Hello!
I recently puchased myself an HD2/Leo, and I have to admit I am very pleased with it, and aren't going to tweak it that much (unlike my Diamond, which was tweaked out the wazzoo). The only little niggle I have is that it seems to be set up for the NA market more than the UK. The Amazon store link under the music tab goes to .com, as does the google search in the browser tab. I've got a registry editor for it, and had a quick dig through, but can't seem to find where these are stored. I'd like to change them, because the .com amazon store is useless to me (and the google one is just me being facetious).
Also, how does buying music off amazon work on the HD2? I'm assuming the music downloader doesn't run on phones so am I just ordering CDs to ship?
Anyone got any info?
Thats a no then?
Same problem here too.
Links to Amazon.com, instead of Amazon.co.uk
And also, would like to know the same as ftr2k8 regarding downloading directly to the phone. I have trouble buying from the Amazon Mp3 store on my PC, let alone on my phone
Cheers
So I happened to find these apps, I'm using G6 from Korea (G600L). I posted this thread in G6 Q&A already and seems like not so many people know
I'm not sure if these apps are safe to unsintall (Adb shell pm uninstall)
It would be great if anyone could tell me

Any updates? Even if you share your progress so far would be highly appreciated!
As a general rule, unless you're 100% certain, you shouldn't uninstall system apps you're even remotely unsure about. Your safest bet would be to use an app like Root Uninstaller Pro to "freeze" them and see if any side effects come about on your phone. If so, you can unfreeze them and keep testing what you can and can't disable. LG MLT is something you should definitely get rid of, and apart from the PC/Sync packages you listed there (Which you could remove if you don't intend to use LG PC Suite with your phone) I wouldn't go fully removing any others.

Below are the apps I have disabled on my Verizon LG V20 (VS995). Remember to be careful, if you disable any of these apps or features that you use they will no longer function.
Non-System apps: Amazon Kindle, Android Pay, Audble, Caller Name ID, Chrome, Cloud, Cloud Print, Gmail, Google Play Movies & TV, Google Play Music, Hangouts, IMDb, LG Health, Messages+, NFL Mobile, Quick Remote, Slacker Radio, Support & Protection, ThinkFree Viewer, VZ Navigator.
System apps: AppFlash, Bold & Black, Bookmark Provider, DT Ignite (May be called "Mobile Servives Manager"), Handwriting, Hangouts, High Contrast, OK Google enrollment, Print Services Recommendation Service, Print Spooler, SnapPage, Tags, Talkback, Tasks Storage, Trusted Face.
i am too doing a ABD to remove bloatware and i was wondering what is a list of bloatware you can remove from the LG V20 without causing harm to your phone and it has att crap too...
H’llo Guys,
For the little story, I always liked to customize my smartphones. I had an iPod Touch 5, which I had jailbreak several times until it becomes unusable (I managed to break it completely, including its OS). After that I bought myself a BlackBerry Z10 (special thanks to Cobalt232 and xsacha for the tools they created). Since I was tired of always tinker the BlackBerry (it didn’t lead to anything), I sold it.
You’ll understand that I don’t want that the same thing (breaking it or reset or repair its OS) to happen to my new smartphone, a brand new UNLOCKED Motorola*G5 Plus that I bought on eBay.
Wait! Did I say UNLOCKED, it’s indeed what the announcement made me think : “Motorola MOTO G5 Plus - 64 GB - Lunar Grey (Unlocked) Smartphone,” but when I turned it on, I realized some irrational details.
Firstly, the presence of some Amazon apps and the one of Amazon ads on the lock screen. Then, the software variant and the software channel : "amz" for Amazon.
It’s reference number is XT1687, so it’s the 64 GB ROM / 4 GB (North American Variant), so why is it the Amazon variant?
And why I couldn’t unlock it BootLoader? I know that the Amazon variant can’t be (I didn’t buy it on Amazon, how would I know that), but not all the XT1687, right?
So would I anyway be able to customize my smartphone as I want? I mean changing its software variant and channel, using applications that require roots like Substratum or F.Lux, …
Maybe I haven’t searched enough on XDA forum, but it seems to me that the discussions are very scattered and the answers are even more.
Thanks.
P.S.: I’m new to this forum, so sorry if I didn’t respect some rules.
You got the Unlocked Amazon Prime version of the Moto G5 Plus. I believe you can't unlock the bootloader (Amazon didn't want you to remove the ads, but idk about now).
The unlocked meant it isn't locked to any carrier, not bootloader unlocked.
If the eBay posting didn't say anything about Amazon, you should contact the seller for item recieved not as described.
Also, I managed to make all ads disappear permanently (even after reboot or connected to the web) without the use of a Music App that have the ability to change the background picture on lock screen.
So Amazon's restrictions sucks.
And legally, I think that they wont have the right to fix that.
So there's my way in 7 easy steps :
1- Disable all rights of Amazon apps.
3- Disable all Amazon apps (look at system apps, not those you need).
4- Enable Developer Options by clicking 5 time on device name I think.
5- In Developer Options, go to the running services section and disable all services and cache from Amazon apps (not those you need).
6- Delete all Amazon ads cache with file explorer of Motorola.
7- Delete all files Amazon apps in settings app (not those you need).
8- Delete all cache Amazon in settings app (not those you need).
9- Reboot, and enjoy life forever :silly:

