No way mate, really, just this??? I tried and it worked, also removing the SD card was giving the same result, but better uninstalling nova that to have issues with the sd card. Your great man, thanks
Nova isn't causing this for me on the beta :S weird.
I ran Nova fine with the reader
Had the same delayed fingerprint unlock issue. Went away after replacing Nova which has been my default launcher for years.

Uninstalling Nova didn't actually get rid of
the fingerprint delay. I eventually figured out it was my immersive mode settings which causes issues on open beta. Changed the settings and the fingerprint to wake works great.

adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=apps,-com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox
This just hides the navbar but replacing navigation with full will hide both navbar and status bar with no fingerprint delay.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced having 2 lockscreens? I had swipe enabled for a while until I unlocked it in my pocket. I now have a pattern lockscreen but it first goes to swipe lockscreen then to my pattern. I thought this was unusual and was wondering if anyone else has this issue?
Are you using nova launcher?

Yes I'm using Nova
Never has that. I'm using nova. My lockscreen is fingerprint. I'm getting double lockscreen if I enable tap to sleep.
Using Nova as well but no tap to sleep anything. After unlocking with fingerprint it says something like "Pattern required for added security". Very annoying.
Do you use the "trusted devices" setting? I've had this happen while having that setting enabled. I turned it off and haven't had an issue since.

It's the double tap to sleep option. If you set that to none it will no longer give you the 2 lockscreens

Not using that setting. I've tried switching lockscreen methods then restarting but nothing works. It's not a big deal to me but I would like to unlock my phone without having a two step process.
Has anybody been able to get the fingerprint scanner to bypass a secondary security feature to open the phone after doing double tap to sleep while using a different launcher? I like Action Launcher 3 but so far every double tap to sleep app that can be controlled by AL3's gestures requires knock code to open the phone even if the fingerprint scanner is used to wake the phone. I found one that worked with my previous phone (GS7E) but it's not compatible with this phone. So far every app I've tried hasn't worked (including ones that say they are MM fingerprint compatible).
Sent from my LG-H918 using Tapatalk
Ohh... So that's what happens. I thought my phone was randomly turning off the fingerprint feature. Using Nova and that's happening to me as well
It's something that's been happening since MM
you can double tap the status bar and it will work but limits you to double tap only on that area (even the Nova beta has the issue too)
In MM there was a workaround using Screen Lock Pro app form the playstore, but it no longer works in Nougat
Hoping the developer fixes it soon(if possible).
If youre rooted nova allows you to use fingerprint after double tap to sleep now

Use the app DTSO from the Google Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.enlace.doubletap&hl=en
Place an invisible widget on your homescreen & you have DTTS.
Yes,you do need to make room for a widget on your homescreen, but, unless you cram pack your desktop with apps/floders/etc...,this shouldn't be hindrance.
Will this work with secure locking,IDK,I just use swipe to open, but,if you're looking to regain DTTS,it's worth a shot.

DTTS is not the problem, we can get it to do that.
The issue is the secure lock and wanting to use fingerprint sensor on the subsequent wake.

I've had absolutely zero issues with my FP scanner and Nova Launcher Prime. I just tested your issue (double tap status bar, then unlock with fingerprint). I went straight back to Chrome, where I was previously. No secondary security hurdle at all. I'm on the tmobile variant.

Yes on the status bar it's fine but not any open spots on the homepage.

I've got double-tap on my home screen set to open Google Now. I didn't even think you could turn off the screen double tapping anywhere but the status bar?
Anyone else exhibiting this behaviour ?... reboot does not resolve the issue for me..
https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/co...home_screen_almost/?utm_source=reddit-android
Edit:The best way to recreate this behavior is using recents to go into any app then turn off the screen using power button,...then using power button (faceunlock) or tap and fingerprint to turn screen on again, ......phone reverts to homescreen instead of the app.
I believe that it's by nature.
I have the same thing happening with the OP6 on Open Beta 6.

