Morning everyone.
I have been searching and trying but found nothing so far. I have a pumpkin head unit and have installed car launcher which is a great app. However on boot up the radio app starts automatically (quite loud too) but as it's the Mrs car she doesn't want the radio to load up first and as loud as it does. I have tried setting car launcher to load on start up but does not work as the radio app still does it. I have also tried numerous apps such as autostart but non of these apps find the radio or car launcher to select which one starts or disable one on start up.
Any advice would be appreciated on either getting the radio not to start or even able to select volume to be quieter on start up would also be advantageous.
Hope that makes sense.
Thank you in advance
Andy
With my headunit (not joying btw) I can go to Settings > Factory Settings > Enter Password (usually 126) > Audio (or similar) and can adjust audio for all sorts, example, Radio, GPS etc
Usually has a slider 1-10 (or 20) and just make the radio audio maybe 3 or so sliders down, or whatever suits you
But you might not have this "Factory Settings" option, but there might be something similar perhaps
I had to edit this way for my GPS, as the GPS voice was too quite compared to the Radio, so whilst the Headunit Radio was set at 15, the GPS was sooo quiet, so I went into these Audio settings and changed the slider on my GPS to almost max, and now the GPS is perfectly overpowering the Radio Voice , if that makes sense

This video shows the same steps for me, when he goes into Factory Settings , you'll be able to use "Voice" tab, that's where these audio sliders are
On Joying HU (hope on other brands too) there is a setting: at what volume should HU start. Hope this helps.
Unfortunately I can't find this setting at all. There is no factory setting at all. I have been into the sound and notifications settings too....hmm I'm at a pass really
An app called Startup Manager (free) works for me on my Joying.
Write up for Startup Manager (free) to disable the radio app from automatically starting after fresh boot.
Sticks after reboot for me. Radio app does not automatically start once set.
If I try the Startup Manager on my phone the DPI is way off and too small to read but it works fine on the headunit.
Once you start it, it's says there is a newer app with more features, but just hit the button to stay with this one and it works great.
It comes up with 3 tabs. User apps, system apps and custom. Be careful and don't click anything under the system tab unless you know exactly what it is. You could cause needed system apps not to load on reboot. Under system apps is where you find the radio app. Just click on the minus symbol beside the radio app and your good to go. If you want anything to automatically boot, you can add that under the custom tab.

Thank you the response. I have tried that one as I've read it somewhere.. ..however for some reason the radio app doesn't appear on it which confused me alot!! Also tried the newer one it recommended just in case that one would work. But no success though
You cannot turn radio off at startup.
Run aux and next time you turn on the unit it goes to aux automatically instead of radio.
I have this same issue with both the new Xtrons 8.0 and an older 6.0 headunit. Even if the radio function is disabled through the factory settings page, it will then just start up in another function when it awakes from sleep (music/video/etc). It is absolutely maddening and Xtrons support has been useless. Have you found any workable solutions?
I own a Fünrover head-unit, running Android 6.
I have the same requirement: to stop FM radio app which is starting automatically, because I want to use DAB+ app instead.
Startup Manager (Free) does not show me Radio app in the system tab, but I have been able finally to stop it by auto-starting Video app with Startup Manager.
The only remaining problem is that Startup Manager is starting very lately (almost 1 minute after Radio app start)
Do you have any idea how i could change the boot order to speed up Startup Manager start?
Sorry to resurrect this thread. But this is literally the only thing that bugs me about the Joying unit I have. Has anybody had this issues and solved it? I've tried tasker(may not be setup properly, startup manager and a task killer. Damn radio app sets the volume to 15 everytime!
I'll send an email to Joying asking about this over the weekend. But would love any input.
Battery?
Hello, I have the same problem but not always. If it starts up with loud sound I have to power it off and on. Cant do anything els when the problem is there. Don,t know if it is the same problem like you have.
For what I know is that it's the car battery. When I drive not enough and have the radio eating battery more than it have charged, the power will be to low on the next time you start up the radio and I think the radio will not boot up right.
I,m going to upgrade my battery with some more amp and one that charges fast. Hope thate wil solve the problem.
These radio,s like to use battery when powered on.
Default volume
I have joying and to adjust start up volume I go to settings>car>extra settings>power on/off setting>default volume on-off have mine set at 5
My problem is a little different. The Radio app show on the screen after every startup instead of Home screen. i have to press a Home button every startup. Is there a way to override this? I still want to Radio to play, just not see the app on the foreground.

