i have an a300f running 4.4.4
every time i open the second sim slot to change the sim, the phone opens a window with "restart" and you have to reboot the complete phone,
to enter another sim, despite the fact that in background, the phone is still working it seems.
is there a way around this totally annoying behaviour? maybe a mod or some hack?
i want to change sims on the fly, without rebooting anything.
thanks

I recall there being a system setting for this. You do not have to install any app or module to get rid of that.
Try checking under security or sim settings. There is an option to stop your phone from restarting every time you change your sim.
under security "find my mobile" there is an option called "sim change alert", but its obviously not for the wanted purpose.
there is nowhere another option for this.
Anyone knows a mod/hack for this??
No other dual sim phone shows this idiotic behaviour..
i am still looking for a solution..

Hi,
I have one of 6 P4350's that go into a "hibernation" mode after being idle for about an hour or so. If the phone is called, the caller will hear it ringing, but the handset does not ring. If the power button is depressed or the slider opened during the ringing, the device will start to ring.
When it is this mode, it will not accept SMS or give a missed calls notification.
Has any had any similar experiences?
Thanks
What do you mean by you have 1 of 6? My 4350 goes into a hibernation mode; they all should.
Anyways have you tried to hardreset it?
We have 6 4350s and I own one, but all 6 give the same problem. I agree that it should go into power save mode, but after being in this mode for about an hour it will not ring when called.
Yes, we have hard reset them with no success. After a hard reset, the device boots and then a customisation process runs. Is there any way to prevent this process from running?
So all 6 have the problem of not ringing when asleep? I find that very amazing that you have 6 devices that are not working correctly. Perhaps its a setting but I don't recall ever seem a setting of this nature on my phone. Do you know what ROM version you are running? Have you tried a different providers SIM in the phone?
Yep,
All six give the same problem. Strange thing is that they run 2 different ROM versions.
We got our provider to run some checks and they can "page" the phone from the switch and it responds, but yet will not ring. I will try a SIM from another provider and see if that solves the problem.
I seem to have the same problem on my new P4350.
After being idle for some time, for example when i get up in the morning, it doesnt receive incoming phone calls. And a hard reset did not help either.
Do you already know the solution to this problem?
The same with me... on WM6
The Solution
Well, it seems to work again.
But i don't really know how i solved it
It's one of three things:
1. I changed a setting which said to automatically switch of the device after three minutes or so.
2. After calling my telco provider they said that i should switch of my phone for at least 10 minutes each day so that the SIM card has up-to-date network information.
3. I installed a new SIM card, which was necessary because of a new subscription.
I think that the first solution did not really help, since i think that after i changed that the phone still didnt work a few times. Same for the second solution.
But after i installed the new SIM card, it has not happened once
"Knockin on wood"
Hope this can help some of you in solving this problem.
Hi guys,
Today, after having my SGS I9000 for about three months, I ran into a very, very, frustrating problem.
All of a sudden, after I turned my phone off and on, it asked me for a SIM unlock code. I did not buy the phone from a provider. I bought it in Asia, independent from a carrier.
Why now? After a few months of working without any hitches, this happens.
After I dug around for some information, I tried rooting the phone so I could get an unlock code using an app. However, the three button method to get to the recovery mode doesn't seem to work with my phone.
This is truly a pain and I really don't know what to do. Can anybody give me some tips?
if the 3 button combo dont work, you will have to do the 3 button fix, you can do this by booting into download mode via ADB (android debug bridge) and then when you have fixed the 3 button combo, you can then root and install the app that removes the network lock.
I have no idea why that happened, normally when network lock is off it stays off.
Have you done anything to the phone that may of caused this ??
Anyway i know its quite a mission you have got to do, but when its done, try to make a nandroid backup for future references, or if the app gives you a code (i have never used it) keep a copy incase it happens again.

I don't think this has anything to with the network specific sim as u have said u bought it independent of carrier..Just contact ur network provider and they will give u the sim unlock code
After than go to settings and "Location and Security" and disable sim lock option
Hope it helps

