[GUIDE] Enable EIS on videos

Hello,
I found that by adding the following lines below in build.prop, the EIS becomes functional in recording videos using the apk mod of the Nexus 5 camera.
Add the following lines;
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
persist.camera.eis.enable=1
persist.camera.is_mode=4
Unfortunately it only works in this camera application and autofocus does not work.

It might work better on other roms and Nougat, I'm currently at smalleui 13.1 and the best camera app I've found so far was the Moto Z camera with the professional mode (sadly no EIS but it have autofocus working on video)
Edit: Works too on Footej Camera!
Edit²: I installed for the first time a nougat rom (RR) and EIS works in video on all app
Edit³: I'm just an Network engineer, i don't have any programming skills, don't ask for new features

Sorry, i forgot to tell you that you must change on build.prop "ro.product.device"
(moto g4)
ro.product.device=athene
(moto z)
ro.product.device=griffin
On smalleui 13.1 all settings of professional mode works, on nougat (RR) only a few

The line "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1" already enables it

On cuoco's v97 it's disabled by default. Thanks

Sure, see samples on attachments.
Only will work if you have enabled camera api2
Install Camera X from https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/themes-apps/mod-google-camera-t3279714?nocache=1 to use EIS on EUI.
PS: Video was recorded on 720p because file size limitation from xda

I downloaded it now and it worked, try downloading some codec package and use 7-zip to extract

Is there a way to use EIS and autofocus at the same time in video recording for Marshmallow roms?

But say, can you enable 1080p 60fps recording with build prop modified and also can you increase the shutter time to some 30 sec. So we can photograph the night starry sky?
Isk anythi g about build. Prop never touched it.. Just wonder about the possibilities

Yes, EIS only works if you enable camera api2 and EIS line on build prop.

Make sure to change to read-only build.prop or else bootloop.

As you all know, MIUI Camera has been ported to Mi5 (gemini) from MI A1 by @stars2 which seems to work on Redmi Note 4 (mido) too. So I decided to create a thread about it so that every mido users gets notified about it.

THANKS! This is the thing I really need. My video is super dark and LED too yellowish when using other Camera like google or lineage camera. The only thing that can fix it was to go back to MIUI for the MIUI camera.

If you are getting error while flashing just extract the apk from the zip and install it .

The camera needs a few libraries that's why it's a flashable with all needed stuff inside.

Thats why filters arent working.

Google Camera(HDR mod) pics completely destroy MIUI quality camera.

It works but camera quality is still way behind than Google Camera!!

I'm wearing weeks testing camera apks from celsoazevedo files and for MI Max this work for me.
I'm usim gcam 31-8 from @bilakos10, thread gcam 31-8
This is for me the most stable, video recording work fine 30-60 fps and in low light.
And i use gccam 1.7 GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.7.apk from @Arnova8G2 for portrait mode.
Edit: I'm using global beta rooted with magisk and magisk module enable hal3.

Can you tell setings for GCam v1.7??? i can't take potrait mode always FC! ... i testing in Mi Max Prime Rom MiuiPro and i using magisk. camera2api module active but still FC!

Right now not because one update has deleted root in my phone, one thing, i'm using miui beta.
edit: Ok, let me try again.
edit2: gcam5.1.0.018-Arnova8G2-V1.7.apk
settings: nexus 6 auto, pixel corr, enable portrait. working fine in rear camera. Frot camera not saving photos.

Enable oss hal on any nougat rom

So guys there were many people who wanted to enable oss hal on there old favourite nougat roms , so here i found a way to enable oss hal on Nougat roms, this may not work on H2os or Zui Although you can try. I tested this personally on viper,it works well
So here we go,
(1) Make sure You Know how to use root explorers.
(2) Now extract the oss.zip
(3)Now Paste the following files in Root/system/lib
° libmm-qcamera.so
°libmmcamera_interface.so
°libmmjpeg_interface.so
°libqomx_core.so
(4) Now paste the following file in Root/system/lib/hw
°camera.msm8996.so
(5) Now paste the following file in Root/system/bin
° mm-qcamera-app
(6) Reboot
(7) Boom! Now oss is enabled on your rom, Enjoy!

if you want to use portrait mod using Google camera mod app you have to enable the oss function in the rom. Which is already enabled in most of the oreo roms.

Make a flashable zip and easy out the process.
Will help people who only know how to flash..

I checked with Gcam Mod and it works. On AEX 4.6
Renamed the original files and pasted these files in the appropriate location with same permissions

We will get Miui 11 soon but most probably not Android Q since we got 2 major upgrades (Nougat to Pie).

after this update youtube pip mode is bugged. i can move pip screen but can not control playback buttons nor i can not return youtube with double push. i am using genuine youtube app, have a premium subscription.

What about auto brightness ? After phone wake up, it is'nt fading smoothly.
Ekran parklaklığı telefon uyanınca önceki haline göre daha parlak ya da karanlık bir ortam olduğunda flash patlar gibi hızlıca değişiyor mu ? PiP modu çin versiyonunda da sıkıntılı maalesef. Batarya kullanımı da iyi değil. Günlük kullandığım bir cihaz olsaydı daha ikinci gün oreo ya dönmüştüm.

Has anyone successfully root Mi Note 3 with MIUI 10.4.2?
I tried with SuperSu and Magisk, both not worked. I have unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP, then flash SuperSu/Magisk via TWRP.

I cannot paste content in password fields in 10.4.2 (device locked, clean install). It is very frustrating as I use a password manager to autogenerate/store my passwords.
Has anyone else faced the same issue?

Hey! It might be just me, but I tried to flash the zip via TWRP, even copied the lib file manually after a clean rom reinstall, yet I'm still stuck on legacy level... What could be the problem?

Manual Camera2API Activation:
Add lines to build.prop file:
# Camera2 API
persist.vendor.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
persist.vendor.camera.stats.test=5
persist.vendor.camera.eis.enabled=1
vendor.camera.hal1.packagelist=com.whatsapp,com.intsig.camscanner,com.instagram.android
# Allowed packages to use AUX camera
vendor.camera.aux.packagelist=com.android.camera,org.codeaurora.snapcam,com.google.android.GoogleCamera
Replace front camera lib in \system\vendor\lib with the patched one.
