x722 QFIL is now available for hard bricks. See x722 Development Forum or scroll down for the link.
Although this thread is stickied in the Question & Answers sub-forum, I see that people are still ending up with bricked phones because they only visit this section of the forum. Let's hope this thread puts an end to accidental bricks once and for all (and let's hope that the future brings a solution to these bricked x722s).
Don't worry; custom 26s ROMs are fine to flash through TWRP. Vendor ROMs are fine to flash through TWRP.
Just don't flash the first stock 26s ROM you find online. Like the 26s ROM from Needrom, or a 26s ROM from a Chinese forum.
WARNING! There was a report that @STEVE_MARS's Genesys 26s ROM bricked a phone. See this post for reference. I urge you to stay away from that ROM and other eUI 26s based ROMs. You never know if your device will get bricked
Below lies the same info as is in the Q&A forum sticky.
Planning on flashing a custom ROM on your LeEco Pro3 Elite x722? Planning on flashing TWRP on your LeEco Pro3 Elite x722?
READ THIS ENTIRE POST FIRST, or you may accidentally brick your device
DO NOT flash official/stock 26s through TWRP.
DO NOT UPDATE TO official/stock 26s if you want to flash TWRP on your x722.
Your x722 will get permanently bricked if you install stock 26s (or firmware WIXCNFN5802005041S) through TWRP. That's because stock 26s permanently locks down the bootloader. At that point, only fastboot is available. Do not attempt this or you will end up with a permanently bricked device.
EDIT: As of September 24, 2018, @F.J.V has posted the x722's QFIL. Hooray! https://forum.xda-developers.com/le...ides-development--and-mods/qfil-x722-t3846553
HELP! I'm on 26s! I received my x722 and it's stuck on 26s! HOW DO I GET RID OF IT?
That's simple. If your x722 is on stock 26s, you only need to flash Batyan's 01D developer ROM (20s) through the stock LeEco recovery. Click for the download and instructions. Follow the instructions and you will be able to safely unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP.
However, most x722s are on vendor ROMs. If your phone is on a 26s vendor ROM, it's safe to flash. Look at the chart below to figure out if you've got stock 26s or vendor 26s. If you're not sure about what you have, post here and we'll try to help. If you don't want to take any chances, you can always downgrade to 01D first.
@dakok has created a handy chart for the different vendor ROMs here.
I just got my x722 today and I want to unlock the bootloader, root it, and flash TWRP. How do I do that?
Here you go: [GUIDE][X722] Unlock Bootloader + TWRP + ROOT
What ROMs are available for the x722? Will x720 ROMs work on the x722?
Some x720 ROMs are indeed compatible with the x722, but need to be ported to the x722, therefore not all x720 ROMs work on the x722. If the ROM is not specifically for your device (i.e. labelled as being for the x722), don't flash it. For example, MIUI is not available for the x722 because no one has ported it from the x720 to the x722. If you flash, say, MIUI 9 for LEX720 on your x722, you'll end up with a soft brick, most likely.
Remember to make a Nandroid backup of your eUI ROM before flashing any other ROM!
Downgrading to the 01D ROM won't harm your phone in any way, but this ROM's performance isn't the best compared to normal 20s or 26s vendor (shop) ROMs. It's a developer's ROM, after all. So if you ever want to return to eUI, you'll want to make a backup of your vendor/shop eUI ROM via Nandroid if you're sick of custom ROMs for whatever reason.
I want to go back to eUI from a custom ROM. What should I do?
If you want to return to the 01D 20s ROM, you have to flash it through the stock LeEco recovery, NOT TWRP! Do not attempt to flash the .bat file from this package or the update.zip from this package via TWRP or you might screw up your device royally. If you absolutely need to go back to this ROM for whatever reason, you need to flash the stock recovery first through fastboot.
I recommend you follow my advice and make a Nandroid backup of your 20s vendor/shop eUI ROM or the 01D ROM (if you had to downgrade because you were on a stock LeEco ROM) before flashing anything else on your device. Guys, it's basic XDA knowledge to make a Nandroid backup of stock software before attempting anything... c'mon now.
Feel free to correct/add to this thread as you see fit. Thanks.

