[Guide] Official Oreo for C432 L29/L09 and flashing instructions - Huawei Mate 9 Guides, News, & Discussion

There is already official Oreo update for our C432 in Firmware Finder - MHA-L09 8.0.0.361(C432). I managed to flash the update like this:
1. Download Firmware Finder from Google play.
2. Search for MHA-L09 (or MHA-L29). Look for MHA-L09 8.0.0.361(C432) FullOTA (at this time there are 4 builds 107981, 107977, 109979 and 107978). I succeeded with 107978.
3. Press download and select update.zip, update_data_full_public.zip and update_full_MHA-L09_hw_eu.zip ( or update_full_MHA-L29_hw_eu.zip)
4. Follow exactly the ""Flash update" procedure" from mankindtw thread.
As it is update all settings and data are intact, the bootloader stayed unlocked.
Once again - this is the procedure it worked for me and it might not work for you. I am not responsible for any damage you cause to your phone. Remember that flashing phone might get it bricked - read carefully and double check everything before acting. Press thanks if i helped.

Can confirm. Went from 329 to 361, bootloader stayed intact.
I'm not sure it's official release though. Just because it's not LOG doesn't mean it's official release. But it does match AL00's version for release so maybe.

Good news. Are you guys in stock before doing this? Just unlocked/rooted? I'm currently on fROMFuture 198, wandering if I should try this.

Not sure it will work on Nougat to Oreo. I'm not sure why it even worked in Oreo. I know though it get locked if you flash oeminfo, that might have something to do with it.

I have MHA-L29C567B190 and when I search in firmware finder MHA, MHA-L09 or MHA-L29 I get "Sorry we do not have any firmwares for this model at the moment". I'm in the US ...maybe that it.

I updated using this method too, from stock, requires to unlock bl, but the update will relock it.

Yes, unlock bl, update, then you'll have a locked bl again.

I am currently on MHA-L29 8.0.0.321(C432log), would I be able to update to 8.0.0.362 (C432) using this method? Thanks.

Right now my firmware shows as NRD90M test-keys. My about phone shows MHA-L29C567B190.
Do you think I could follow this procedure when the unlock routine shows the NRD90M status? Then unlock Oreo, and upgrade to PIE? (Or, maybe the Pie could update automatically?)
I'm waiting to hear confirmation from DC that I can unlock while it sees the firmware as nrd90M test-keys.

Upgrading to EMUI 4.0 via HiSuite ROM Installing option

Hello XDA!
My current build number is C636B170 and i want to install C432B550 Marshmallow update. I tried the "Local Update" option but it fails everytime.
The ROM Flashing option in HiSuite, can i install the update with that option? I would be happy if someone gave me an answer for my problem.
Thanks
You can't, either you wait for an official update for your Custc or you change your Custc (c636) to (c432) by
First: unlocking your bootloader
Second: download (c432b052) firmware and flash it.
Then download the b170 and local update it then you can download and update to b550
All the tutorial can be found in xda by little search

I flashed a ROM which is based to C432B052 but it kinda made my sim unusable for that ROM. And i was unable to local update either.
I want to know
1. A site where i can download official firmware for my phone
2. How to properly install it with fastboot (i can do it but i feel like i am missing something very important)
Thanks

you may lose your imei after flashing b052 but you will be able to restore it after updating to b170
btw your phone is dual sim or single sim ? from the build number you gave before it should be a dual sim, if it is then continue.
after flashing b052 download b170 and extract it then take the update.app and make a folder in the root of your device named (dload) and put it there. you should find the update in the local update.

[Guide downgrade from Nougat Beta]

As we all know Huawei released the nougat beta for honor 8 (for UK and India for now) and let's be honest. It's beautiful right? But not all features work just yet (yeah I talking about you guys) Bluetooth and NFC. I'm sure Huawei has a good reason why.
So many users both bootloader locked and unlocked may want to downgrade. So here's the procedures.
Bootloader Locked.
1. Download your Marshmallow package (for your region) my is NEE (B120)
2. Extract the zip in a folder called dload if it doesn't exist create it to the EXTERNALSD! Not the internal one!
3. Once done Power down the Phone and power it up while holding both Volume up and Down at the same Time. Now the downgrade Procedure should work*
*IF downgrade Procedure didn't work download another package because you most likely downloaded the wrong package.
4. Reboot into recovery and wipe DATA factory reset else it won't boot!
UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER.
Do the same procedure as locked bootloader to the step 3
4. Reboot into Fastboot and Re unlock your device. NOTE HOLD POWER DOWN AFTER YOU SELECTED YES! So it boot back to bootloader mode (fastboot)
5. Flash twrp recovery
7. Now you can either restore one of your previous backup or wipe your phone without wiping complete internal sd. I prefer restore previous backup so you won't have to setup your device again.
Hope this covers things up for all of you.
Regards

