My phone freezes and restarts on certain app .. help. - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi, I have samsung s7 edge with superman rom android 7.0 installed
Couple days ago I installed an app called PDF and e book reader .However, the app worked well for about 10 minuits now anything I do related to this app crashes my phone and causes restart; for example: If I open the app the phone restarts. If i try to uninstall it the phone restarts. If i try to update my apps on google play the phone restarts.
Please help me it has become so annoying and I don't want to re install the rom just uninstall the app amd get rid of it.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, thank you for your replay
I tried just now freezing the app through titanium backup. It worked and it's frozen now. However, I can't uninstall it, when I tried uninstalling it, the phone restarted again. Now, I can update my apps again through play store without the phone to crash. It seemed to solve the problem temporarily but this helped alot, thanks.

Get the app full package name (x.x.x), reboot in recovery mode and delete the app and it data directories (/data/app/x.x.x-1 and /data/data/x.x.x)

I've tried that now. I seem to get the following error through CWM recovery:
rm -rf "data/app/books.ebook.pdf.reader-1" process ended with error: 1

Same applies to data/data/<app name>

[Q] CM7 - Android Market - Not installing Apps!

Been trying to solve it for hours!
I NEED my Android stylin' for school!
I press install, then it downloads, but doesn't say the app is installed / the app isn't installed. Help meh.
How do I fix this, so I can install apps?
--
Edit:
I tried CM7 again but this time, a little combination of two instructions.
Before, I couldn't fix the market problem, like anything I tried (clear cache, data in the manage applications settings) didn't work. And the uninstall updates wasn't visible. So today I tried again but with some different instructions, and this time it worked! So glad I can use CM7 on my phone, so awesome.
Are you using a stock ROM or a custom ROM?

I've been having this problem lately (on both Bandroid's ROM and rdannar's "diet" stock ROM) with the new marketplace.
Even on updates some apps will go through the whole process, and even act like they're downloading, then will still show up as needing an update.
This didn't help you, but you're not alone?
Rebooting (sometimes) helps.
Do you have the new market yet? I notices when my phone switched to the new one it took a few hours for it to get back to normal. Also, it mat not show its correct status in the market app and if you leave and go back it may say it is finnished.

Go to manage apps in your settings and clear cache in market

This is crazy, I don't know why it's doing this, I can't even do gapps because the market won't install the apps.
Market
version 2.3.6
and their is no unistall updates button either. Mannn this is so frustrating.
Wait... are you installing Gapps after installing a ROM? Which ROM? Are you using 3g or wifi?

I have this same problem. I can't successfully install any app via the android Market. I tried clearing Market cache and data with no improvement. If I choose install an app, it looks like it downloads in the status bar, but doesn't actually list it as "Successfully Installed" as it normally would.
If I look in the Market's My Downloads it lists the app but says "Free" next to it instead of "Installed" or "Update". If I then try to install it I get "Sorry! The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Force Close.
I also rolled back the updates on my Android Market with no improvement in functionality.
I think the issue started when I went to Android 2.2.
I'm not clear on how to solve this problem.
Same problem! !!!!!!! Any solution??
unmount SD Card
A temporary fix would be unmounting the sd card and then installing the app. It happens on some roms..hope it fixes...works in my case.

chrome crashes when i click settings

every single time whats going on....stock ROM rooted..
i uninstalled it as a system app and re installed it but it still does it.
dont remember this happening before.
I had this problem only when converting to system app using titanium backup, try deleting it completely or uninstal updates clear data and restart the app and open settings etc. Other than this idk

Shouldn't be the recovery. Try reflashing your rom
Try wiping cache/dalvik.

[q] unable to sideload

Ever since root and freezing apps I just realized I couldn't sideload. It says install but it's unclickable but it does let me click back. Any ideas?

its most likely user error.. i nvr heard this happen just from rooting a device.. are you trying by copying apk to fioe system and rebooting or by installing as a regular apk? what apk is it? what did you freeze?
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA Premium HD app
It's from xposed or a auto brightness app try installing any app that you recently installed,
Sent to you from my slimmed down S5
Update:
I defrosted every single app AND fully removed xposed. And still, install is unclickable. So weird! Any one ever seen this? Also to be clear it's with any apk. I noticed when installing better battery stats but adaway, xposed installer both are on my Sd card so I tried them and they won't install.

Tapatalk app not functioning properly

So it logs me in, but it loads infinitely and nothing ends up loading in entirely. I've tried uninstalling it, deleting the data/cache but no luck

I haven't had this issue yet but it does have problems from time to time. When I have problems I usually wipe data on app and reboot and sign in again and its fine. I always make sure I have an old backup too using titanium backup cuz sometimes the updates cause issues and I'll just roll back. My advice is use XDA app maybe and try tapa again in a week or so maybe it will work again. Idk. Looks like you've already tried what you can and its not working.. Hope you get it fixed.

HELP! Bootloop

So here's the issue....
I used package disabler pro (without root) to disable my apps. I accidentally disabled the two Touchwiz launchers. My phone will not boot up anymore (gets stuck on Verizon screen).
Am I screwed? Is there a way to backup my files using recovery? I've tried everything and adb keeps failing when I try to sideload a new launcher apk to my phone. Please help! I need to keep my files!
*Edit* please move this to correct location

Or factory reset.

This is why I always recommend a weekly Smartswitch backup to SD card.