I didn't know that x720s also suffered from this issue. But since the x720 has a QFIL file, hopefully you'll be able to resurrect your phone in case something goes horribly wrong.
I don't know what the LeEco login issue is. Have you tried Googling your issue? And have you tried actually resetting the password? I know a lot of LeEco servers are down, but it's worth a shot.
I found this thread on unbinding a device from a LeEco account using TWRP: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/how-to/tutorial-how-to-skip-unbid-leeco-account-t3657898
First, try to downgrade to 20s using this update.zip. Place update.zip at the root of the internal storage on your phone (where all the folders are): https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/how-to/5-9-020s-update-x720-t3506829
If that works and you can get into 20s without the LeEco login issue, you're golden, and you can flash TWRP again.
Hopefully you can still access stock recovery on 26s by holding down the volume up and power button. Or it might be a different combo. IDK.

You can start by removing all the quotes from your post!! Why the hell are you quoting my giant post 3 times in a row? Learn how this forum works before posting...
1. You must make a backup of your eUI ROM in TWRP using TWRP's backup function. How do you expect to restore a backup made with another recovery in TWRP?
2. No. All you need to do is make a backup of your eUI ROM in TWRP, then connect your phone to your PC and drag and drop the TWRP folder on your phone to your PC. That's your backup.
When you want to restore your backup, delete the TWRP folder on your phone, and copy and paste the folder you copied to your PC (i.e. the TWRP folder) back to the phone.

So as far as I know, the Qualcomm variant has no Oreo rom. But I came across a RR, and LOS 15 ROM. But don't want to risk bricking my device. It says XT1768, which is my devices model.
Here is the link: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=223472
As long as you have a Nandroid backup of your key partitions, flashing a custom ROM -- even if the ROM is corrupt or an incorrect build -- typically will not cause any major issues, especially not a brick. At worst, if the custom ROM bootloops or otherwise fails, you may simply boot back into TWRP and restore your stock Nandroid backup. If, on the off chance, your device will not boot into custom recovery, fastboot mode can be used to flash a full stock firmware package. Now don't get me wrong -- I'm not implying or advocating that it's okay to just flash a WTF.zip onto your device. In this instance, however, I think you would be totally safe giving it a try. All the ROMs on the link you provided appear to be legitimate, and the updater-script files do not flash your bootloader or other sensitive partitions. Worst case scenario --the ROM doesn't boot or it's too instable to use. Then just restore your Nandroid backup or fastboot flash a factory image.
Don't flash these roms! They will brick your phone. They are made for the Nicklaus (Moto E4 Plus). Not the perry