Thanks for the replies, guys.
Yes, it is indeed strange that it suddenly popped up. It was working extremely fine before that and everything just went downhill!
I'm not sure if I did anything to the phone that may have caused it...I rarely download things and only use the phone to make calls/text/surf the web.
Doing all the necessary fixes seem to take quite a bit of time and from how busy I am these days, I won't be able to invest in doing it myself.
I am thinking of getting it unlocked professionally at a shop.
And I highly doubt it is an actual SIM code from my provider. I'm under Fido and I've tried most of the default codes and they do not work.
I just bought a used Note 3. Everything seems to work fine but I keep getting this error "SIM card removed. Unable to detect your SIM card. Your device will restart to check for your SIM card."
I don't get this error right away, it seems to happen within 30 minutes or so of turning the phone on with the SIM card. From doing some searches for this problem, it seems to be a common problem on the S4 but I couldn't find much on the Note 3. When this happens on the S4 it sounds like it's an irreparable hardware problem.
Is this a common problem with the Note 3? Is it possible that the SIM card is the problem here? Or would that crop up right from the start?
The phone has the latest software updates but no software has been downloaded, the phone hasn't been activated and I haven't even associated it with my Google account. So it's as close to virgin as can be. I bought it through Amazon so I can return it if it is a hopeless case.
Any advice?
I tried a second SIM card and got the same error so I'm confident it's not the card.
Sprint is telling me the phone is fine but the problem is that the phone hasn't been activated. Can that be right? Doesn't sound right or it wouldn't take 30 minutes to get the error message.
Can someone shed some light on this? Is this normal or is something wrong with the phone?
So just to update in case anyone in the future has this problem and finds this thread.
I activated my phone and I no longer receive this error message. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my phone, it was simply an activation issue. Strange, but that's what it is.

No, I mean adding the phone to my account and assigning it a phone number.
Prior to this I was just testing the phone out over wi-fi just to make sure everything was working OK. SinceI bought it used I didn't want to go through the hassle of adding it to my account and then finding out something was wrong with the phone and having to keep switching phones out. But the phone didn't like having a SIM in the slot while not activated. Once I assigned a phone number to the phone the error stopped.

Thank you, but still have no idea about "activating the phone"?
How can you assign a phone number to the phone?
Sorry I'm not familiar with this

I can't tell if you are being serious or joking. With 2000+ I would think you are familiar with activating a phone.
Maybe these links from Sprint will help you understand:
www.sprint.com/activate/

Of course I'm serious. May be this term is applied for Sprint carrier only?
I have never heard before.
Thanks though.
So I've been using (T-Mobile) D80120a for a long time and was having some issues with it so I thought I'd try upgrading since latest version is D80120g. I was hoping it would fix some of them.
My issues:
1. If my phone was on vibrate, it sometimes would act like silent mode, not even vibrating when I would get a text.
2. Bluetooth (music) in my new car will sometimes pause, then fast forward to catch up. Not sure if this is my car or phone's issue.
3. Worst of all, my phone turns itself off without notice. Sometimes multiple times in a short amount of time. No sound, no vibration, nothing. Never while using it or charging but sometimes when I haven't even touched it...
4. Some apps randomly tell me my phone is not rooted when I know it is. I have and use SuperSU and I've removed some system apps such as widgets that I don't use and are safe to remove. Also, apps such as ES File Explorer refuse to mount the /system folder. I can browse and edit all root folders except that one.
After successfully upgrading to g, all issues are fixed except 2, which again may not be my phone's fault. BUT g has added a new issue, now knock on/off will not work for some reason. I've turned it off and back on, and restarted a thousand times. Is there an apk responsible for allowing knock to work? What all can I try?
and btw, I'm also looking for a bloatware list for t-mobile D80120g! All of them I have found don't include everything or has a bunch of stuff that isn't there. I know some of this is crap but I'm really trying to only remove safe stuff so my issues don't return!
Try this to see if the knock on/off works

The best solution is to open dialer menu and type:
5689#*980# (Sprint)
3845#*801# (T-Mobile)
3845#*803# (AT&T Canada)
3845#*802# (International)
3845#*800# (At&T)
3845#*980# (Verizon)
And when hidden menu is showed up, go to "Settings"
and go to "Update Touch Firmware". Then touch will stop working for 5 seconds after this it should be working.

I saw that post somewhere else but when I enter 3845#*801# I get the message "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"

There is no way this to happen. Be sure you enter this 3845#*801#. My mistake was swapping # with *. You are obviously on stock firmware. Be sure you have connection. When i was entering it i didn't have to press the call button. It automatically opens after you enter it right. If this not help i think you can try reseting it to factory settings.
Yeah I tried it many times and double/triple checked I'm doing it correctly. Nothing happens when I type it in and I get that message if I try to dial it. I am using my wifi but I also tried my phone's 4G, same result. Anything else I can try?

Ah I got it! You were right with the information you gave me, it fixed the issue. I am using a better dialer which apparently the hidden menu only works for the default dialer. Thank you!

Ah i didn't thought about this. However it's good you fixed it! :highfive:
I can't get roaming to work on my op6t.. can't find the toggle but also can't tap SIM1 without phone app FC.. any ideas and help would be appreciated..
Many thanks!
If you're rooted with Magisk modules, and most specifically one that does call recording I'm just going to tell you to go search from there. I got you halfway to your solution.
If you're not rooted, don't know what to tell you....factory reset.
Turns out something went wrong and the parts and toggles went missing in SIM settings after I transferred the data from my op6 to this op6t.. weird but solved now..
