Bizarre Battery behavior on lineage os 14.1 - Zuk Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I've been running Lineage OS for about two weeks on Zuk Z1 and I'm experiencing strange battery behavior. I get around almost normal hours of screen-on-time but in that time battery acts strange - suddenly dropping to 0% and sometimes working on 1% for hours.
Whenever battery drops to 0% phone gets switched off and when restarted it shows a different figure. My battery usage graph is equally strange. I have used battery calibration app but it was useless.
Can someone please help? Does anyone else have the same problem.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Official LineageOS thread for your device.

Your behavior isn't uncommon since few users experienced that. It's not a LineageOS problem. More likely your battery isn't good anymore. If you have warranty go claim it. See this there for similar battery discussions https://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/help/battery-stuck-50-s-reboots-minutes-t3307717

The thing is the phone worked absolutely fine before flashing ROM and moreover the battery life is good but it powers off automatically showing 0% then when restarted it shows the original percentage again.

I just started seeing this wakelock also. I haven't changed anything lately and it just appeared. I hope someone has an answer.

I just started getting it since updating to 6.0.1 PN. I switched to AK Synapse and it drastically reduced it, but it is still there. Only info I can find is much older phones. I am using an LED manager...wonder if that could be it. May freeze it this week and see.

I believe that wakelock is from charging. I don't know why but the device doesn't seem to register as deep sleep with better battery stats when fully charged and then idle but still plugged in. Likely an issue with the program and not the phone.
However if you want to test this simply charge your phone over night. Once it hits 100% it will stop charging at some point and go into sleep mode. The device is still plugged in but won't charge anymore. Device will use power, mine is usually around 95 or 93% when I fire it up and use a little juice in the morning. During this time the device uses battery quickly until it drops to 89% or so then normal discharge rate. This is normal of most android devices I've had and most everyone here is aware of this:
http://phandroid.com/2010/12/25/you...is-lying-to-you-and-its-not-such-a-bad-thing/
Getting back to the wakelock issue, f you check better battery stats this wakelock shows up under the above condition. You'll notice the time on this wakelock is usually the sum of the device on but screen off time and your screen on usage or pretty close to it.
Now charge your device to full while waiting for it (as in not going to leave it for 4+ hours on the charger after it is full). Once it stops charging at 100% pull the device. Use as normally.
Now the device is fully charged. Really this time and not just the UI telling you it's full. When you use it throughout your day and then check better battery stats you'll notice the wakelock is no longer there or nearly so depending on how fast you got the device off the charger after it was full.
End result is this seems like a reporting issue with better battery stats or the device not fully going into deep sleep while being plugged in. I would tend to lean on a reporting issue as discharge time seems about normal at 1% or so per hour while idle and that tends to hold true to my regular doze discharge.
TLDR:
This seems more like a reporting issue than actual wakelock. Any significant battery drain when fully charged can be explained by the link above and testing as I have explained in the post.

The only thing is this wakelock doesn't start until after I unplug it and leave for work. It grows during the day..so is it faulty reporting? Something is using my phone when idle for about 2 hours a day with screen and sync off at 384 Mhz and that wakelock usually shows at about an hour and 10 minutes or so. I have also done as you said and after it dropped to 97% charged it back up and pulled it off immediately..same wakelock and similar time. Also this wakelock was not there with 6.0.0. So Google changed something with 6.0.1 that brought this to life for me. Also interestingly, this wakelock was at about 4-6 hours with stock kernel. I changed to AK kernel and that is what made it drop to about an hour and doubled my standby time.
OK, I froze Light Manager with TB and this wakelock went away. This was the only new thing I added to 6.0.1 to get the battery fully charged light to not change until 100%. Stock changes it at 90% for some stupid reason. So if anyone is using an LED manager, try removing it for a day and see if that makes this wakelock go away.
so here is the source. Are you guys all using the stock charger that came with the device? Only reason I ask is because I didn't start seeing this until I started using a samsung charger with a micro to c adapter.... I think
Reported at 93% it's my highest wakelock. Stock charger and no LED manager installed. Other causes or fixes?
I too have this at the top of my wakelocks. Did anyone else find a solution? I don't have any led managers

HTC 10 (Stock Australian Variant - 7.0)
I contacted Lenovo support on email. As usual they told me to do FACTORY RESET. I did factory reset but eventually after couple of days issue started again.
there is some issue with SMB1351 chip on motherboard of Lenovo P2. but they are not able to figure it out. In battery stat, there is no issue with any of the apps which i installed on my phone.
any help on this is greatly appreciated.....

