Hello friends! I'm sorry for my terrible english.
Since 4th december I had a problem with whatsapp. I always setted up SD Card instead of internal memory, but now something works bad.
If someone send me a media, like a picture or a video, I can see it one time, then it fail and it's impossible found it on my memory. I observed this situation and I made some tests:
- Removed and install whatsapp again, cleaning memory and whats app folders: it do the same;
- Moved whatsapp on internal memory: it works well, without any problem;
- So I made a new backup and moved again on external SD: it loss again media and it recover from 4th december backup;
- I went on my Google Drive, and clean all file about whatsapp backup, then I moved again whatsapp to internal memory, cleaning SD card, and I moved again it on SD Card >>>>> IT FIND AGAIN 4th december BACKUP and loss media after receiving them;
- Cleaning everything again end moving to internal memory, it work fine.
I think my P9 Lite needs to be resetted, because of a bugged or too dirt DALVIK CACHE (I'm not rooted), but I'd like to know if there are other chance to solve without make an Hard Reset.
PS: my wife has same phone and same configuration and she hasn't problem.
Thank you for early answer to all...

Hello, i was doing scan disk using mechanic yesterday, unfortunetaly my mda crashed [or it was going so slow that i didnt notice], i rebooted device and then *puff*, my data on sd disappeared [not all] but there is still the same amount of memory in use as previous
edit: ok i did logical format ;]
I have the same problem myself. I experienced a total SD data lost (everything in the SD) and I've just experienced a partial SD data lost (the folder 'Program Files'. I've tried looking for an answer but .. can't seems to find any. Hmmm.. I used to backup my memory into my SD.. now I think I have to backup my SD as well.. sigh.
Let me know if you find any answer.
Yesterday Skype started FC'ing so I uninstalled it, then attempted to re-install the same application. When attempting to install the Skype apk (the one allowing 3g calls) I received a message stating it could not be installed because I was out of memory.
Here are my memory stats... How can I be out of memory?
9.71gb available on external SD
12.39gb available on internal SD
1.7gb available on internal storage
Thanks for any suggestions...
Not sure what the issue was... Did a titanium back-up of everything and then factory reset. Restored with Titanium, installed Skype without issue.
Thank God for Titanium backup... Takes a 3 hour job and makes it a 5 minute job.
this is a known skype issue (i venture to say it wasnt on other apps)
to solve it without all that TB work, you just have to go to root explorer and go to the folder "/data/data", and delete the folder "com.skype.raider". Then try to install.
sorry for not seeing it earlier, your 5 minute job could have been a 30 second job
Oh well, thanks... All is good!
Hi Forum,
I have a motorola defy green lens. I'm using CM 7.2 stable and the external memory is currently 8G.
I bought a 32G card and want to upgrade my phone. I wonder how I should do it peacefully. I mean no re-installation needed?
I think copy everything from the old card to the new one is good enough?
Thank you !
Just take care that applications installed on the external memory are in a hidden directory.
I moved them on internal memory, and then just copied the other data.

Hi xlyz.
Why didn't you just copy everything (including the hidden data) directly to the new card?
Questions go in the Q&A section
Afaik they ate not in a hidden directory, but in a sort of hidden partition, and having only few apps to me it was faster to move them back to main memory that investigate further.

I bought a 2015 J5 for Mrs Baldrick and she was delighted with the size and general speed but - like a lot of folks - she quickly started to hit the low memory warning: to the point were with only 5-6 apps loaded she was having to ask me to clean out email and text caches every 2-3 days.
We just got the 6.0.1 update and I bought a larger micro sd card and moved all of her photos out of the internal memory and that has got the phone back to around 1.5gb / 1.6gb of free internal storage space but that is still not great and I want to find a better long term solution.
My wife doesn't want me 'messing up her phone up doing weird things with it' so what I was thinking of is:
1. Install TWRP via ODIN
2. Use TWRP to install the adoptable storage patch (and root the phone with SuperSU while I'm at it)
3. Stick in a new 64GB microSD, format and adopt as additional internal storage.
4. Migrate existing internal data to the new storage.
5. Make sure the photo, video and music apps are defaulting to the new storage space to store their files.
6. Use root privilege to uninstall a lot of the default Samsung and Vodafone bloatware (like the full MS office apps)
Any other tricks I'm missing here or is this as good a solution as I can get without going for CM13 or similar? Anyone worked out exactly which default apps can be safely zapped?
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Just use app2sd with classic method selected . Any Huge apps like snapchat or google maps can be moved to sd without formatting it as adoptable sd. Also when you update in playstore app will remain on sd.
Hello XDA. I have a very strange problem with my P9 Lite. It is rooted and it has TWRP 3.0.2-0. I think the only major change was that I have unlocked the second SIM slot.
I have been doing some cleaning in my photos, I sorted them and kept the best only and bla bla...I have deleted a lot of photos (+100).
Everything was fine, until I restarted the phone. Suddenly all of the deleted photos were back.
I have disabled WiFi and data to be sure, that they do not somehow recover from google drive/google photos (even though I not using them).
I have tried different gallery apps and deleting in file explorer, but still no luck.
Please help me
very lucky man.
Are they on SD card?

Yes, all of them are on sd card
I think I got it working.
Installed new recovery (because of 255 error) by METICULUS, installed xposed 87.1 by wanam and Marshmallow SD fix.
Granted sd card access to some gplay gallery app and finally I can delete photos.
/edit: Nevermind...still cant delete.
Try to backup your photos and format it from PC. I had the same problem with microSD card and i figured out that the problem is in the card(maybe its life was over 😀), buyed new one and everything was fine.
