In landscape mode, keyboard text field covers screen! - Huawei Mediapad M3 Questions & Answers

Is there a workaround or mod so the dang keyboard text field doesn't cover the whole screen in landscape? I'd like to be able see the message I'm responding to while typing.

OK I'll help you. Just download Xposed & download the module "disable fullscreen keyboard. Good luck man!

Does Xposed work on an unrooted tablet?
I changed standard keyboard app, I love hacker's keyboard. But you can change keyboard height in keyboard's config.

It has nothing to do with keyboard height. The keyboard doesn't cover the screen. The box that text goes into does. Xposed only works on rooted devices.

What soft keyboard do you use?

Obviously we already have this great dock (Well most of us), but what I have yet to find is a great soft keyboard to use when I want my tablet to be, well, a tablet.
I have tried the various Swype keyboards (Swype, TouchPal, SlideIT), also some regular keyboards (Stock android, smart, hacker), but sadly I have yet to find a keyboard that works well.
I don't really like the idea of a two hand keyboard, since usually when I am typing without my dock, I am holding the tablet in one hand and typing with the other. On the other hand the Swype keyboards work, but not very well. On my Galaxy Nexus I have gotten it to work really well, but, the Transformer in landscape is just too much real estate to use Swype effectively.
So post something about your favorite keyboard, what you use, and why you use it. I am really interested to hear what you guys (And gals) have come up with.
swiftkey works well for me
Funny you mention that as that is what I am trying right now. So far so good!

Thumb keyboard for me too.
For now sticking with thumb keyboard. Allows for great speed and accuracy while still allowing me to use my tablet as a tablet.

I use stock on day to day and MultiLing Keyboard when using a different language. It is the easiest one I used for switching frequently between languages.
Try TSwipe pro in the play store, its free to download and supports many different languages and supports swipe and most of the features of hackers keyboard.
Hope you enjoy it

That's what I use on my phone and only tried it shortly on my tablet. May have to try it again...

Forgot to mention that the keyboard allows you to switch languages through the keyboard with a touch of a button or swipe of a finger. It is the keyboard that I currently use and I too have tried all of those others and this is simply the best.
Try it I am sure it will solve your problems too.

Using swift key 3 beta. It's the best I've seen yet. It really eliminates the space bar.
i love TouchPal.. . went to it from Swype. Swype was boring and white. TouchPal at least had a few skins abs i Lee dark themes. .. easier on battery

Thumb keyboard works great for me with switching languages. The spacebar key has the current language and if you swipe the spacebar you can switch the language. Plus with its split design it is the balls in landscape mode.

Touch pal keyboard?

Just wondering if it's possible to have the numbers on top of the letters instead of have to hit the numeric button on the touch pal x keyboard? Thanks
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
Touchpal is by far the best keyboard I have ever used. The number keys are at the bottom of the first row of QWERTY. Just swipe down if you need to quickly input couple of numbers or tap the number key. Once you adapt to the logic typing becomes natural.
I'm taking about adding the numbers on top of qwerty because it's easier when dealing with a lot of numbers

That's a thought but I like touch pal hence I'm looking for a way to modify touch pal, lol

I used TouchPal on Windows Mobile, but Swiftkey is a zillion times better.

Swiftkey. It went to crap a while back but now the new version is tops. Recommended
Swype paid version
Been rocking the Swype paid version for almost two years. Never look for another
I think Flesky is better than SwiftKey

google keyboard .. plain and simple with swipe
Kii Keyboard here
works flawless and fast
Swype. But just because it has Lithuanian symbols on the top row and no need to hold A for a few seconds to get Ą
Touchpal or Swiftkey. They are both have swipe.
I can type faster with Touchpal because of its intuitive suggestive texting.
But i like how Swiftkey has a separate number row on top of the alphabets.
I'm using the Samsung one. Let's me enter number n letters n ****.

Hide navbar Nova Launcher

Hi there,
At first the navbar buttons were hidden in the home screen but now, without changing anything they stay there. Someone in the same situation?
Thanks!
You using Nova Launcher ?
Trimis de pe al meu SM-G950F folosind Tapatalk
It happens because of the lastest Nova Launcher update (5.3)
It's not a bug but a choice from the developers
And you can change the behavior via ADB command.
What is the nav bar you're referring to?

The navigation bar is the one with home, return, app switch.
OP: This has been discussed in another thread, maybe it can answer your questions. https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/nova-launcher-update-5-3-careful-read-t3629965

Good Lock 2019 (One Handed Operation) / System - Display - Navigation bar

Good Lock 2019 is superb from Samsung no doubt about it but in case of System - Display - Navigation bar - Navigation buttons or Full screen gestures AND One Handed Operation which is available in Good Lock...what's the use of having both why cant we disable system navigation buttons or gestures if we ONLY have to use One Handed Operation which in my opinion is super awesome!!
some game options are only on the navbar
