So the last few days whenever I try use my phone in the morning I'm getting the fingerprint scanner is not responding please try again later. I have to restart my phone to get it to work and then it's back that way again the next day. I'm using the latest batman Rom and haven't had any problems with it and then this just decides to start happening. Is this likely Rom related or what might be happening?

I've been using my fingerprint scanner more as I've been using Android Pay more, and I have noticed something incredibly annoying. About a day after I set a fingerprint, I can't get it to work. I can try over, and over, and over again and it just will not work. I can set another fingerprint using the same finger and it will work for about another day, but then the same thing happens. This has happened over a couple security updates so I know it's not specific to the latest March one. Has anyone else seen this issue? At first I thought maybe it was because my hands were dry and it was having a hard time getting a reading, but this has gotten ridiculous.
Hi guys
I recently bought an OnePlus 2. With the original firmware, I experienced a very strange and very annoying issue: My screen randomly turned off (e.g. during a chat in WhatsApp). The screen turns off and I have to turn it on again by pressing the power button. Then I enter my PIN to access my phone again and it locks AGAIN. This happens like 10 times in a row, then I have to reboot the phone and it was OK again. I seriously don't know what triggered this issue.
However, recently I got pissed of because I tried to call one of my customers and as soon as I entered my PIN and tried to open the phone app, the screen locked again and I almost threw away my phone. Damned troll.
So I decided to try another ROM as I thought it was an OS-related issue. Now I'm running Exodus Android 6.0.1. I did a clean install and guess what: The issue came back on this ROM...
In my opinion there's only something both installations (my previous 5.1.1 stock ROM and my current 6.0.1 ROM) have in common: I've been using XPosed with Amplify, Greenify and XPrivacy. Other than that, I have no idea what it might be.
Have you encountered the same or a similar issue? If so, were you able to solve it? How did you solve it?
I just uninstalled Amplify, as I think it stops somehow the Gyroscope service, that's why it locks randomly. I'll check if the issue appears again...
I think I have good news for you guys: I guess I was able to locate the issue.
I noticed it always happened when I was holding the phone in the hand I had a ring on my finger. Then I found out the phone has magnetic sensors (for flip covers).
I downloaded the Xposed module "Magnet Sensor Control", the bug hasn't appeared so far!
I hope I was able to help you guys with my findings. This thread may be closed now.
Today, my fingerprint scanner just stopped working, including the notifications gesture. Restarted the phone, went fine, then the same thing happened after work on the way home. Rebooted, still wouldn't work. Started working again when I got home. Installed the OTA update and reregistered the fingerprints. Will keep an eye on it.
Anyone else had this issue?
I had a similar issue as well. On two different occasions the sensor stopped working completely, both unlock and notification gesture. Rebooting the phone seemed to fix it for me.
It is really annoying - especially since as it doesn't happen constantly it might not help taking the phone back for warranty.
Happened twice since picking up my phone Saturday. The fingerprint sensor just stops working altogether. The phone makes no acknowledgment of tapping the sensor when on AOD or lock screen, and swiping the sensor to pull down the notifications does nothing. Reboot the phone and all is well again, so it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue.
Anyone else have this problem, any idea how to fix?
Phone is S8 on Verizon.
I think samsung just want to release update there are soo many bugs i also getting the same bug with fingerprint and iris scanner
Fingerprint sensor works fine on mine but iris scanner does not, times out during setup, i got it as far as 75% once
New phone, a lot of new software, will take time to iron everything out. On a positive note, I have not found any major issue that would actually bother me and some are my errors, I just don't know yet how to do it right. Sometimes clearing cache fixes problems like this, but since I don't have the issue, can't test it.
I guess I could try clearing cache the next time it happens. Happened twice yesterday about an hour apart.
There's a solution that I haven't tried yet in this thread:

My fingerprint scanner has been working perfectly fine until yesterday. In the morning I went on my phone and it said "fingerprint hardware not available" so I rebooted since this has happened a couple times before. This time was different. I tried to stop the oneplus fingerprint service in the apps menu in settings but the service wasn't there. So I tried reflashing my ROM (lineageos) and noe there is no fingerprint error message on the lockscreen and I get an error when trying to add fingerprints this is strange since my home button is working fine. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Try going to oxygen os and test it, it will probably work then clean flash any rom
