Hello all,
I'm having a weird issue with my Galaxy S5. When I unlock the device I occasionally get a full screen advert that needs to be exited via the top left/right cross (seems to vary) or by accessing the advert.
Back in September I rooted my phone, then decided to un-root due to all my banking apps failing (due to detecting the root).
I re-downloaded the firmware (H3G-G900FXXS1CQD1-20170518173124.zip) -sorry, I can't 100% remember where from - and I'm worrying that the firmware might be dodgy?
When the advert shows if I open the task manager on the phone I can see it's an app called "Internet" with the same logo as the "Samsung Internet" app but with a different name.
Is it just the Samsung Internet app advertising to me or could it be something worse?
I've scanned my phone with various anti virus and anti malware products which have found nothing.
Can anyone help at all? Thanks in advance. I'm not allowed to post screenshots yet but have uploaded them ready for when I meet the requirements.
I honestly may not be one who can provide too much help, however from what it sounds is that it's an malasious app that has "infected" your phone or an app that you have downloaded that is causing this (sadly there are many apps like this now adays). What makes me wonder about the first case listed is the fact that it uses the same symbol with a different name. Could you please list the name for me?
Hello there, the app that shows the advert is called "Internet" with the same logo as the actual "Samsung Internet" app.
St first I thought it was maybe Samsung selling themselves out to allow annoying adverts but now I'm not sure.
Any help is appreciated.
Ah, still think I'm unable to post the pictures or send links until I have >10 posts.
Any ideas on the advert issues?
Yay, looks like I can now post links to pictures.
Here is what I am experiencing:
Sorry about the screen filter
I'd download the firmware package again but from sammobile if you didn't grab it from there last time. No full screen or internet adverts should be displaying on a fresh install.
Alternatively, you can use a custom debloated samsung ROM that may work better on your device.
For me that was the AT&T installed remote control app. When I allowed automatic updates at some point the latest version started showing those adds randomly when I unlocked the phone. Once I downgraded and turned off automatic updates the adds stopped.
Hmm, now I'm concerned about where I got the file. I think there is a possibility it might have been from: https://samsung-firmware.org/ which is now blocked by my antivirus with the quote "blocked a suspected bad URL or an unwanted program."... Concerning.
I must also have downloaded from sammobile at some point as when trying to re-download there it added "(1)" to the end of the file, indicating the exact file exists in my downloads folder.
Here is the version of the files by site:
sammobile.com: G900FXXS1CQD1_G900FH3G1CPJ1_H3G.zip
samsung-firmware.org: H3G-G900FXXS1CQD1-20170518173124.zip
Interesting is that the file from samsung-firmware.org is 1KB larger in file size than the one from sammobile.com

Re-downloaded from sammobile but get a "archive is corrupt" error in WinRAR
Odin MD5 checks out though.
Tried to flash with it anyway using Odin and didn't do a wipe before, after the flash my phone was just the exact same state as before, silly question but is that normal if no wipe is done before the flash?

Flash a firmware without wiping will "upgrade" the existing installation. You'll see the android is upgrading animation. After that, everything should be like how it was before.
In your case, a clean flash is highly recommended.

