Mojo stock (twrp and flashily) - M.O.J.O. General

Hi everybody!
I've just recently upgraded my mojo (stock) to lineageos 13, and looking for information in the forum I saw a lot of people that is looking for a backup of the stock ROM, so, I have a couple of question:
* How can I open the twrp backup so I can extract the flashify backup?
* my stock rom had my google acount configured, can I delete that? or, should I just change my gmail password? Just asking so I can put it online somewere...
Greetings,
Al

[Q] Newbie; Note 3 Flashing to CyanogenMod

Greetings,
I have just bought a used Note 3, and I'd like to flash it to the lastest Snapshop CM. I have looked for guides and I've found some Youtube videoes and other guides, but since the Note 3 is not a new phone, the guides are a little dated - and I fear may no longer be valid.
I would like to; Backup the entire Android installation so that I can recover it (if possible), not to trip KNOX and to have the minimal possible Google footprint on the Phone. I do not want ANY (if possible) Google services running (I'm not even installing any Google Play apps, only F-Droid).
Based on this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XnmA5BHFgY) i need:
- Odin
- Samsung Kies
- Latest CM
- CWM 6.0.4.8 (or later version?)
- Gapps (Pico Modular for minimal footprint? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44417558)
But the video does not discribe how to completly backup the Android installation.
My phone is a SM-N9005 running 4.4.2 with 3.4.0-1955971 Kernel.
I apologies for any stupid questions, but I appriciate any help
Thanks!
I recommend the TWRP instead of Philz, that's what I use and is good. I don't know about Philz but if you want TWRP then I answered your question if not I'm sorry but I don't use Philz.
1. To backup in TWRP, tap 'Backup' then select all checkboxes to back up everything (leave the MD5 and compression checkboxes alone) then swipe to wipe. (Backup before flashing CM)
2. To not trip KNOX is impossible if you want to install CM11. Why do you not want to trip KNOX? Just say f*** it and trip KNOX!
3. To have the minimal possible, flash the pico gapps. It's impossible not to have any google services running since CM11 is based on stock android which is by Google.
Welcome to XDA and the world of rooting that brings your phone wonders!
Hello again,
I tired flashing TWRP 2.8.0.2 witn Odin 3.10 and it seems successfull (Odin says PASS!, and is green) however, when I reboot the phone in recovery mode, the stock Android recovery still appears.
Any tips?
Thanks!

[Q] Latest official Google Play Edition?

Hello
I have a brand new Samsumg Galaxy S4 but I hate TouchWiz. I want to have the purest Android experience.
I'm a bit new with this phone and haven't used Android in two years now so I'm a bit lost.
What is the latest official Google Play Edition available for my S4? It doesn't have to be Lollipop (although that'd be nice), it can be on KitKat. As long as it's official and untouched (if such a thing exists)
Thank you for your time and help!
I use this rom
It's mostly stock but with a few features added. It has an aroma installer from which you can choose what to install. E.g if you want stock kernel or custom kernel.

Thanks! I'll definitely try it. The only thing is I tried to install TWRP yesterday but the phone started to load it and then stopped. There was a tiny tiny progress color but when I just restarted the phone without completing the process, it worked fine which shows that it didn't even start.
I flashed TWRP using Nandroid manager (from google play) and the img file you get from the twrp site.
That's the only method that worked for me.
TWRP Image
Nandroid Manager
If you're on stock rom, nandroid manager will prompt you to install busybox app from google play (since stock roms don't have busybox). Just download it and install busybox using that app.
Then you can use Nandroid manager to flash that twrp recovery image. Then boot into recovery to make sure it works
Thank you! I've installed TWRP now. I'll continue the tutorial and keep you posted!
Alright it worked! Thanks a bunch!
No problem

[Q] SM-G7106 No CWM / TWRP / Google Apps / Custom Roms

Hi All,
i have been searching for hours and tried a couple of things to get CWM and TWRP installed in SM-G7106 but to no available. SM-G7106 is a Samsung Grand 2 under China Unicom. Tried using Odin to install CWM and TWRP, despite Odin saying it passed, i still cant get into it and always goes into default Android recovery mode.
I wanted to flash a custom rom for this phone as the default rom is without google apps and cant sign / sync with google services.
I hope anyone here could shed / share some lights and hope the wonderful devs out there willing to pick up a challenge in getting this working.
any luck?
Hi.
Were you able to install cwm or twrp on 7106?
I'm also trying to (find and) install a clean or custom rom for this phone, but has been very hard. I even can't get ODIN to see the phone because it won't go to download mode.

[SOLVED] Xperia Z1C 5.1.1 & Encrypted - Installation of Custom Recovery?

Hi there,
before you start blasting away: Yes, I searched the forum and the inet and did not come up with a suitable solution.
Basic scenario: Cracked screen on the first D5503 and wanted to clone to a new D5503 with the same version (14.6.A.1.236).
First question that arrose: Is a complete clone possible? Basic answer yes, but if one needs root or not to do so (no root-> Bit clone the drive somehow? ADB maybe?) remains disputed. So I'm rooted now but to do a clone using recovery (TWRP) requires TWRP itself first
--> see sticky or http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/general/root-xperia-z1-lollipop-5-1-1-build-14-t3246373 for how to root
The install of TWRP as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/general/guide-encryption-twrp-sony-devices-t3001721 does not work since I already encrypted before having the custrom recovery installed
So, any way to install TWRP despite my internal memory being encrypted already?
Thanks in advance! :good:
J
EDIT & Solution:
Okay, so installing TWRP works even with locked Bootloader, see NUTs XZDualRecovery. Big props, thx! --> click
Also see XDA Thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647480
Only problem now is that TWRP does not accept my PIN that use to unlock the encrypted partition. How can that be?
Anybody got some ideas?

I'm confused about flashing steps from one rom to another

Hello everyone,
I've flashed my phone before but it has been such a long time that I don't know If what I'm planning to do is correct. I'm running Pixel Experience with android 9, which I flashed via OrangeFox. I want to update my rom to a new one with android 10 (maybe official Lineage or new pixelexp). Can someone confirm that these are the correct steps to take, please?
1) Update OrangeFox if needed (I think I still have the latest stable release)
2) Format Data
3) Flash ROM
4) Flash Gapps if not included
5) Flash magisk
I have a couple more questions: I've read stuff about encrypted/decrypted and I don't know what that means. Is there a way to know what I'm doing, if I need any additional step to prevent loops or something? Like disabling fingerprints and pins on my phone or something?
Also, to update firmware, at which step do I do it? Is it a flashable zip too?
Sorry for so many questions. Thank you
