There have been several people on here report that LG will replace the screen for $105. That is cheaper than you can buy one if it is true.
im just wondering can you buy just the digitizer its self? also since the phone is so new i have not found any tutorials that show how to replace it.
I saw on eBay screen with digitizer. Around 120$. I didn't see any digitizers separate. Replacing only digitizer on such LCD panel is pretty risky.

please help me ........sorry for my english
being a 1 post newly arrived user you are only very partially forgiven for not having searched the forums first.
Look on ebay for a replacemente screen+digitizer, and search in general section of xda leo forum for the guide to remove and replace the screen
no the touch but the screen
if the touch still works, you still need to buy a new screen anyway, so the suggestion in my previous post is standing.

Hello everyone, my phone got ran over last night. Its actually still working fine, touchscreen and all but there are cracks in the lower screen. You cant actually feel them but if you tilt the phone or whatever you can. Last night it was like bleeding pink colors but now the entire phone is covered in like a pink and blue haze. I can't see much of anything but the touch screen still works. I know the bottom screen needs to be replaced. Does anyone know how about much this would cost to be repaired? Should I go to a local repair shop? Also what needs to be fixed exactly so I don't get hustled?
Your LCDs are bleeding (causing the "haze"), your digitizer is fine if the touchscreen is working, you need a new screen.
Here is an example of what you need replaced:
http://www.repairsuniverse.com/google-nexus-one-lcd-screen-replacement-display-amoled.html
You can do it yourself, but I would only attempt it if you're really good with that kind of stuff. But if you do want to do it yourself, here are some cheaper screens from eBay. And this guy on youtube has a good set of videos on how to replace the screen (45 videos). But again, this is going to take time and skill.
It says in the videos that he's replacing his digitizer. Should I just follow the same steps? Do you think its that difficult to do it by one's self? I'm pretty tech-savvy but I don't have any experience in cell phone repair. But I am a college student and saving a large amount of money on labor costs would be awesome
Doesnt nexus have amoled screen not lcd. Who stupid is thinking that every device haves crappy lcd like iphone.

Uh, I dont know the specifics. You might need to replace the entire digitizer (maybe it's all one part, and you cant just replace the screen). For sending it into HTC, someone on android forums said that:
I cracked my LCD last month, sent it in to HTC, cost $115 total including overnight shipping which HTC covers, was only phoneless for 4 days.

So I mean, its up to you. Here is a google support thread and some other forum post, maybe you can get more info. Here are more instructions for self-repair.

Yes, it's an AMOLED screen, buy it is still referred to as an LCD screen.

I appreciate the help. I just contacted a local repair shop and they said it would be $124. So I'm figuring it's worth it to pay the thirty dollars for the labor rather than screwing it up. Thanks though for pointing me in the right way
Yea, thats good. Personally, I wouldn't try to mess with all that internal stuff, too complicated for me and too many places I could screw up lol. No problem.

Ahh, nothing like a sentence like this to be a truly cyclical statement. By making this statement here, you are a part of the forum and thus stating this upon yourself as well. Good day.
Oh, and on the person who made the thread, look over at ifixit.com, there's also an extensive teardown over there as well. I used their teardowns when I used to own an iPhone to repair mine and now I repair everyone else's as well.

does anyone know how much it would cost to bring it into HTC for an official repair of the screen? I have the same bleed problem as him, but my screen is completely black now and unusable. I contacted HTC and Im planning to send it in on Monday, but I just wanted a quote on how much it would cost from HTC

So I managed to destroy my R800X over the weekend , shattered the LCD and cracked the housing in a few places. Instead of buy all the new housing pieces Im looking into a R800A thats white.
I believe all the hardware was the same besides the mother/logic board and I should be able to swap out the mother board and be good to go. Im not 100% sure , the seller is willing to except a return but before I go through the hassle of finding out it does not work..
Does anyone know if this is just a bad idea? Or should it work like im hoping?
Thanks !
I would think that would break GSM functionality, but I'm not the techiest person ever.

Look up some tear-down pictures and compare them. If the main board is rearranged differently you need to make sure all the antennas and cables will connect properly.

You actually can't buy the motherboard anywhere (searched with no success plenty of times) You can buy just about everthing else from Gtek or EtradeSupply , but if you want a mother board eBay for a complete device is the only way.

Just out of curiosity, what type motherboard are you looking for? R800x or R800i?
Seriously just bummed myself out pretty hard with this one. #1 reason for getting an S4 was the potential of the 13 megapixel camera. The one I just broke!
S4 in my pocket, leaned against something just right I guess, and BOOM! Not really a boom more of a sad sad whimper when I first saw my cracked lens.
I've searched this already, and there is hardly even a mention of this happening on google.
Hoping that someone has good news for me, or hopefully some helpful suggestions!
Ghost Glass on the front, Machined aluminium bumper, and not a thing to protect that stupid little piece of glass (why glass?) over the camera.:crying:

Thanks for the info, ordering now, and hopefully it will be here when I get off the river next week.
If anybody on XDA is in Colorado and wants to go get wet/weird in a raft, kayak, SUP, mountian bike, or whatever... Hit me up, nerd friends are my friends. My family owns the 1st Outfitter in Colorado (since 1969) and we are really good at what we do. Not selling, just sayin.

I finally received my camera from China... Quite an interesting trip it must have been for this little thing. About to replace the broken one, wish me luck.
the case is sweet.. I really like that it protects the outside of the phone as that is usually the part to hit the ground first on a drop. I also really like the Ghost glass that I've put on the screen. It feels just like the naked screen and doesn't inhibit the feel of the phone at all. The only thing that seems to not be protected by this setup is the camera... However at $28 a pop, I could think of worse things to happen. I'll be sure to do a quick write up when I'm finished in a few minutes.
Damn this phone is easy to fix. Took me five minutes total to fix.

Hello guys,
I've let my phone fall and now my screen it's cracked.. I have no problems for using it but it's really a pity.
It still haves 6 months of warranty, but I don't think this will be for free since is not a hardware problem.
I would like to know what you guys recommend me to do? Send it and pay (any ideas of how much it's to fix it?)
Or buy the new lcd? (any ideias of price? )
Thanks

Super Amoled= super expensive and with curved display = super super expensive.
Just got mine repaired... €295,- at a Samsung repair center. They made it IP68 also again (that's why I did let it repair).

Buy the screen on eBay, super cheap. Then watch YouTube videos how to replace it. It's super easy! Also on ebay the will sell you the screen and tools you need to that phone apart like the suction and screw driver....