Those zips clearly say "nicklaus" which is the codename for the mediatek variant of the E4 Plus. Don't flash anything unless it says "perry". I recommend not installing anything you just happen to find on AFH anyway since things are uploaded there for testing and not always labeled as such.
Edit: as long as the dev added the device name to the BoardConfig.mk for the ota asserts, it should fail to flash on the wrong device anyway.
Hi! I'm fairly new to modding with Android, so please bear with me
I wanted to install LineageOS 15.1 on my x722 based Le Pro 3 Elite device, and basically all went well. I however didn't enjoy it fully.. I liked the old EUI better after using Lineage for about an hour. So I looked up a flash file, and attempted to flash it using TWRP. I have recently found out this was a bad idea. Basically when I flashed it, it had installed a chinese version of EUI. (I had purchased my device from Banggood, it didn't come with the chinese stuff). So I looked up a guide on here that would take me down to ver. 001D, and put me back to 020S by using a chinese .bat file after installing the 001D version of EUI. It didn't work, so I kept looking around and installing different things. Basically, where I am now is I am not able to boot into my phone. This was my daily driver, but sadly not anymore.
Whenever I try to access recovery, it will flash the recovery text, but then restart back into its boot loop. I am only able to access the blank screen (Hold down pwr, vol+ and vol-) and the Fastboot menu. Whenever I try to unlock the OEM, it tells me I cannot, and whenever I try to flash a stock recovery or a TWRP recovery, it tells me the device needs to be unlocked, or partition flashing is not allowed.
Is my device gone? or is there a way to get it back through something like FlashOne or somehow getting it back through fastboot or ADB?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, once again sorry if I sound like an idiot haha
Thanks!
First, never flash stock EUI in Recovery, it needs to be flashed from ADB.
You could try using the ALL In One Tool to restore you phone to stock, by flashing the current version of EUI ( the one that came with the phone)
Mauronofrio's tool is called: "TOOL ALL IN ONE"" and it's has a link to the stock Roms for many devices.
Install the program and setup PC first
After you install it, make sure to check for AIT updates, and ADB updates. Plus give ADB system wide privileges, I would suggest that you disable antivirus and firewall so the program can download drivers and software without issue.
Get it here:*https://toolaio.tk**
Go to theXDA page for Le pro 3 instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-...1#post71627491
Read how to use it within that thread. However, its fairly intuitive.
* The all is one tool is excellent and you can use it to install everything you want.
* You can use it to unlock the bootloader, if needed
* Remove Encryption, if needed
* Install TWRP, when needed
* Install your Rom, Gapps and Magisk etc., if or when needed
* The tool will also update your existing installation of ADB, Android Drivers, and provide system wide ADB privileges
At first I was going to tell you that no Qfil is available for the Elite X722, and your phone is not fixable. However, it sounds like maybe? Hoepfully you are lucky and probably not actually hard bricked? You say that you are able to boot into recovery and fastboot right?
If that is the case you should be able to recover your phone., and reflash the proper EUI.
I do not have a X722 , so you need to search XDA for others that have had this similar issue. Look for recent post, some of the older posts from early 2017 is now outdated or just incorrect, such as you finding the chinese version of EUI.
I would recommend that you go to a X722 thread and look for someone that has had a similar issue with their own X722.
Btw, there are plenty of fantastic roms that are much better than EUI but you need to be more careful about what you flash, and ensure that you know what you are doing first.
Try asking Gabronog in the AOSIP forum, I am pretty sure that he has a X722.

Thankyou so much for this!
One sad thing though, OEM is locked and I don't have a way of unlocking it. Recovery does attempt to launch and open, but it doesn't want to. I see the recovery screen, the screen you see when you try to load into it, but then it just reboots the phone. OEM is locked, and Recovery does not work.
Thanks!

Does fast boot work?
If it does you can try these files : emmc_appsboot.mbn and xbl.elf using adb. You can get those files by unzipping the X722 firmware and then placing those files in your platform-tools folder.
If you cannot get into fastboot, then I am sorry your phone is hard bricked and unfortunately Leeco never released the Qfil for the X722 to the public..
Hard Bricked Options
Replace the motherboard with the motherboard from the X720 or X727 ( Yes, it will work)
Try to return the phone to Bangood under warranty, " It just stopped working" This has been a working option for some people. Worst case scenario maybe they have a way to fix it, or will send you an exchange replacement for a fee
Good Luck
I'm sorry to tell you that you can not do anything.
The fastboot does not work for you, because you do not have permissions, it can only be fixed with qfil, and it does not exist for X722.
Greetings.
Your device is bricked without a fix. I wish you read the sticky here and in the x722 development forum before doing anything.
I want to go back to Le Eco original ROM(Android6 6?), but I am using 8.1 ROM now...What should I do?
Should I flash old bootloader? Where can I find the files? Thanks.