FYI... Amazon disabled their lockscreen ads in the latest update of the Amazon Ads app due to security concerns.
Your changes will temporarily stop the ads, they will return... This has been discussed over and over in the Amazon Ads thread.

You cannot unlock the bootloader of the Moto G5+ (Amazon Ads version). Although you bought it from Ebay, it still is the amazon version of the phone. That phone is the cheaper version of the original Moto G5+. The only difference between the amazon version and the original version is that the amazon version has ads on it and has a locked bootloader on it.
This means that your phone is locked down. Another way of saying this is that you cannot "Jailbreak" it like you did with your ipod Touch. The only way you can get around this is by buying the non-amazon version of the Moto G5+ and then you can Unlock/"Jailbreak" that one.
Ok
So I have a fire stick that I modded. It is debloated and I have a bunch of tweaks I put on there. I want to know if I can legally sell the firestick as it is seeing as how there is nothing illegal installed on there such as "kodi fully loaded" or anything else that would result in a type of piracy.
I would also like to know if I can legally offer my service to people locally to modify their fire Sticks as mine is set up for $. Which is the debloating home screen replacement, tweaks customizations, aptoide installation and possibly youtube with no ads (smart youtube tv)
Thanks for the input in advance. I'm in the USA. As far as I am aware it is not illegal however I want to double down and be 100% before I go doing this.
If a moderator sees this please move it to the appropriate section thanks.
Hello
Bought HD 2021, no ads version
In short:
1. Need to block the updates. How do I go about it? I have a router, so blocking the traffic to Amazon maybe?
2. I'd love to completely disconnect the tablet from Amazon. I wish to gain maximum intrussion on my privacy, so I'd love to get rid of Alexa etc. But if there's something which improves the chances of increasing compability with older apps installed from a pre-downloaded files, not from Google Play etc. I'd like that too. Basically "what would you do in the first place". Aside from the looks. I don't really care how my icons arrangement looks like or if I can get somewhere in 2 clicks instead of 3. Not sure if the launcher swap is for me then.
After spending some time googling, I found that there's no way to install LineageOS on this one. And people talk about bad 7.3.2.2 update. (I have 7.3.2.1)
So, please help a noob with some simple step-by-step advise on what should I do (no need to tell me the actual steps of each procedure, I can google, but keep in mind I'm a total noob to Android and PC-Android apps, so please don't use shortcuts which prelong my future googling by 1000x, thanks )
I just powered it on, checked the firmware version, and didn't connect the internet to it yet.
OK, so I needlessly worried after finding a 5 method list of removing the auto updates and comments about none working, and thought Toolbox is mainly for changing launchers.
To answer most of my questions:
- Toobox allows to disable the updates, has ALL the options nicely explained and you can just read through all the menu items to learn what to do and what's what. It allows to remove the spying Amazon crap (Alexa), allows to sideload apps without using any stores (not even google account required, I guess ), restores Google Play access and gives direct access to the filesysem for easy file transfer. Among other.
Awesome thing. I didn't finish using the Toolbox yet, but seems like I'll be able to use the tablet now.
I have a new question though. If my OS version is from 2021, and I don't want the new updates, what about security vulnerabilities? Am I now an easy target?
edit: Still have Alexa
Amazon Alexa is one service
and
Alexa - is the name of second service
Also, how do I disable the Google Assistant after replacing Alexa with it?
Lastly. I have only 1.3GB of 3GB RAM free? Or is this under developer settings in Android settings menu, not properly displayed?
Welcome here! I hope you'll take this discussion over to the Toolbox thread to benefit more readers:
