Battery replacement Issue - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone faced Nexus 6p battery replacement and your phone will auto-shutdown and unable to turn on but through charging.
I have tried two OEM Nexus 6p batteries and result are same, either turn on camera or other app, phone will turn off automatically and unable to turn on again, till you plug in charging cable.

My replacement battery is good, try to adb sideload full ota image, might fix your issues

Whole lot of the OEM specific stating batteries on eBay and such usually are not OEM batteries. I just bought one and received it in the mail today and installed it in my phone and so far so good however I also ordered a charger port because mine's kind of messed up and it does not quick charge. if all is well I will link you to the battery that I got. However it's not an oem battery it states that it's an oem battery but you can obviously tell that it is not an oem battery. I kind of found it funny that the manufacture date on the battery actually was dated today haha

Battery Issues

So my old battery died, and I bought two new ones, put one in, and it worked, it lasted about 3 weeks, then it wouldn't charge from the wall, so I used my pc and a usb cable, but then that stopped working too, it would say charging, but the percentage would go down, instead of up, so I put in the other new battery, that one lasted about a month.
And the same thing happened, for example, the day before yesterday, it wouldn't charge, yesterday it did charge, but today it's not charging again, I've tried everything to fix this, different batteries, underclocking the phone, usb and wall chargers, resseting the battery history, nothing seems to work, the phone only charges when it wants, I've looked online and found no good advice on how to resolve this, is it time for a new phone, or can I fix this, and how.
Has no one here had this issue and corrected it before?
Sounds like a problem with cheap chinese, batteries instead of proper OEM ones. If so, I'd just suggest buying some other ones from reputable sources.

Well, today it was charging again.

Intermittent Charging Issues?

I have an issue with my phone charging. I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or a ROM issue so I figured I would post about it. In short, when I plug my phone in to charge (either through USB or wall adapter) the phone charges for 15 minutes and then stops. The amber light just cuts off and it doesn't start charging again until I unplug the cable and plug it back in. Anyone have any idea what may be causing this? I tried to search the best I could but didn't find anything
Software Details:
Froyo 2.2.1
Cmylxgo's stock desire HD 2.03n (nand)
mdj kernel
Do you use an OEM battery or after-market? I have the same situation, but it only happens to my after-market batteries. Now those batteries of mine only take charges from the external charger.
Thanks for the insight. To be honest, I'm not sure if it's an OEM battery. I bought it from this cell phone shop. Does the OEM battery have any writing on it that mentions HTC? My battery is completely black on the front side and on the back it has a silver sticker that says "WaRrAnTy D-10".
If the battery ends up being an issue I'm going to return the phone, because they advertised it as new but I'm finding a lot of stuff missing from the box :\

[FAULT] Battery not holding or taking charge even when showing that it is charging...

Hi everyone - I hope this isn't a redundant or duplicate thread however all information I can find on battery problems centre around the issue of having to power off via the bootloader. This is different. A little backstory....*wibbly lines*
My N7 is two weeks old. Last week I decided to make a pogo pin dock for charging and I guess this is where the problems started. Whether this is coincidental or not is difficult to ascertain. The tablet no longer recognises USB chargers (stock or otherwise), however it had been sporadically charging for short period via USB and now not at all. It has been possible to charge via the pogo pins, yet leaving the house today with a 100% charge and minimal usage the battery was dead less than six hours later. Minimal like, less than 15mins of non-intensive work. Battery history details shows 1h 55m on battery with a slow decline over that entire period to maybe 95% then a total drop to nothing. Plugging in the tablet to my pogo charger shows charging both in the OS and in the black and white powered off charging script. The N7 will boot up however the battery shows 0% and has done for the last couple of hours. Removing the pogo charger shuts the N7 off straight away - whether that is battery deadness or OS terminating because of an apparent flat battery, unsure.
I suspect that something is very very wrong here. Possibly screwed battery management? Faulty battery? Anybody else with the same experience would be gratefully welcomed into the discussion. I'm about to start an RMA and wondering whether I should flash back to a stock kernel/ROM and wipe the tablet first....
Nice to see a warm flow of conversation over this fault.
Unit RMA'ed. I doubt I'll get feedback as to the cause of the problem as I pushed for a complete replacement since repair would take 2-3 weeks off a device only a little over a week out of the box. Hmph.
Good luck with the replacement unit.
Based on the chronology you describe (& other factors) I think I would be reluctant to use your homemade charger on the replacement.

[Q] Odd behaviour

Will boot ONLY without a battery in it and it plugged into the USB cable
Stick a battery in it and then it goes into dead battery charging mode (and never leaves it), pull the USB cord and it dies.. desn't matter if its a full battery or a dead one.
Gives when plugged in and no battery the ? over the battery symbol..
Bad motherboard..? I have a few spares I can part together. Just wondering what I should look at.
BTW also have used WindowPhoneHacker to update it to 7.8 (IT was doing this before the updates and is still doing it with all the new firmware and such)
<UPDATE>
New weirder thing..
Turned ON Battery Saver and now it took a battery and is charging it while staying properly booted.
I can't complain I paid $40 for it on ebay and it was still protective wrapped. SO I got it for parts thinking I could fix it. I have already replaced keyboards and screens on the DVP.. so at worse it was a new screen.

Well although turning battery saver on it was able to work. As soon as I unplugged it from the computer it turned off.
Any ideas..? Anyone..?
The port miswired..? Is that possible..?
Bad MB ?
Bad SDCard?
Love to save this virtually brand new DVP, instead of using it for parts.

[Q] USB Charging problem. PLEASE HELP!!

The USB charger does
not seem to power the device
enough to get it to power on. It needs a battery
that has been charged up.
When I ordered a new battery, the phone
powered right up! But, as I was
trying to troubleshoot the problem, the battery
eventually drained to 0.
The problem occurred after I replaced the front
glass. I upgraded to 4.3
after I ordered a new battery after draining the
original one. I was hoping that a fresh OS install
might help the problem,
but it did not. The phone ran the same with 4.2
as with 4.3. I handled the
motherboard with great care when doing the
repair, and the phone worked perfectly before
that. (I have done many successful phone
repairs). I suppose it's possible that the
motherboard was damaged somehow, but it has no
sign of damage and the only
problem is the battery not charging. charging
sign- It did show when the battery was charged.
Now that the battery has drained down,I will
sometimes get an orange light when plugging in
the USB charger.
The battery has drained to the point that the
charging animation indicator on the screen no
longer appears. The battery has been drained to
the point where it does not have enough
power to boot the phone..

My battery suddenly started dying extremely quickly, and sometimes the phone showed that it was charging from a USB cable to the computer instead of through a wall adapter. I have also replaced the front screen assembly and am on 4.3. What the hell is going on? Tons of people with issues like this.

go to original stock. you will come to know wheather is sofware problem or a hardware. you will be able to troubleshoot in a better way.
Already have. Looks like a hardware issue.
I gotta say...this phone has been all kinds of problems for me.
