate app also got an update and now it works just like galaxy note 8.
It can translate from Chinese and Japanese now. It can also translate sentences and currency.
My tablet is currently in for repair so have not had a chance to look at the update personally only watched some videos on YouTube about it I was wondering if anyone could have a look and find out if there's a way to change the resolution to save power yet as I do a lot of typing and office work on my tablet and I was looking for a way to down the resolution to 720 p to save a ton of power and was wondering if this has been added with the Oreo update.
Maybe it's because I am a brand new Tab S3 user and updated almost immediately. But all the apps in Play Store that I already paid for are showing up as unpaid. Here is my post about it. Help is appreciated!
Battery life has been fine for me since I got the update yesterday.

Updated last night. The process was easy and error free. The changes are really minor, not anything to write home about. In any case, as Android matures, I would not expect substantial changes from one version to a newer one.

Try to login on a pc to your google account to validate the issue.
On your tab, try to wipe cache, following this steps:
1. Turn off your tab.
2. After that press and hold the Volume Up + Home + Power button for a couple of seconds.
3. Now you should be in the expected mode.
4. You can navigate here by using Volume buttons and select options "wipe cache" by using the Power key.
If this solve your issue donĀ“t forget leave feedback to help other mates.

Hello fellow 9T users,
I have been searching around with not much result on this, so as a last resort i ask the community.
I wanted to use a live wallpaper for both home and lock screen, and i wanted to try the method with using the 24H Dynamic Wallpaper (seriously why do we have to do it this way?). When selecting wallpapers from the settings i have 4 tabs: Local Photos, Recent, Pre-installed and live.
Now i do believe i did actually had more live Wallpaper options instead of the 4 in the tab available... And this is my second 9T (had a hardware failure) and i remember i had the 24H Wallpaper on both devices. Its missing, i have tried changing region to see if it was hidden but nope.
Is this because i updated to MIUI 11? (V11.0.3, android 9, Europe). Maybe the wallpaper carrousel that has been added? Or is the file just missing?. I have been switching around with roms, but have reverted to stock and also installed an ota update, maybe this could be the culprit?
Kinda lost on this one, so if anyone could give a hand it would be really appreciated!
I just received the Xiaomi mi 9T Pro 2 days ago and just updated to miui 11.0.3 based on Android 10. I live in canada so I probably have that version of the OS. I can confirm that in the update featurette it showed the 24 hours dynamic wallpapers as part of the update, but no matter where I go either in the theme or wallpaper settings or the one from the store, I simply cannot find the 24h wallpapers.
I hope they can fix this soon.
Can anyone help answer a few quick questions on MIUI 11 on the Redmi 7A ( or any other Xiaomi device) please?
1. Does MIUI 11 have the cursor magnifier bubble that pops up when editing text or moving the cursor? This is native in Android Pie but some Android 9.0 builds (I'm looking at you Samsung) didn't have it in. Do a lot of texting so this is really useful.
2. Is MIUI 11 still stuffed with ads like the previous versions? Have Xiaomi finally provided a one click option to remove / stop all ads?
3. Can you remove factory apps in MIUI 11, either through Settings or using adb? (I've no use for Facebook, Twitter and a bunch of other bloat in any ROM).
Thanks in advance, looking at getting a Redmi 7A (or Android Pie based Redmi device) as a cheap second phone which will e used for email, chat and text but find editing text is very fiddly on Android without the cursor magnifier thing that iOS has.
I can only answer questions 2 and 3. 2) Miui contains ads that can be disabled in each app from an option called recommendations. After this, the ads are not usually noticed in apps. 3) It is possible to debloat the device without root, there is even a tool that lets you see which apps you can disable: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/miui-xiaomi-global-debloater-the4anoni-t3879739
My opinion: If you unlock the device, flash mokee, you can use it with up to android 10 (It has less lags than miui, and you can restrict usage in the background) and with/without gapps, and you will get a lot of battery. Or reach the end of the day with 60-70% (no games, occasional uses,we are in quarantine, I have not tried it in a day outside.).
So I ended up buying a brand new Redmi 7A running Global firmware Android Pie and can answer the questions:
1. MIUI 11 does not have the cursor magnifier thing like stock Android it uses the same teardrop bubble cursor that Samsung phones use (this might be fixed in MIUI 12).
2. Yes, it's still stuffed with ads and you have to go into individual apps to try and get rid of them. Even this doesn't work fully though, the whole UI is riddled with ads.
3. Not possible to remove the apps and in fact, it's the worst phone I've ever seen that doesn't even let you disable apps either. All the Google crap like Music, Movies, Books, Games, etc. you can't even disable let alone uninstall them like you can on other phones.
I had the phone for approximately 1 day, hated MIUI and promptly sent it back for a full refund. Never again Xiaomi
