Broke my screen, what to do now? - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Hi all, an Indian here living in Bangalore. Broke my screen yesterday and want to know how much do service centers charge for replacing the front glass..
I think the crack is only in the glass and am not sure if the LCD and glass are fused together or not..
Thanks in advance..

The story is a little weird..a friend of mine put my phone in her selfie stick...and bam..now there's a crack running through the entire screen..
Never ever gonna use a selfie stick again...

You can buy from AliExpress. They also provide all tools you will need to repair yourself. They are around ₹1300. Be advised the quality will not be the same.. I previously got one for my mi4i and the replacement screen only supported 2 point touch..

There have been several people on here report that LG will replace the screen for $105. That is cheaper than you can buy one if it is true.
im just wondering can you buy just the digitizer its self? also since the phone is so new i have not found any tutorials that show how to replace it.
I saw on eBay screen with digitizer. Around 120$. I didn't see any digitizers separate. Replacing only digitizer on such LCD panel is pretty risky.

Did u open the handset? ?
I feel my speakers volume has eroded. It is very low now as compared to when it was new. I'm thinking of going to the service center. How much time will the service center take to repair your handset?

it took them 10days and after that i had to mail gionee care after that they gave in 1 day
mind you service centers are just on contract so ppl there are not much skilled so check wthr you can trust device to them by going thr
and yes i opened it myself all you need is a suction cup
but i'll suggest you not to open it as locking is fragile and once you break it no warrenty

Could you make a video on how to open it? That will be nice..

those guys in service center are really bad they will use your phone for there purpose for over a month and they will tell you that your phone is not fixed yet. My friend have face that issue not in gionne an another company i don't know but these local service center are not good if you compare them with lg, samsung, sony.
besides every local service center are authorized with every low brand company like micromax, lava, xolo, gionee. etc.

Interesting Picture

Can't say where it's from but it's from AT&T directly. Obviously a prototype or test model and it says not for sale on the package. Obviously a Samsung phone, I was scared to play with it much but seems a glass back and front with metal on the sides. I apologize if this is being posted in the wrong section.

Cracked screen

Hello guys,
I've let my phone fall and now my screen it's cracked.. I have no problems for using it but it's really a pity.
It still haves 6 months of warranty, but I don't think this will be for free since is not a hardware problem.
I would like to know what you guys recommend me to do? Send it and pay (any ideas of how much it's to fix it?)
Or buy the new lcd? (any ideias of price? )
Thanks

Super Amoled= super expensive and with curved display = super super expensive.
Just got mine repaired... €295,- at a Samsung repair center. They made it IP68 also again (that's why I did let it repair).

Buy the screen on eBay, super cheap. Then watch YouTube videos how to replace it. It's super easy! Also on ebay the will sell you the screen and tools you need to that phone apart like the suction and screw driver....

I assume that you are having return policies with the website.
Or you can contact xiaomi service center