This question is asked again and again on this forum for all brands.
You can't stop this. Not on a Joying and not on any other unit. And note that the radio app is actually only an interface that forwards commands to and receives data from the radio chip via the MCU. It is not an active app like your mediaplayer that does everything in Android.
When the unit boots, the hardware is up and running long before Android is. That means that the radio chip and amplifier are already working before Android has even booted. That is why you hear the radio. And that is why every manufacturer starts the radio app on boot: to enable you to mute the radio channel from the app.
The radio is never switched off as it cannot be switched off. It is only muted.

Update MTCU! Mine came with 2.78 en all above that solved my problem.
You can also check you're factory settings if you can disable going to last used app at startup.
If you need help/advise you can sent me a PM.
I'm thinking it may be a wiring issue. Is the blue amp/radio trigger wire on the aftermarket harness connected to amp/radio wire on the harness? If so, you might try splicing the blue wire into the 12V ACC wire on the harness. This would only turn the radio on after ignition on(its a switched wire) and power goes through the head unit - not first through the cars radio, then through the head unit... I believe it is a function to allow the radio to play even when key removed. But you can stop that by routing the trigger wire to a switched wire.

to prevent launch ,go to setting for andriod, for each app, like radio ,music ,launcher, ,go to setting ,change permissions, auto not allowed , over ride not allowed, then take out key of car, then try ,to start after lights of system go off, this may solve ,other wise try to prevent permissin of othe apps in similar way. basically to many app are given permission to launch so some app launch .check for each app.
This is a wiring issue. In some cars, like VW, following the wiring instructions provided in the manual makes the head unit losing the saved settings (e.g. saved radio stations) or the FM radio turning on automatically when you start the car. To resolve this kind of issues, change the position of two wires. On the head unit's socket: red wire goes to yellow wire's position, and yellow wire goes to red wire's position.
This is actually bothering me too.
The thing is , this was not aways this way, somehow i disabled the frequency that the stereo hardware operates and this never happened before, i could not use fm radio tho , but it didnt bothered me because i have a memory stick, but after i enable the function this has been an issue.. dont know how to fix this either... think i might disable the radio back again on the factory settings..
just got a joying , mine does the same after I've left the car off for a few days and it boots from scratch. Auto loads the radio. It's a android 8 single din. Any fix for this?

Hi all.
I stumbled upon these forum by googling my issue. So far I haven't found any answers to my problems, so hoping for some help from the great people on here.
I have recently installed a seicane 10.1 android head unit into my jeep wrangler.
It appears to have a few little issues like audio is automatically somewhat louder on start up ...... but my main issue is
Only the radio app has sound.... no other apps have sound.
All speakers are working correctly with the radio app. Canbus setting is correct. But no sound output from the other apps.
If anyone has experienced this and can shed some light on it for me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.
If it is a new unit,I guess you car may has factory amp,you need to connect the head unit amp harness to your car amp harness.
If the unit used for several months, then other apps no sound,I guess the main board is broken.
It is better for you to contact the seller for help.
May be a shot in the dark, but you might have hooked the amp wire up to the 'powered antenna' wire by mistake. If you tune to a radio station, that wire will get power and you will hear the sound, but if you are on a different app, that wire will not get power and you will not hear sound.
The amp wire coming from the radio will always have power and will work on all apps, and they are both blue and easy to confuse.
Pklains advice wprked for me.
The remote wire is black on the back of my unit. I accidentally hooked up blue antenna wire so it only powered amp when radio app was on.
I was NOT wiring it up incorrectly.
It was a software fault. I since got a replacement from the manufacturer (took 3 long months) since installing the replacement it worked perfectly.
hi ... same thing happened to me. Check your system. If your speaker lines is going through any amp, bridge, crossover or whatnot then do not supply CAR'S signal wire from ANDROIDS radio antenna signal wire (the android unit's antenna wire has +12v only when radio is on) - test audio by supplying 12v to your CAR'S signal wire. Simple yet it took me some time to figure things out. I hope this helps out someone who has the same problem.
Also it is not advisable to connect ANDROID amplified output to VEHICLES AMP - should be pre-amp from ANDROID to AMP or use LINE OUTPUT CONVERTERS or DIY (search speaker level to line level adapter ... a simple voltage divider worked for me) make sure you know car amps impedance before anything else ( industry standard is 10k )
I have the same problem with my PX6. The unit worked for a few months, but all of a sudden I only get sound from the FM radio.
Any advice?

did you find a solution to this? I sometimes get this, the only way for me to fix it is by doing a hard restart by pressing powerbutton for 15seconds

for me it's random, i have to force restart the unit to get sound working on stuff that's not radio/beeps.

