I'm about to reset my wifi only mediapad m3 tablet. I've put my own stuff in 2 folders on the root of the Internal Storage. Will these folders go away if I were to reset my tablet?
The reason for reset is that I wanna get rid of an update that is showing up in System Updater and I'm stuck with it (& I'm quite sure it will end up being deleted without installation). I just want to clean install Firmware Finder and try again with downloading the latest B352 but I need to get rid of what's stuck in that updater first!
Thanks in advance

Does anybody have a link to a factory image? Something went wrong when updating my device via OTA and now it does not want to boot anymore.
Do you have yt3-x90f. You can have my TWRP backup- taken directly after latest ota. Just copy to ext SD card and run restore from temp TWRP . https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0BzfzROhqO_aeN21yUXdaSVN6UWs/edit
Do you still have that file? mine wont get passed the boot screen and wont allow me to factory reset :/
Please help

Do you have your TWRP backup???? I really need this!

Everyone, I have searched and searched for the answer and I have not been able to find it. I have a VZW Galaxy S5 with an unlocked bootloader. I installed CM13 on it. I tried wiping data, cache and dalvik and there are so many files and folders that still remain. Is there a way to wipe it clean and get rid of all those trash folders and files? Can I wipe internal storage, then while still in TWRP re-install CM13? Will everything be ok? How can I get rid of all those trash folders and files? Are they somehow needed still? Thank you so much for your help. I swear I have looked everywhere and I just can't find a definitive answer and I am afraid to wipe internal storage because I don't want to have to ODIN back to a stock rom and reroot etc.... If anyone knows how to get rid of all those trash files, help!

Don't worry you can wipe internal storage and reinstall CM13 no problem! But making a backup and then restoring it would be easier!
I would recommend you to do this, and before you do it make sure you are on twrp 3.0.2-2!
Firstly make a backup and plug your phone in to the computer, copy all your files from your internal memory to the computer just to be safe.
Remove sd card and then boot into twrp. After that go to wipe and click format data. This will erase everything on your phone! After that turn off your phone, insert sd card, go into twrp and restore your backup.
If you don't have a sd-card your backups are probably stored in your internal storage. That means you have to transfer them from your computer to your phone after the wipe is complete to be able to restore your backup.
Good luck and I hope this helped you!
OK, I played with Titanium Backup and removed some Samsung apps like S health... Now I am stuck at boot loop and phone wont start. I am on stock rom 6.01 rooted. tried everything I could read:
- installed TWRP - did not quite work, gave me an error "is not seadroid"
- installed CWM - I can boot into it, but not much I can do to fix the boot, I tried wiping the partition cache and dalvik, but not help
- installed root again with stock recovery, nothing..
If I install the latest version of stock firmware, will I loose my app data? All I care about is to preserve my notes from ColorNote I read somewher that if a rom does not have userdata img, it wont wipe. Does the stock firmware have that? I am just looking for a way to get back in, backup stuff, and then reflash properly.
I tried going the adb route, but nothing there either. In cmd it says now unlock your phone for the pull command to compete, which obviously I cannot do.
Any other options to save my ColorNotes and Pictures?
OK, I was able to execute:
adb pull / C:\Myfile
This copied system files pretty much. How do I copy the app data or personal data - that's what I actually need
Got lucky...
I had to flash the latest stock firmware, but because I was running it anyway, just not the latest security patch, I the system ended up upgrading and all my files were preserved. It is as if I simply got the monthly patch.
I restored my friend' s Huawei P9 Lite (L31), it was bricked because he didn't flashed good the TWRP image, when i reboot the smartphone it displays "Data partition was damaged seriously! and you are recommended to format it to recover your phone".
Smartphone works, but even after a factory reset it still displays that message when it boots up, back up app is missing.
What can I do?
I need an answer to this omg! I have the same problem! And even though I format the data partition, it doesn't install all system apps, and Bluetooth doesn't work at all. In the system update it tells me to install update V**-*********-FULL which is 2GB in size, and even though I hit it just tells me that the data partition is damaged and needs a reset. After the reset, the same thing happens again. No system apps and update is back in the settings asking me to update.
Oh, when i hit the format data partition it just takes me to the eRecovery page, and then hit Download and Recover, but the download just fails all the time.

If your phone is bootloader unlocked, you could try and install TWRP for your emui version, format your /system with that (WITH A BACKUP TO THE SD CARD) and then recover your backup still within TWRP.

You have to vipe and reset your data partition format using TWRP and then use dload method to install official firmware.
Hi Guys,
It's all in the title really, I have tried rolling back from the latest MIUI stable rom 20.1.9_v11-10 to my previously run V11.0.2.0 , this got my phone (mi9t) stuck in a bootloop. After going into recovery mode, I have realized the internal storage folders are all messed up, with the folders names showing in an odd combination of number and letters (Something like: 9KJJGDKJ).
The phone still mounts via USB to the laptop, by I'm unable to transfer any files to the internal storage. And as such, I'm currently unable to flash it with a ROM.
I'd appreciate any advice on this, hopefully one that would also help me salvage the files and data I have on my internal storage.

For backup have you tried running adb command "adb pull /sdcard _(here specify any location in your pc such as C:\x\) from CMD when in TWRP? And for flashing ROM you can use "adb push (ROM zip location and destination such as C:\x\anyrom.zip /sdcard/)" and flash ROM .zip from your sdcard root in TWRP AFTER factory reset and wipe system from TWRP. Remember factory reset will erase your internal storage. Hope it helps. Good luck.

Well, it looks like you phone is encrypted and the only way is to format data, and did you format data before doing the downgrade?
Do you have TWRP?
You need to format data, internal memory encrypted.
Boot to TWRP
Format DATA
Reboot to TWRP
Transfer xiaomi.eu rom and flash
Reboot

I would try another recovery, sounds like something is corrupt with the twrp version. Have you tried Orangefox?
I had the same problem. Only thing that works is formatting data. A different twrp wont work. I tried 3 different versions all the same.
Thanks guys, already formatted my sd card yesterday and then I was able to re-flash the Android Q update.
My data is lost tho. Thank you all for your input here.
