So, just NAND flashed my HD2 over to DFT's .2 release of Android. This gave me the infamous MAC address issue of 00:11:22:33:44:55. Now according to a long searched for forum post if you go to:
/system/etc/ find file calibration and open it as view in text editor
in first line you will see the mac address
put your desired mac address, save and exit.
Now, for this you need Root Explorer. So I downloaded and installed Root Explorer. However when I run it, the program tells me I haven't granted the program super user access. Exact text: " Root access could not be obtained because su failed with the following message: permission denied Make sure you granted root permission when requested by SuperUser. If you did then try re-rooting your device. Root explorer will not continue in non-root mode." When I check in super user the page is BLANK. No programs have even requested super user access for me to give permissions to. I'm at a loss, either the version of Android isn't rooted, or the app isn't requesting SU access like it should. Either way I can't fix the MAC address issue. So, does anyone have an idea on how to fix either Root Explorer not getting SU access or the MAC address issue that doesn't require me to edit that file?
Download a program called "Z4Root" and run a Permanent Root, about 15 seconds after "Rebooting..." appears, restart your phone and try Root Explorer again and Allow it SuperUser Permissions
Got that to work last night actually! Now I'm just waiting to see what file should actually be edited as the calibration file isn't in system/etc.
My friend got the same problem (he got MAC adress like 00:00:00:00:00:00). Now i'm trying to find "adress" file in /sys/devices/virtual/net/eth0/ but nothing..
Hello guys. I have encountered a problem on my 6P. First, it started when I was unable to save any projects in the Snapseed app, unable to save message. And now I tried to install the ad-free YouTube app on xda forum, by making a folder in system/app/YouTube and changing permissions to 755. When I try to change permissions, I get an error in root browser, permission change not successful. I don't know if these errors are related, and I have no idea what could cause them, so I thought I'd give it a shot here. Anyone? Running Pure Nexus nougat and elementalx kernel. Rooted (supersu).
In some roms like lineageos and others ... You may have problems with some system packages and apps. But now you can fix these problems. In the installer lineageos rom the package installer sometimes has problems, to solve this problem (requires rooting)
1. Download This file first.
2. Then rename it to GooglePackageInstaller.
3.Then paste it into the following folder path with the file in it.
Code:
root/system/priv-app/googlepackageinstaller
4. Reboot your phone.
If you have any problems in the post, report your problem.
Edit: posted in error
Hello guys,
I have a problem. when i flash this rom ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-9t/development/unofficial-pixel-experience-t3969567 ) or AOSPExtended ROM, my wifi is not turning on. But on miui roms it is working...
i couldnt find any solution? Can you help me about that ?
Try deleting /persist/wlan_mac.bin and reboot.
You can do that with Termux or adb shell if you are rooted or you can mount persist in twrp and use the integrated file manager.

Thank you for your reply i m trying now.
if i use your info and reinstall miui rom, do i meet any problem ?
you should boot one time on a custom rom with the patch for the wifi mac problem before flashing MIUI. I don't know if PE has that included, I can certainly tell you Evolution X has. So deleting the file and booting Evolution X latest zip one time and it should restore your wifi_mac.bin with the correct information and then it should work everywhere with no more tweaks needed in the future.

Thank you greatly. I was having same issue and continuously reflashing different versions of stock rom with recovery/fastboot from different regions. This worked
Lineage 17 and last version Magisk installed.
Buildprop last version installed.
Buildprop shows SuperUser rights
I want the entry then
ro.product.system.brand
change from samsung to htc
Why? To get the Samsung Wear app working for Watch 3 ...
But I got an error.
Report from BuildProp:
Please ensure the app has root ...
But they are there and are displayed under properties ...
What am I doing wrong?
Problem solved with a workaround.
Finding: You don't need a BuildProp ...
After installing MagisK you have root rights.
As a file manager you take the TotalCommander and give it root rights.
You can then access the build.prop file in the system directory and change it with the integrated text editor.
Just stupid:
My SamsungWear app still does not start.
But this is another story...