I get it all the time, but it started with a lot of "static noice" from the speakers. That went away if I rebooted the device. The unit worked again for a few minutes and the problem with the noice was back. One day it just went totally silent except beep and FM radio

I had to desolder the amplifier (TDA7851L) and replace it with a new one. Not easy, but everything works for me now
I don't see my exact problem, which is very similar to everyone here. I get sound from the Radio app - but if I use the Radio app, I lose sound everywhere else. I retain the ability to use the Radio for sound. This also happens upon a reset, as if it starts the radio first or something - but the app doesn't need to be started for that to be a problem. This started upon initial installation.
Fun thing: If I power off the car (battery still connected of course), wait a few minutes, then try stuff, I get sound everywhere. Until I use the Radio app, of course. Naturally it decides to reboot when it feels like it, so this is annoying.
I have an Eunavi HU. The same heppened to me after upgrading the firmware with a file provided by manufacturer. No sound, only on radio. After few messages with the manufacturer here is the solution that worked: Factory settings->DSP settings->ARM Audio Input Selection-> check Analog Input. Hope this solution will help someone.
HelloI have this problem with my ts10 hu
Hi. After changing Canbus setting in my android head unit, I haven't any sound in all app and radio in my HU. Please help me.
Hello, new to forum. I tried searching but I have several questions that I can’t quite pinpoint so decided to just ask.
Recently purchased a cheap Android head unit off eBay for my suburban. Immediately after install I was disappointed and frustrated trying to figure everything out, but now I’m thinking it’s not user error but more of a software issue or a settings issue I’m not familiar with.
I’ll get straight to it.
Once installed I had no sound through Bluetooth, usb, or any installed app (YouTube, Apple Music, etc).
I found that the radio app did work, and after tinkering with some settings I got Bluetooth working (not sure what I did, think I was in the equalizer car settings). Well the next day I drove it for the first time and after a few minutes sound went out again. Switched to radio and works fine. So I did a full factory reset, and now it’s really screwy.
Now, Bluetooth only plays if I open the radio app. Radio does not work at all, the app opens and acts frozen, but if I hit play on my phone I get my music. If I open the Bluetooth app, sound cuts off. Music still shows playing on my phone, and when i reopen the radio app it pauses on the phone, I hit play and sound comes back. Still no sound through YouTube or any other music source, BUT voice turn by turn works through google maps.
I’ve tried doing a factory reset multiple times now (yes the full reset).
I tried downloading a new launcher, started with the carwebguru which resulted for some reason music only playing when the radio app was open, if I went back to the home screen or changed apps sound cut out. So I deleted it and downloaded FCC and it’s back to the way it was, Bluetooth plays through the radio app, and I can now switch back to other apps and music continues playing until I reopen another app that plays sound.
So, does this sound like this is a settings issue, hardware issue, or app issue? If it’s an app issue, what are some good apps to replace them with? I see a ton of fm radio apps but not sure if they’ll work, not really any Bluetooth apps, and I use Apple Music on my iPhone and have it downloaded on the stereo (although it doesn’t have sound, either).
Thanks!
Update. After playing around with some settings, I’m feel like I’m getting somewhere but not fixing the issue.
I went under the factory settings from car settings. Radio settings were set to NXP6851 and I changed it to FM Inside.
After doing so, the radio app works flawless but Bluetooth no longer plays through the radio app. Still no sound from YouTube or Apple Music.
So I set it back to the NXP6851 and sure enough, radio app is frozen and Bluetooth plays from my phone through the radio app.
I made a test phone call and Bluetooth works, but only through the radio app. If I open the Bluetooth app all sounds shut off.
Now, after playing around with it, I found that I can get the internal apps to play sound if I do the following: open radio, play music through my phone, back to home screen and open an app (Apple Music is what I used) and hit the play button. It stopped the music from my phone and started playing through the app!
I was excited as all hell, but it only played for maybe 5 minutes then the sound shut off again. Cleared all apps and sure enough, again the same process let me play music through the apps but only produce sound for a few minutes (not even one song).
Still messing with it. Anybody have any advice?
Thanks!
Figured it out. Not sure why but there’s an app called “mode” with two arrows in a circle. Hit it once and now everything works as it should. If i hit it again it goes back to just the radio working.
I have been having a serious issue with my head unit ever since I got it. Well, actually, not me, but everyone who I talk to on my phone with it over bluetooth, in particular when my DVR is recording the dashcam. When the built-in DVR is recording the dashcam, it keeps making a loud buzz sound every 5 seconds to the receiving end of the call. That is, I don't hear it, but anyone I'm talking to on the other end of the call does. It is very loud and irritating, to such a degree that I have to turn off the DVR every time I'm in a call. Obviously, this shouldn't happen. Additionally, I find the same thing happens when making a call with Skype installed on the radio, which wouldn't be using bluetooth at that point, so it seems somehow either the dashcam itself (it is not the DVR software, I tried another software that did the same thing) or a hardware issue is creating noise on the line-in or mic in the sound system that goes out to the other end of the call. I've tried support from the "manufacturer", but they aren't much use and I don't intend to send the unit back to China and wait to get it back for 4 or 5 months. I suspect it isn't likely to be the dashcam, so for some reason there seems to be feedback on the USB line to the sound module.
So, I'd appreciate any ideas here. I've also tried numerous other DVR apps, but it seems that pretty much none of them function correctly with the USB dashcam that came with the radio. I don't know if it's an issue with the specific camera or that it's a USB interface for the camera. So, I'd appreciate any experience anyone can offer to resolve this.
Other than these issues, I've got it working the way I want. I installed a cooling fan on the PX5 CPU. I need to put a capacitor in parallel with it still as I think it's causing the LCD to flicker slightly. It came with Android 8, so I installed Android 9 on it. Upgraded the MCU. I also replaced the plain WIFI antenna wire with a plugin port so I can connect a better wifi antenna. I found an app that allows me to force a normal reboot instead of the pseudo-reboot it does with the power button because Android sometimes needs an actual real reboot.
There are some really annoying quirks about the radio too that if anyone knows how to change I'd be very grateful. For one, the Accessibility Services keep getting disabled when the radio is shutdown with the car. It seems to be a memory function built into the device as it doesn't happen with a real normal reboot. Also, the wifi sometimes gets shut off, I assume for the same reason. And the lack of security really really bugs me.
That's not an issue it's a feature I guess they didn't want to dedicate a PCB layer to route analog signals I even wonder if they have a dedicated layer for power. Anyway the problem is they run analog lines next to/under digital lines and no ground plane to isolate the 2. There is a mic mod thread that addresses those issues if you're interested.
Maybe just installing an external mic would be sufficient if your HU already has a connector for it. As for your other issue, check the factory settings menu there should be a setting to restore the unit to previous state on reboot. Sorry I can't remember the exact name of it.