Note 4 battery problem after flashing some custom roms

Hi everyone, i have problem with my note 4, battery drops from 11 % to 3% very fast and charges after 85% very slow.. this problems started 2 days ago when i flashed dn5 custom rom i thought it was rom problem and flashed sixperience rom but still i have same issue also i tried battery calibration but again.... what can i do???? and my screen on time is only 3 hour. please help me, thanks.
Have you checked what's eating away at your battery? Settings => Battery (Here you should be able to see if anything is causing a drain).
If the settings screen doesn't seem to show anything, you could try BetterBatteryStats (This app will be able to tell you everything that's going on regarding running processes, wakelocks,... You should give it a day or so from a fully charged battery.)
And if even BBS doesn't show anything, I'd flash the stock firmware again (And check if it isn't the battery).

Well, in all fairness, mine is running CM 12.1, and SOT is a bit under 4hrs. Which isn't fantastic either. Quickcharge does slow down a bit after a certain percentage. You could try a new battery, but might be a waste of money.
I'm afraid I can't help you any further, maybe someone else can.

did u change ur battey? im going to buy anker battery as i know they have good ones
I am facing exactly the same problem .. I don't think buying a new battery will solve this problem.
My mobile is charging by AC very very slow and sometimes it stuck at certain percentage for hours and I tried many things but I am still facing this problem... While recharging if I removed the battery and put it again, the phone shows me that it is 100% while it was not 100% at all.
I wish someone can help us about this problem or if any of u guys tried a new battery and the problem has been solved, so please feed us back in here
Any updates!?

well after 3 4 days (i mean after flashing sixperience rom) everything is ok. discharge to 0% then wait and full charge + calibrate battery may fix issue. but still dont like screen on time. only up to 3.5 4 hours
That sounds weard...
I mean the good thing is we could change the battery.
I have a feeling this is not battery issue. it's exynos + apps running on the background. Try to root + disable unnecessary apps (maybe Android 4.4 Would give you higher SOT). I had Note 3 previously and SOT was at the level of around 6 hrs (snap processor) - now on exynos it's around 4 hrs on stock firmware (5.1.1).

Battery Not Fully Charging

I am having battery issues with my Nexus 6p. I thought it was the battery issues with shutting off, like many others have mentioned. I did a factory reset to try and address this, but I noticed in the battery setting, it says the phone has not fully charged in over 27 days. The battery display shows 100%, so I am at a loss on what is happening and how to fix it. I am running the current Nitrogen rom, but this was apparently an issue before switching to Nitrogen 2 weeks ago. Any suggestions?

I've never had to do this but it sounds like your battery needs to be calibrated which is misleading because Android is actually what you are calibrating. The above thread should be helpful.

battery problems

hi everybody
i have some problems with the battery, and hope someone knows a solution for it.
when i charge my ZUK competly and plug off, than within 5 minutes my battery drops down to 1%. the weird thing is, that i can use my phone normaly the whole day. its only shows 1% but i have still around 4-5 hours SOT.
i tried to delete my battery history & co. nothing helped. i changed also between different roms, also with the orginal rom. nothing helped.
any idea, how i can bring it to normal? cause like i wrote before, everything seems to be okay with the battery. it shows only 1%

Try Zui version 2.5 for zuk z1
Zui 2.5.358 is best in battery backup. You must try once this custom rom for Lenovo Zuk Z1, may it will fixed your problem.

moto g4 random shutting down

I have found a lot of complains about moto g4 (plus) random shut down and with solution at lenovo forum.
I am wondering any one have any solution here.
My G4 got the same issue recently. I am using stock rom.
Me also experienced same. The problem might be for overheating. I switched to linage os to get rid of but it still restarts very often..
thanks for reply. I will not waste my time to change ROM then.
I will try to change a new battery see if it works. I will report result next week.

My wife's phone has just started doing this too. It seems battery related as when it shuts down it does it instantly, but seems stable when it is charged fully. I think when the battery is reporting about 20-30% full charge through the UI, somewhere in the background it is getting the message that the battery is empty. Might have to try a new battery to sort it.

I was initially happy with this phone and bought this same one for my wife and my father-in-law. Then mine started shutting down randomly, and after a while the two other phones, too.
The behaviour is not completely identical; mine almost every time shuts down when in a video call. The others seem to shut down when receiving phone calls, perhaps combined with low battery charge.
Have anyone had any luck with a battery change?
