G8142 (dual SIM) also updated. The rapid screen brightness changing issue I hate so much has been improved but not perfected. At least I don't get a headache now.
I've bought an XZ premium today and got this update soon as I'd set it up. Do security updates come regularly for Sony phones? This is my first.

I wonder if you have the Centralised EU handset? Must be that.
I have no idea. Being my first sony device I don't have any idea about how to identify different versions.

Well that depends on how you purchased the phone. If its through a carrier it will take longer to get security updates :good:

State what region and if branded/unbranded.

I got it. Im on AT&T in the US. The phone is UK vodafone branded, it was the 14 before the update. I got it last night as I was waiting for sunrise.

It is legitimate but it does take up to a month for release post certification.
You are correct in stating that most are regionally specific versions of the same update but the "R2C" series would be something different.

The 2.1 update is so huge so I'd expect a bigger bump like R3 or even R5 if the marketdroids have any say.
We are actually 13 days into Q3.... only 79 days until Q4.... I so wish SE would be more open with their f/w update plans.. I'm very pleased with what R2BA020 has done to my handset... but what else may be coming in the pipeline is just distracting !!!

Sure it is, I like to update to have a smoother experience but on the other hand I am not a flash adict to update every now and then. Its fun but time consuming.
Lets hope to have bigger updates. Where is the log published by SE?
i have a rogers x10a on unlocked on att. everytime i try the update i get a network error. and i've got 3 bars of 3g. i don't understand. usually it says either your phone is currently up to date or there is a new update. not network error...

I have the same setup.
No OTA, SEUS only for the update but we are still at R2BA020 released July 2nd.
So this morning, (around 15 min ago), my X10i said that there were an update available. When I want to update it, it says: "You need an computer to update your phone. Read more about this on SE's homepage"?..
I know very little about updates and Android, but could this be 2.1?
Could be nice if someone could give me/us the information

It's unlikely but you there's always a chance. Where are you located and what's your current version? It could just be an earlier update depending on the version installed.
Before your post I was playing with my phone and I was looking for the update button under the settings but its not there anymore and don't know what has happened to it, I just did computer update check and nadda.
Still wondering where is my update button under setting/about but its not there.
I just checked and there's nothing in the UK this morning, phone says my r2ba026 is the latest ..
i thought the official update was due 15th september?

I'd suggest killing the thread otherwise there will be 20 pages of nothing by the time i get home from work - lol

I am with Vodafone UK and still "stuck" with 024. What would be the point updating to 1.6 026, when in 2-3 weeks time we will get 2.1? I think it would be waste of time "developing" 026.

Not necessarily. Japan got an update last week that brought it to R1EA029, which isn't available anywhere else I think. The update for 2.1 in Japan is also scheduled for "October-ish"

Same changelist number. This is probably a update that ONLY includes security fixes(Like Google does with their monthly updates). Most likely developers are gonna stick with OKD because its a higher changelist number.

That qokd , that looks like a provider rom, they have a higher number always, the build date of this rom in 20th of November

No it was the one from the nordic countries(it IS i got really confused for a while because... reasons ), that includes VoLTE, this probably doesnt include it. Also I was comparing it to the previous french build, which is exactly the same as the one from Sept 25.

Yes it is, but it's only 30MB+has no changelist difference and the changelog only says security update=100*% just vulnerability fixes(It's confirmed a security patch only)
It doesn't have the volte or wifi calling. The Nordic is supposed to have those features.

Don't forget, that the previous XEF update broke the spo2 and stress measuring features! I will skip this, for THAT reason.
and that was very hard to go back from that XEF....
Still on a VDF ROM. My phone is just two months old so I am not going to play with roms etc anytime soon.

you are right, after some googling it's enabled with on some csc's but disabled on others (eg PHN, always late to get updates though)

I had to double check, but it looks like it shipped w/ 1.11.617.1...the 1.11.617.1 RUU was uploaded on 6/2 so I'm pretty sure that was the shipped version

- 14/09/2017 i sent a email to Huawei asking for a time-frame to fix BlueBorne Bluetooth vulnerability (no EMEI sent).
- 15/09/2017 I received OTA update MHA-L29C432B194 ( never thought it could be only for me !!!, not used to this type of support !!! )
- 17/09/2017 Posted message to see feedback from other users...
Still talking with Huawei as it did not fix the BlueBorne Bluetooth vulnerability, and my Bluetooth is always on to pair with a Smart band...

To establish a pattern of regions where the fw has and hasn't been released. Huawei is famous for delaying or outright excluding whole regions and IMEI ranges for unknown reasons. This allows those excluded to make an informed decision when resorting to alternative upgrade solutions. My device was excluded from B138 back in the day for example.

Huawei has a month to test ROM on various beta-testers, then start to roll out it via OTA.
I just got 194 OTA
