Battery draining sort of quickly - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ciao,
Does this mean a problem with my battery, or the rom, do you think? I hope I don't have a bad battery, it's only 1 year old. My battery drains sort of quickly; maybe 3% in 7-10 mins, screen on time.

Grazie.

Try SuperXe 8.1 stable flashable stock. I've been using for couple weeks now and battery/standby is incredible

I've already tried it. It's about the same for me. Thanks though.

Well unless your restoring app data with TB and apps are going rogue, you probably have a weak battery. It's known that original baterries in the 6p are crap. I went with a cheapie from eBay and haven't looked back. Best of luck mate

Thanks, I'll have to find a shop or something.

Try this app and see what your battery status is.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.accubattery

I think the status is "damaged battery", but I'll run this for a few days, and see what it says.

Going to the Sprint store

to get a new battery. I'm pulling 5 hours of life without even touching the damn thing, great signal and nothing running in the background.
Should I flash it back to stock before I go?
Enjoy getting your 2 years reset just for saying hello. That's usually how it works.

It was a bad joke.
I got a second battery (both OEM) and the new battery lasts twice as long as the one that shipped with my phone. Hmph.
let me know how it goes. I might be in for the same thing tomorrow.

Yes it needs to be flashed to stock first. But before that, go to settings-->Applications---->Running Services-----> and make sure to kill the one that has DRM in it. I went from the same situation at you are in to getting a day and a half of battery life.
Killing DRM hasn't helped me at all.
I've calibrated the battery, run different roms.
It's always terrible.
Turns out it was a ****ty battery.
I'm excited! Fresh battery HO

What about something like a portable charger?

Out of curiosity, how much does she want? I can easily get a 7am-midnight day, with plenty left over, and I'm pretty much running stock + franco.Kernel, auto brightness on.

Hello Brian,
While we don't have a PowerSkin available for the device at this time, we do have a product coming out this year that should be able to help--a battery charger.
Please check out the press release at our site--on the blog--and if you like what you see, be sure to sign up for our newsletter for product releases and exclusive discounts. Good luck and Charge On!

Thank you for your reply. When will the hybrid be available for purchase ? A white one would work perfect !
I want to give your products another shot. I had six defective powerskin cases for her t989.

She wants all day , unlimited like she had on her t989 with a laza extended battery . She won't let me root it so no Franco kernel.

Battery health checker ?

Hi all, I'm just wandering if is there any way to check battery health ? an app or something.
Tried several apps on Playstore and all say that my battery health is good, but I'm having a battery drain and shut down from 25%.
thx in advance.
Try Accubattery, it showed the issue with mine when it was doing similar before Google replaced it.

This.
AccuBattery shows 90% health for my battery, but still i get only 2.5hrs - 3 hrs Sceen-On Time with apps greenified and Aggressive Doze On. If you remember the details, would you mind sharing them here?
Mine was down at something like 30% just before it was replaced. Now its at 104% and I get 4-5 hours of screen on time.
Now just using stock Oreo as no need for root at the moment.

Thanks. Guess I'll stick with this battery for now.
I'm getting 4-5h SOT and, according to Accubattery, it's 87% healthy.

Interesting. I made the mistake of charging overnight at first. I only realised a while later that it only took 1 hour 45 or so to fully charge, so now I charge when I wake in the morning. Overcharging is supposed to be the main cause of battery depreciation.
When I first installed Accubattery I was at 91%, that was the end of June, don't think I'm doing too bad.

Like every Nexus phone I've owned ... since the Galaxy, I have left the phone on the charger 24/7. All day, all night. I take it off when i leave the house/office and sometimes it stays on the (stock) charger for days. The N6P has a high number of defective batteries, but that shouldn't change your daily charging habits. In other words don't change charging habits if the one device you have has a defective or sub-par battery. Put a new battery in and carry on. We have 3 N6P's in the family and they are all still above 90% according to Accubattery... Guess we are lucky.

Heat

Hi guys! So I was wondering to replace my battery, because i got about 2-3 SOT. But I'm not sure, my N6P heating, so i wondering you guys could tell what's going on with this phone.. Even after Hard Reset, at the same time its really hot. Could be that phone going to die? Or could battery replace help solve this problems? Don't judge me, I don't know to much about the phones.
Thanks and have a good day.
I replaced my battery after almost 2 years of use. Fixed all the battery problems and now I get 4-5 hours.
Get a new battery and replace it in a certified store if you don't want to do it yourself (the 6p isn't that easy to work with)
Make sure its a new original battery.
BTW heat wont make your battery life worse. It will actually slow down your phone and maybe save so battery.
If you have any questions or i didn't clearly something feel free to ask.

Returning to stock completely should fix most of these kind of bugs. So I believe it should work.

How can i prevent my phone from shutting down before the battery % reaches 0?

My note 4 shuts down before the battery percentage reaches 0. How can i fix this? Im using a debloated stock rom (https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...rom-n910tuvu1anj7-4-4-4-deodexed-ciq-t2915737). Ive tried this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/battery-shutdowns-15-20-fix-root-t3513268, but it didnt work for me.
Edit: im using a new original battery.

I'd suggest NOT getting an original battery, since there's so many counterfeits out there, unless you're directly buying from Samsung. Get a reliable 3rd party battery on Amazon with at least 18month+ warranty. It's very likely the 'new' battery you have is a counterfeit, or refurbished. I gaurantee it will be fixed with a GOOD battery. Get a refund if it still behaves that way. Cheers :highfive:
I have bought 5 battery's on ebay before I have found the right one