Backup everything on your phone to computer. You will need to format data in TWRP (you will lose everything on internal storage).
For flashing:
- In Twrp just normal flashing, Wipe everything with additional step > Format data
- Flash the rom, Gapp if needed and reboot
- If you have Twrp back up of stock 6.0 Eui rom you can restore it (so no flashing if you restore backup)
- Stock rom you can download just search it
This is the Eui new version (the one said Eui), 3 rd link at bottom I have not try: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77435630&postcount=503
Thank you Sir, I will try I today.

No intended disrespect to Moon75, but i tried that that Rom and its absolute garbage. Plus, its not official.
if you want pure stock and have a X720 flash 5.8.26s if you have a X727 flash 5.8.20s or you can save time and flash my recovery and then your firmware.

Hey guys, how are you? So, let me explain my situation - I have a Redmi 7A (the 16 GB version) and I recently unlocked its bootloader to root, and uninstall some bloatwares ...... I managed to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP recovery, but I was unable to root, and i tried in a lot of ways, in a lot of times........... I'm on version 11.0.6 of MIUI, and I saw that some users here were having problems with this version too. Anyway, recently a MIUI update came out, and soon it will update to MIUI 12, but I'm not able to install the OTA update, after the phone restarts, it goes to TWRP recovery and shows an error message - so, I would like to go back to my original recovery and re-lock my bootloader, but for that I need the original recovery of the Redmi 7A, and I can't find it anywhere........
Someone here have this original recovery available to send or do upload? It would help me a lot! Thanks

Soo... I have problem too with root and I make temp root (unsafe method) . Patching boot img is idiot idea now , same as re-lock bootloader . I'm DEV and i'm know (look on my threads if you don't think). Better idea for you is download global rom or rom designed for your region . Actually i wipe my global rom and I install rom with android 10 . I have english only without polish support . All rom's is here : https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/pine/ If you want to unbrick your device , download correct rom , and flash . For your bricked device is only fastboot rom for unbrick . In google you find how to install adb and fastboot drivers , disable check signatures of drivers in your windows , adb and fastboot exe file (if you have windows as me) etc. . Good luck . Disclaimer: After re-lock bootloader , your software and data be bricked , you must flash all with data too . Make copy of data to google or sd card

Heyyo, For those who had to QFIL and their x2 now is stuck with split screen and if you can't navigate TWRP? Try this out
Please NOTE! This WILL wipe your userdata! You've been warned!
https://mega.nz/file/zqx0WK4K#HiR0Iv44ZFN75VJ4ydg-bxAWoBC6uM7gk-NhbZpXNAE
Make sure your x2 is in fastboot mode and USB is plugged into your PC.
If you're using Windows? Please run the fash-all.bat
If you're using Linux? Please run the flash-all.sh from terminal.
After you're done with this? I would recommend switching to EUI ROM 30s or something and then format data and switch to a custom ROM.
Good luck!
Hello. Thank you for upload fastboot flashable EUI Rom. I installed it successfully. I had split screen issue with Qfil flashable rom.
Unfortunately split screen issue is not solved. Please let me know what point I have to check. My lemax2 original version is LeEco LEX821. (LeMax2_WW)
6G memory and 64G storage version.
Heyyo @JPsato254 , dang that's unfortunate that it didn't work for you hmm... Well? The next thing to try would be the official stock EUI ROM 14s and see if that works. I would recommend using TWRP 3.1.0-0 for this as newer TWRP versions might not want to flash EUI ROM 14s. http://g3.letv.cn/186/36/69/letv-hdtv/0/upload/tmp/20160603113824161/LE_X2_X820-CN-FN-FEXCNFN5601405314S-5.6.014S.zip?b=123456&platid=5&splatid=500

I may be late to the party, but even after flashing to 14s version I still have the same problem. It's a firmware related problem (not ROM, firmware, like the NON-HLOS.bin file).
EDIT: Flashed 21s Indian ROM, works now.
