I find the virtual buttons a bit of a nuisance, I would much rather use gestures. I originally wanted to hide them only on my home screen, but it seems it's all or nothing with qemu.hw.mainkeys in build.prop.
I'm fine getting rid of them, however I'm wondering if there is a gesture system I can have instead, for example a swipe from bottom takes me to the home screen?
Edit: I'm on rooted stock 4.3.
I'm using cataclysm ROM which has a unique feature which fades out the buttons after ten seconds in any app. Other wise I think there's an xposed module that can have swipes to navigate.

Thanks man, turns out I was Googling for the wrong thing - once I figured out that they were called navigation bars I came across an app called " GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys" for rooted devices. (For future people)
I'd rather keep with rooted stock for now but I will be sure to keep an eye on it for when I decide to dabble in roms.

So I've been working on a theme to post at mycolorscreen.com and when I was creating the wallpapers I took a screenshot
to get the exact size of the screen not realizing the soft key buttons covered the bottom portion of my theme (in Tablet UI).
I can get around using Apex Actions to see my recent apps and quick settings, but the problem is when I'm in expandable
desktop mode and I'm using an app I don't have the back or home button therefore I have to hold down the power button and
get out of expandable desktop mode and its just a pain in the butt and such a hassel. My question is is there anyway I can
use my volume up button for home and the volume down for back? Or perhaps an app someone knows off that could help me
with my situation?
Thanks in advance, elRei
Flash the latest Paranoid beta (v2.99 1/14/13) and turn on pie controls under Settings>Toolbars and you'll have this when swiping from the bottom of the screen in expanded desktop mode.

Yea, the stickied thread has 220+Pages of people arguing about wether or not idia will get it before singapore or why one should bother with it or not.
I just want a simple change log of things different from the original.
I have noticed the following: (in addition to the basic lists)
*LED blink disappears if you read the message preview
*2 finger swipe down for quick settings
*Daydream added (screensaver for when plugged in)
*Home button swipes
*Magnification gestures (3 tap on/off/hold and pan etc)
*Blinkfeed back button-to-top
I'l add more if this thread isn't merged
More video highlight themes, ae/af lock.

In the WIFI settings, (advanced) there is now an option to optimise battery power when WIFI is on.
Not sure what that does tbh
Auto Screen brightness SEEMS a little dimmer (a good thing imho)
I've added the info from this thread to the updates discussion thread (post #2)
I really love this 4-buttons style of AOSP, menu button is on very right position, and seems like it does not take space. Like bellow.

Thank you

Do you have any solution that make it always on instead of auto hide

Have you given pie a try? also GMD auto hide soft keys can be turned on all the time but then you have it cutting into content... sadly Softkeyz dosnt work with the G2 so for now i think the only way to get stock AOSP softkeys would be to rom an AOSP rom... i would suggest trying out pie though! didnt think id like it as much on this phone.. i just hide with GMD auto hide soft keys all the time and downloaded the PIE app from the play store... full 5.2 inch display is a win for me
On KK and LL, and even with MM it is real easy to change all the volumes.
Press either volume key once, then you was able to adjust all volume (media, notification, etc.)
Now I can press VOL_UP, VOL_DOWN, but nothing really happens.
I tried all the magic, went into Settings, but without luck.
Again, on stock it's fine.
Maybe Samsung forgot to include this in Good Lock?
They even made it official some time ago.
Pressing the empty right area there, where the normal UI have the arrow does nothing.

So something weird happened.
Installed the latest 24.0.7 version.
After installing it, and had a reboot.
When I pressed the volume keys, I had this little arrow.
Fast forward a few days.
Disliked the default purple pastel color, so I changed the color to a new one.
POOF, the arrow is gone.
It's a bug, I am 99% sure, but there is no way to contact / tell Samsung I suppose.
How do i get the half circle, spinning quick shortcut wheel to appear on the bottom left of my phone? My wife and i both have the USA T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus and her phone is the only one that does it. If you swipe upwards diagonally, from the bottom left or right corner, then the quick access wheel appears. This only works on my wifes phone. We both got them at the same time, unboxed them together and she doesnt have the smart swipe app installed from the Galaxy store, but yet her phone does it without problems. There has to be a setting on my phone that can be changed to get this to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
i have a picture i took of her screen on my phone but not sure how to share it on here.

It's not a Samsung pre-installed app. You can read here and find what is yours

Thank you for the information. So it sounds like my wife must have an app installed on her phone that contains this feature, yes/no? Second, whatever apps contain this feature, it looks like everone is trying to get rid of it. That option wont appear on my phone because i dont have any apps that support that swipe gesture?
