Maybe not a hack...but I do not see a way to have my G6 function just like my G5 did.
I use a google voice search icon to do a 1 button touch voice search/query to instantly use. I am not sure if this was possible on my G5 because I originally set it up when it was running Marshmallow.
My G5 screen shots of how I had it setup and used.

And when I show app info.....it shows as google app and I can not find this on my G6.
Basically, I would like a button toggle on my nav bar to get to this point in one touch....and not have hey google activated.
Can anyone tell me how to do this with the G6 Vs988. I also have always used nova launcher with this process in tact.
Thanks for any help.
i would like to see this too...
If you have Oreo installed, long press google app icon and then long press again the second option
It will create the desired shortcut

I find the virtual buttons a bit of a nuisance, I would much rather use gestures. I originally wanted to hide them only on my home screen, but it seems it's all or nothing with qemu.hw.mainkeys in build.prop.
I'm fine getting rid of them, however I'm wondering if there is a gesture system I can have instead, for example a swipe from bottom takes me to the home screen?
Edit: I'm on rooted stock 4.3.
I'm using cataclysm ROM which has a unique feature which fades out the buttons after ten seconds in any app. Other wise I think there's an xposed module that can have swipes to navigate.

Thanks man, turns out I was Googling for the wrong thing - once I figured out that they were called navigation bars I came across an app called " GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys" for rooted devices. (For future people)
I'd rather keep with rooted stock for now but I will be sure to keep an eye on it for when I decide to dabble in roms.
Hi,
I've update from EMUI 3.1 to 4.1 / Firmware B200 to B317 and I'm quite confused because there less shortcut than before.
The one who I miss the most is sync enable/disable in shortcut and I can't find way to disable / enable it easily with this new.
I've try this update cause Photos was quite good but HD video was crappy ., Hope Android 6.0 for the P8 is better.
Thanks for your help
EDIT - Im' also block in this firmware, from update menu there is not anymore local update menu ....
Hello,
1st-
It's correct that the shortcut is gone.
If you install Quick Shortcut maker you can make it a few steps shorter [emoji6]
If you create this shortcut it opens Accounts and with Menu you get the option to toggle Sync Data

I noticed when you go into Activities through Action Launcher or Nova Launcher, you see a list of activities that can be launched which are shortcuts in the application. Bixby Voice has the same even on models which haven't even been enabled for Voice.
Using this I was able to set-up Bixby Voice wake-up word and lockscreen password after changing the language from Korean to English US. I am able to see my score and find in Recents App that Bixby Voice is in fact opened which you cannot do from opening it manually by trying to click on it within Settings or elsewhere.
I just need to find out how to enable Bixby Voice completely doing this. There must be a way.

Sorry in advance if you guys knew this already
I have actually gotten to the Bixby voice assistant screen with Bixby button showing at the bottom on a translucent screen after making Bixby Home a pop-up window using an activity to launch it, as it was hidden behind.
You all are going to be so disappointed when you actually get it working.
Feedback app and rcsservice! rcsservice "hidden" inside the feedback battery page???
Hi, i notice something strange:
if i enter settings: app and i select the "feedback" beside is impossible to disable it, if i click on "Battery" the next screen not talk anymore about "feedback" app but talk about rcsservice app!

i reset the phone, now the battery menu for the app "feedback" is like in your photo, no name/icon.
so is true for the oreo update is better do a phone reset, or strange things will happen, lol
Here's a nagging Android riddle I'd like to understand just out of curiosity, as opposed to researching an 'issue' that needs to be resolved. We all have better things to do (laundry, pull weeds, floss) than to make a case out of this post.
I'll ask anyway.
In my graphic the shortcut on the left shows normal behavior from the Settings widget in Oreo. The shortcut on the right, however, just showed up on the home screen out of nowhere. I'm clueless about how it got there and why it has color. Is anybody familiar with this?

I think it's a spyware from mobile-tracker-free.com . Coz I used it before and it comes as the name of WiFi in the settings to avoid attention of the user.

It's not spyware. But mystery solved. The peculiar green shortcut is an Oreo feature.
In my case it showed up by accident. Here's how it's done on purpose:
Long-press the Settings app icon until a pop-up box appears with a short list of widget items that can be dragged to the home screen. In my case there are only 3 options -- battery, data usage and wi-fi.
There are similar effects by long-pressing other apps like Gmail and Messages.
