Hi,
My kaiser's having problems with the internal speaker on the back,
the sound quality is very poor, the speaker have to be broken.
If i suck the speaker a little with my mouth, the sound becomes perfect.
Does anyone know any place where i could buy a new speaker or anything?
Could this one fit: http://cnn.cn/shop/atom-speaker-p-691.html ?
Fixed.
Tore the speaker part apart (just one screw near the speaker) and there was lots of metal dust inside the speaker.
Grabbed the metal from the speaker with a STRONG magnet and works perfectly!
just out of curosity ... how did the metal dust get there?
And how did you discover you you could get it to work by sucking it with you mouth?
No clue how it got there... maybe the magnet in the speaker sucked it inside.
I was playing around with it a bit, as you know, when you use your mouth to create a better sound when you cover the speaker with your mouth. Then accidentally sucked it a bit and discovered this.
Did some further investigation and saw the metal dust there and fixed it.
Im having the same problem, speaker sounds ike crap, but does work like normal if you suck in on it (weird, i know). Anyone know where to get a replacement one?
Hi,
Sorry for late reply (i'm using raphael nowadays).
Just take the speaker out, use a strong magnet or weak to medium adhesive tape and carefully take the metal dust away from the speaker cone pulling it towards the magnet of the speaker (that's why it works when you suck it)
I just exchanged my black MT4G due to dust under the screen and a strange gap on the backside (under the headphone jack) between the metal and the soft-touch material.
I had the salesperson pull out 2 different black MT4Gs and they all had that gap. We compared it with the white floor demo and there was no gap. What gives?? Is it just the black or the colored devices?
Anyway, I left with a new one with gap since apparently it's just a design flaw. I guess I should've asked around here before I went in to exchange it.
Hopefully the Epik case is out soon. If not I guess I'll need another case quickly. I don't want to find out the hard way that the gap leaves the phone vulnerable.
I hate that my beloved brand new phone isn't built as well as I first thought. Ah well, nothing a case won't fix I suppose. I still love it.
no gap on my black device, pried my case off to check, clear of any oddities
yup, same here. Black one with no gap.
no gap (blk) but you should take a pic cus it'd be nice to see exactly what your talking about (the way you said it makes it sound like you can fall into it lol)
No gap here. Black model.

Whaddya know, my Red has a minute gap just under the headphone jack
If you hadn't said anything I wouldn't have noticed. Less than 1 mm

Glad I'm not the only one (sucks for both of us though).
I'll try to get a pic of it later today. It's definitely not big enough to "fall into" but it's there and big enough for me worry about dust, lint, or moisture getting in there. When I hold it to any light source I can clearly see where the metal forms around the headphone jack.
No gap by the headphone jack on my current white MT4G
but my first 2, white and black, both had imperfections on the metallic ring. They both had areas where they were not straight which created a gap if you looked at it the right (or wrong ) way.
My black MT has a tiny gap where you described. My wife's MT has the exact same imperfection. It's really narrow, though. Less than .5mm. My thought is this: It will cause no foreign particle issue any more than the speaker grill perforations or the headphone jack itself. This thing ain't water-tight (that's what she said) but I don't foresee any problem with it.
I bought a 32gb metallic GTab 10.1 on Friday. I noticed some "clicking" noises when I press on the bezel by the speaker on the right side (when holding the tablet in the default way, camera on top).
I am not pressing excessively, just any sort of pressure causes a click. It occurs when I press the screen side but not on the plastic back side. I am worried about screen looseness and possible lift in the future.
I am considering exchanging it at Best Buy, but right now its pretty minor. Is anyone else noticing this or having a similar hardware issue?
I have the same issue on my 32gb white model. It's not a big deal if it doesn't get worse, but I feel like it might be safer to just exchange it...
I'd exchange it personally. I had a Droid with screen-clicking issues once. I just ignored it for a while, but somehow it went from that to a complete touchscreen failure. Not necessarily sure it'll happen here, but I wouldn't take the chance.
Hmmm...Screen Issues?

Interesting, as several getting the lcd rainbow or moisture look under screen, and a few with noticable dust specks, and your screen click. Wonder if all symtoms of screen assembly quality (albeit on a small # of devices)?
Not that I'm trying to break it - but if I hold the tablet in both hands, and exert *gentle* torsional force, I can feel the chassis flex and hear it creak. I thought the bezel surrounding the device was metal, but it's actually plastic. Major point loss in the design department.
I wish the xoom had an IPS or PLS panel - I'd totally sacrifice some thinness for something that felt more solid in-hand.
To me the GTab bezel feels a lot like the Nook Color - which creaked too over time. Seems to be very similar, smooth (and likely high quality) plastic. Except at the $500 price-point, it's in a whole different ballgame.
Mine is as sturdy as a rock still!

This right here. I feel like I have finally gotten lucky being an early adopter. I have had 0 issues reported on these forums. If I were you, I'd exchange that thing. I had a lot of creaking on my transformer and it was very annoying. I'd try to ignore it and find myself purposely making it creak cause it bugged me so much.
Not really. Aside from the CPU getting a *tad bit* warm.
Actually, when scrolling through the screens, if I have any Google widget(Books, Market, YouTube), horizontal blue pixels starting appearing. But I am sure this is a software issue, since it does not do that for the app icons.
My 32GB dark metallic back one is ... SOLID ... no clicks ... flawless.
My hardware seems solid but my microphone volume could use some boosting. I can't get anyone on here to confirm that though.
My new tab arrived today and everything was perfect until I heard a loud click when I went to pick it up again. If I so much as rest my finger on the back side next to the left speaker grill, it makes a loud pop sound. Going to exchange.. sigh.
i dont know how much of a mod this is or if it is really worth it but i removed the bezel around the speaker hole on the back cover. i think it made the music a tad louder (placebo is possible however the hole for sound to come out is now bigger). i didn't see this posted anywhere else which surprised me as this is kinda a duh mod so i figured i'd post it up and get opinions.
has anyone else done this and if so did you notice any sound improvements (quality or loudness) and did you notice any excess dirt buildup behind the cover?
Remember something like this from back in the day. Can't remember if it was for my HD2, TP2, or my OG EVO. But yes it made a slight difference IMO .
I remember I drilled a few small holes in the rear cover of my blackberry pearl to make a circle and kept going inwards. This made the music noticeably louder.
It seems to me like if you remove the speaker cover that you'll just allow more crap to get into your speaker. Sure there might be a lot of junk behind the cover but just think how much more could get in there. Your also not supposed to discuss different ways to destroy parts of your phone on xda lol.
To the people who has a Ringke Slim, I would like to know if the left top edge of the corner should be like that or the product has some problem before I call and shipped it back! Cause I'm not satisfy with it
Whenever I put the phone on the front (Screen face to Floor), it wobbles and makes noise when putting on a glass table...
But if it was build like that, than I will deal with it!
Please comment!
Sorry for the quality of the pictures~
Pretty sure that was (part of?) the solution to the loose left edge on the older models. Looks like they made it hold the top left corner harder, holding it taut. Anyway, mine is like that too. At first you can't unsee it, but it's stopped bothering me (and mine isn't wobbly when it's face-down).
it is supposed to have extra material at the top left corner. Mine has it.