If its happening with the OP6 too then I would say they both have the bug, It can't be normal functioning for the unlock to revert to homescreen only when you happened to have used recents to enter an app.
To be clear when you open an app normally, then lock and unlock you stay in the app, however if you use recents to go into an app that you recently used or even the one you are now, then lock and unlock, you are taken to the homescreen.
No, mine happens when I lock the device with power button or have the screen time out, I unlock it and it goes back to the home screen.
This started with open beta 6, which is loosely based on 6T (9.0.4).
Hey guys, was experiencing the same issue on my OnePlus 6T as well. As it turns out, the issue is with the custom launcher.
If you use a custom launcher such as Nova or Action, the issue persists.
https://themrphone.com/article/oneplus-6t-fingerprint-scanner-flaw
However, with the stock OnePlus Launcher, there is no such issue.

Do we still need to use oneplus launcher for it to work? I am using nova launcher.
Update. Nevermind the update fixed my issue too and I am using Nova.
I’m having the same issue on 9.0.5 no matter using stock launcher or Nova.
When unlocked goes straight to home screen for example using double tap.
Only when using fingerprint sensor and use double tap does not go to straight to home screen but to lock screen(both stock launcher or Nova)
With my 5T when used double tap to wake never went straight to home screen when not had fingerprint active.
OnePlus launcher 3.1.2 9th of November released.
Nova version 6 beta 5.

Make sure you have the updated OnePlus Launcher from PlayStore (Version 3.1.2.181109163305) (sorry didn't read the last part of your post)
If issue still persists I would recommend clear cache from recovery and Clear Storage and Cache from OnePlus Launcher app.. (this did it for another person that was saying updated launcher didn't fix issue straight away)

Clearing cache from recovery would be faster, and maybe it'll work ...who knows...give it a try before the whole reset thing

ok clear cache from recovery didn't help but hard reset did help.:good:
Now both Nova and stock launcher when pressing double tap to wake go to lock screen not straight to home screen
What a mess and bizzard issue was
Never mind problem solved and that's matter at the end
Nope using Nova and not happening here, locking any way and unlocking and the last app left open is still open.
I have a problem with the apps not going fullscreen when I enable that option in settings. The only way too have the apps in fullscreen is by enabling gestures. I'm using nova launcher but it's the same thing with Samsung launcher.

You need to go into settings /display / full screen apps and enable each one you want.
You need to take it off auto.
Already said that I've tried that and it doesn't work.

You said you enabled it in settings, that is vague as you can enable it in settings yet you still have to take it off of auto on each individual application.
It's working fine for you? I think I need to do a reset.

I did reset but still not working. Also edge lighting doesn't work. Maybe the phone is faulty? What can I do?
Went to a shop that was displaying the S10+ and tried to see if it's working but it's the same.
Is anyone using Nova and if so are the Android 10 gestures working? On my Pixel 4 XL they were working on Nova. Not working on the S20. Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?
Same thing, totally bumming me out. Works on the stock samsung launcher.

I got the warning on the Pixel when I installed Nova that the gestures would not work but they ended up working just fine.
Same, I still might go back it but I'm liking the s20 so far. Bet there is a launcher that is compatible, I'm going to need it because I'm so acclimated to the gestures at this point.
Sorry wrong thread

The options on the "full screen gestures" nav are blocked when you use Nova Launcher unfortunately.
Temporary solution for me. Good Lock and one handed operation. At least I can get back swipe to go back.
I use edge gestures and have it setup so that swipe from left to right is back, swipe down is home, and swipe up is recents apps
Then use immersive manager to hide navigation bar. That's been my setup for a while and is the first thing I do when seeing up a new phone
Just a heads up to those looking for another possible solution

I think this is great for the home screen, but the idea is to be able to use the gestures in every app.

Edge Gestures does work in every app. It's an app in the play store that I was referring to
I was describing my setup with that app and not Nova Gestures, which I also use. Sorry for any confusion
Best way around it is use Nova launcher with fluid gestures, work awesome!
you can use the gestures of android 10 with nova using this command by adb, I have it activated.
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural

Can confirm this works.
You can disable it by changing the settings back and forth.

works like a charm bro. thanks for the help. it was really helpful.
earlier i was using a Oneplus 6T, so with it even after warning message from nova on gestures, full screen gestures worked smoothly. once i moved to S20+ 2 weeks back i was looking for the option on how to enable this option as default launcher sucks once u used Nova.
