Anyway ? I get errors.
probably not, you will need to wait until Samsung updates the U firmware bootloader to version 5 as currently the sprint s7 is the only one with a version 5 bootloader.

hello,
so i've been doing some readings and i know the hardware isn't the same so i know technically its impossible
but!
but what i also know is that i bought this second hand galaxy s7 that had android 6.0 using g930f rom, i tried to upgrade it to 7.0 automatically but it didn't detect and update. so i decided to flash a 7.0 rom manually. to my surprise in the download mode it said it was a 930p model and now i am stuck with a sprint version with no hotspot or lte.
so as i don't know if it was a custom rom or something but it used to have a g930f rom in it
What firmware did you flash? You may be able to put the u firmware on that may solve your problem
tried going to the U version but the binary thing is still behind the P version so i need to wait for the U to be updated (or thats what i read)
but that is not my concern here, i want to know how i had an F version while its technically impossible,

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to go from the P Sprint firmware to U firmware. I want to be able to root my device on QL1. The guide on the forum is for U firmware, but I attempted with my stock Sprint firmware and the only thing I couldn't get to work was mobile data, as APN settings are not adjustable on stock firmware. Is there a way to flash U firmware if I am on stock P?
Thanks,
csmyka

It is possible if your bootloader version is lower than 5, firmware for unlocked version have latest bootloader revision 4. Sprint updates bootloader just to remove this possibility of crossflashing. You are on QL1 version so is not possible at the moment

I have upgraded to RA1 since I posted. Does this still make it impossible?

RA1 is still on 4. If you look at past firmware info, this should be sorted out when Oreo drops.
Before I send it to Samsung to repaired my S8+, the phone has the unlock version g955u1, but when I got it back, it is g955u with tmobile on it. Is it possible to change it back ? I have android 8.0 right now with January 2018 security patch. Most of the firmware I found are 7.0. I am new to android I might need some extra help here.
I believe you should be able to flash Nougut fw with odin (not 100% sure but should be able to) . Just make sure that the bootloader versions are the same.
Nevermind, I miss understood your question. You'll have to wait until the oreo fw is released before you can change from u to u1 or vise versa
good evening. i need to downgrade to every possible version before 1 august patch (because with this version is impossible to bypass 7 days for oem unlock).....
i have this rom
G950FXXU3CRGH_G950FOXM3CRGH_BTU
can anyone link me an european version compatible with downgrade and same bootloader?
i hope an answer
Hi,
Check BTU or DBT
thanks... please confirm that i can only flash over mine only the 2 version of bootloader based rom? or is there a way to flash even 2 version? thanks many
There's some talk about downgrading going on here and here, please take a look and decide what to do, but be careful
Hello everyone. Long time since i post.
I have serious problem. For some reason im not satisfied with a video performance and batterylife on Pie, and i wanna move back to Nougat (not Oreo). Yet Odin seems dosent alow me to do that. Please i wanna know if its possible, wich i presume it is, and what version of Odin should i use ? I do have downloaded 5 files official rom wich i already flashed last year from Oreo to Nougat, but i have problem flashing it from PIE to Nougat. What version of Odin do i need and what setting?

You can not downgrade bootloader versions. So if your on pie with version 4 bootloader the lowest you can go is the earliest version of Oreo with bootloader version 4. Anything with 3,2 or 1 bootloader can't be flashed.
My god. So there is no Odin way or any other way to bypass bootloader restriction?

As far as I know no you can't downgrade bootloader versions.
Thanks for the reply. I just flashed the earliest Oreo firmware with bootloader binary 4 wich is actually last big change in stable releases of Oreo. NExt 3 releases were only security updates. I cant get lower then that since two more Oreo firmwares before that had BL number 3 and 2 - Nougat starts with 1 unfortunately. I really hoped maybe guys on XDa figured this thing out too downgrade to lower BL numbers, but i guess its not possible. .If i knew that before, i would never upgrade this shi..t to PIe. Hopefully Oreo will do fine now.