Yeah, that's my problem too. However, it's not problem anymore because I just hack some code in IM application and now it works!!!
The full instructions is here. Enjoy!
http://www.droidsans.com/content/MSN-with-non-T-Mobile-G1
Could you please create some kind of custom IM.apk so that users without root access could install it over the default one? If that is possible, of course.
work fine....
Tried this on RC8 uk and it didn't work.
When I tap on IM app it starts to open then closes straight away. Have restored back to previous.
Anyone know how to get this working?
Thanks
Tested and worked fine on JF mod30 v1.3.
Does this stop the app from using text for IM all together? I noticed that Yahoo! uses the texts. I am on an AT&T data only plan: texts cost me $0.20 a piece and would like to avoid this.
[edit] I may be wrong; I assumed it was using text because while connected to wifi, it would switch to edge to send and receive IM's, but my online account shows I haven't used any texts yet ... will be watching the bill closely for a few days.
RC33 update?
I never was able to determine how the odex hack worked on RC30. Ever since updating to JFv1.41-RC33, I have not had any luck getting IM to work. My AT&T sim gives me the above errors. RC33 already has an IM.odex, which if I copy this file over sends my phone through bootloops. Removing the either odex breaks the app altogether. Meebo flat out sucks and I will not consider using it barring some major usability updates. Is there any doc how this hack works? Or plans to make an RC33 IM.[apk|odex]?
Oh, and BUMP!!
Worth noting that, at least for me (on JF1.41 RC33) you only have to sign in over Wifi. If you do that, and then move out of range, it seems to stay online and I've sent and received messages successfully over 3G. Not terribly reliable of course. If you reboot, for example, or if you have no data connection at all for a while and it gives up, you need to find a hotspot again.
This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times.
This limit is reached.
To download this file, the uploader either needs to transfer this file into his/her Collector's Account, or upload the file again. The file can later be moved to a Collector's Account. The uploader just needs to click the delete link of the file to get further information.
when trying to download the file.
I hate these file sharing sites!
is JF using this in his updates?
Hmm.. Any way of making this work with Dutch T-mobile? I get the same error wheb I try to log in. Flashed JF RC33 to try this and says file doesn't exist when I do: "# rm /data/dalvik-cache/[email protected]@IM.*"
Went to the next line anyway: "cat /sdcard/IM.odex > /system/app/IM.odex"
and on reboot it didn't get past the glowing android sign..
I'm a noob so I just follow instructions..
Have to use Meebo again now..
Any way to get this working on the new Hero build? Or on any new build saying that?
Does anyone know what the problem is?

Funny that you should mention it.....
I received an SMS with the word NULL in it. I replied to it, but the delivery failed.
Everything else still works fine.
Sorry, but good luck.

Obviously you've got the protected bootloaders, hence you can't downgrade. I've actually seen this error while customizing, and I think you may be able to just select a different locale, then switch back to your normal locale and it may straighten out. if not, then JMF is a fail.
my JMF no problem
Hi, my JMF euro, firmware from samfirmware ( boot protected) no problem ! + speed very good
Hi @All,
I heard bout problems with JMF, I actually have Rotohammers v4, which is the best till now, so what is the positive or negative difference to it?
Thx, jammysunny
I also get the same issue after flashed to JMF, it is the case when using samsung keyboard. If u use swype, the text have no mistake. I also installed cybegon chinese input and no mistake there.
I think the cause it due to Locale and text setting as I set to chinese (taiwan) before I flash to JMF.
I can still flash back to JJ3 , KA1, KM2 whatever I want, (I had deleted all boot and Sbl file in the rom package before I flashed, THANKS to Chainfire and Rotohammer ). The check.bat by Chainfire is correct at this stage.
But I got another issue with DXKM2 and JMF, I flashed to this rom from
ZHKA1 and have no accelerometer sensor & magnetic sensor response.
I think maybe driver problem as they work in jj3 and zhka1.
Could anyone give some advice? Thanks a lot..

It happened to me, the solution is to flash the file ALL to pda, CSC in csc and MODEM in phone also the pit attached.
You just have to reboot to set the languages of the handheld and keyboards and everything will work.
sorry my english ...
same here. It happened after the uro tab firmware. I flashed to jmf and there you. SO i actually had to flash it selcting Phone, pda, csc to resolve the issue.