I have an external mic. It doesn't help. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the mic mod. It's probably what I've been looking for. As for the factory settings, I don't seem to have an option to restore the unit previous state in my factory settings.

I have solved this on my peugeot 308 with alps FF5000 8227L demo device. Problem is in memory. It deletes some settings after vehicle shudown, or when you change some settings in advanced menu (8888) all times.
My solution is when that occurs go to infotainment/ volume - and adjust the first volume media volume bar to your need (ussually 5 or 6). Adjust and other ones aswell - BT , sound media etc.
Then, when set, do not disengage your car (don't turn off ignition), let it running for 3 minutes.
Tricky part is that in some devices there is a option in infotainment main menu / common option for memory save / standby time - option that says in which time to shutdown and save after ignition off. If you could find these you must set it to 0 minutes . It worked for me. After all tht you can take ignition off, remove key wait for 3 minutes and start up again HU. It will work nicely now. You can set up options for DSP effects also in infotainment / sound - to memorize those aswell (if device have DSP option).
Below are pics to see where is what on my device, find on yours, probably is similar.
Hey there.
I recently bought a Navpro Octacore (TS18) Android head unit from Aliexpress and I was wondering if I can set a default startup volume.
IE: If turn off the car while in volume 15 and start the car again, the volume starts at 8 (predefined).
There's no option in the sound settings section and I couldn't find any thing related entering in dev or engineering modes (123456 / 8888 / 7890+hour).
The odd thing is that I own two old Android Head Units that have this option.
Does anyone know where can I set this value?
Thanks.

Hi.
I have similar TS18 unit but Topway, my unit remebers last know state of unit prior to shutdown (with sound volume remembered last used).
Problem is with this devices that they don't have any extra settings (not that I know of yet) to adjust sound volumes (also same thing is with navi app when mixing with radio or USB music - volume is too low when mixing with radio).
If this can help.... I solved my sound issues in sound menu of car settings - deactivated "inteligent" sound mixing and set "third party" software for sound control. Next, in some menu I don't remember where in car settings there is a option for keeping unit up for 10 min or more, deactivated that also (when deactivated unit instantly shuts down and saves units last state in memory/cache). Those helped me with a few problems with this unit.
Also, I updated system to the latest (connected wifi or 4G internet needed for update sytem and MCU online) - maybe it will help your system - maybe it's only a system glitch.
Hope this written will help you.
Try, play with unit.
And keep us informed if worked.