It didn't work for me. I tried to downgrade from the B320 version of the beta. I've downlaod the previous L04 mm version i had before getting the beta. I first tried to put the "update" zip in my sd card, it failed, then i extract the update zip on my desktop and put what i extract from the zip in my sd card and tried again. It still failed for the step 3. I would really like to be able to downgrade since the poor battery life from the beta. Any solutions?

Update from EMUI 4.1 to 5.*

Hi guys,
I would like to update my M3 BTV-DL09 from C100B010 to the firmware C100B302.
Now I have some questions:
- is the B302 still a beta build? If yes, does anyone know, when a final build is to be expected for Europe/Germany?
- I removed the updater app (thought I will not need it) and im rooted and Bootloader unlocked, so I cannot install the update.app container at the moment. Solution would be to flash stock Bootloader and then do it again via the secret code menu. Does anyone have the stock bootloader for B010 as flashable zip for TWRP?
I think you can extract files from update.app file, such as stock recovery...
I am on B302 and it seems to be official. At least that's what all pages with update tutorial say.
Only problem that I have is that bluetooth isn't working. I have no idea what to try.

I updated my device to B302 just yesterday using firmware finder and OTA.
I think that for LTE version the latest build is B303 and the update is an official stable build and files are uploaded on official Huawei server.
The C100B302 it a BETA, the newer C100B303 also is a BETA.
All Huawei firmware came from OFFICIAL Huawei servers...
The "updater" app is only required to check for OTA updates. ALL the updates are then installed by the RECOVERY module that is often overwritten by TWRP.
NEVER rewrite flash partitions if you're not knowing what you are doing! Search for a tutorial on Android partitions and read it!!!
No theme app!
I just upstaged my M3 wifi model w09, to the B302 version, its bootloader is locked and not rooted.
The only problem now I have is that I can not use or change themes, bcuz the system Theme app is not available, as if it hasn't been installed!
Any solution now that I'm not rooted?

Use this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/9-lite/how-to/unlock-bootloader-code-t3859685
1a. Downgrade firmware to 8.0.0.xxx (June patch) via androidhost.ru - search for your device, get a C432 version.
1b. Downgrade, instructions are in the 'ReleaseDoc' folder. Use the forced install method
I rolled back from september or october update to june's. there's instructions inside every firmware (nothing fancy, used default tutorial in there). Mine device was also locked VKY-L29.
I would appreciate if anyone successfully rolled back from VKY-L09 8.0.0.327 (C654) (November patch) can confirm it...
Also, as this has been probably done for getting the bootloader unlocked, if you can confirm being able to unlock the bootloader, I would appreciate it even more
What firmware did you use to roll back?
My understanding is (and I might be wrong) that rolling back from C654 can brick the phone, so just want to stay on the safe side.
TIA

I think that the Problem is that the Xloader Version changed from the September to the October Update from 01 to 02 or something and that is the Problem

Thanks @StarSix01, that is what I am afraid too. In summary, I think one cannot unlock bootloader if on C654B327 as neither it can be done by any tool/hack (so far) nor it can be rolled down to the build that can be unlocked. :crying:

Yes i think thats The Case
My understanding is that you may downgrade firmware to june's, so you could unlock bootloader.
i did that with L29 model, don't see why it should differ to L09.
You can not unlock bootloader with firmware newer than june's - that's true, but that's not the same as downgrade. Take a look at tutorial link i posted beforw. There're step by step instructions ± a link to telegram chat with support.

Ok, next question - do you follow HUAWEI VKY-L09 8.0.0.370(C432) Software Upgrade Guideline.docx guide from "release doc" folder? And if yes, do you use "Force upgrade" mode?
If both answers is "yes", then did you try to download september/october firmware and try to downgrade to it?