if youre not rooted, youre unlikely hacked. If you have the fear that you have been, factory reset from within the OS, remove any FRP lock, boot to recovery, factory reset in there literally 3 times. The 3 times part isnt because of your situation, its a constant across all galaxy devices to wipe more than once because phone weirdness does occur, reflash tour firmware from sammobile.com/firmwares with the regular CSC, not the HOME_CSC, reboot, set your phone up and any chance of it being hacked are gone.
Thank You
Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer, i cannot get into recovery mode either, since the Oreo 8.0.0 update my phone screen flashs when i get a call and going into recovery mode i release power when samsung shows then the android man comes for a split second then the flashing screen starts and the screen is totally covered with small vertical coloured lines, i found out when i went to wipe the cache partition but couldn't cos of the flashing and coloured screen, this all happened after the ota Oreo update, the flashing was constant at first i couldn't use the phone but now it's just with calls out or in and when the call ends it stops after about 10 seconds, that's why i haven't rooted which i would like to do as the Google and Samsung bloat is ridiculous, we shiuld be given the option, if we want them we can download them but not be forced to have them, but i'm afraid to root to remove them due to the flashing screen, but i think there are internal settings to reset it Thank you for your help
Hello all,
I am not a professional but still ambitious and would like to solve the existing problem
Since my English is not perfect, I use a translator, sorry if some written is not understandable.
Coming to my problem.
I bought 2 years ago from Aliexpress from a reputable seller an Android. 8227L YT9213A
From the beginning, the device was very slow or lost the GPS data.
original firmware was YT9213A_00009_V001_20200408

before the failed firmware update
As a result, the seller sent me a firmware "xyauto_ui1_9213A_full_8227L_demo-ota-20200517". I copied it to a USB stick (rar file not unzipped) and successfully performed an update via the radio menu "Android Update".
Over time, however, I noticed that the navigation "google maps " always crashed. also lost the gps data.
about the playstore to update the apps brought no success. the problem was in my opinion on the android system,
it was still slow and not fun at all.
I have now contacted the seller again and informed him about the problem.
he sent me a new firmware "gongban_YT9213A_ui1-hw-ota-v6.5.zip".
after some research i found the XY Auto firmware download page.
XYAUTO
file manager
file.xygala.com
there I found exactly the same firmware what the seller sent me.
I copied the firmware zip file to a USB stick and tried again to update the firmware via the radio menu "Android Update".
Unfortunately, an error occurred, I have repeated the process several times. tried different USB sticks but it always came to the same error.
I think that this firmware what the seller is not compatible with my device at all.
I have on the http://file.xygala.com site then a previous firmware and that is
"xyauto_ui1_9213A_full_8227L_demo-ota-20200523.zip" downloaded and copied the USB stick and again through the device menu" Android update" performed.
This time I noticed that it did not come to an update abort. it came the message 1 of 53 apps are updated, but at "23 of 53" it froze and the system was rebooted, then the installation continued "1 of 9 apps" are updated. Finally the message came, "Update complete".
then the system was rebooted but the startup screen froze, the touch did not work. the image distorted and after a few seconds the system was rebooted again. this phenomenon repeated itself again and again. so to say "boot loop effect"?
then i started to research on youtube saw some videos how the firmware was updated with flashtool. i wanted to copy it. I downloaded the "Scatter-loading file" from the firmware folder the seller sent me "gongban_YT9213A_ui1-hw-ota-v6.5.zip" ( but I downloaded the same firmware for PC update from the http://file.xygala.com site
downloaded) and loaded and thus tried to flash. the " preloader " in the first row was not activated. the hook was missing. manually I could not click either.
Then I tried to load the "scatter-loading file" from the previous firmware "xyauto_ui1_9213A_full_8227L_demo-ota-20200523" and flashed " Format All+ Download" it started to load at the bottom of the bar but then came an error message.
So now I think I have made things worse.
Now the screen stays completely black. Android loading process I do not see. I see short flickering but it remains black
The seller only answers when he feels like it and doesn't really help me.
It would be a shame to throw it away. I don't think it's a hardware problem.
Can anyone really help me from afar and give me a tip.
I would follow any instructions and try to revive the device.
thanks in advance and hope someone will help me.
Do you have a 'Preloader' file?
Dont do formatting without 'preloader' file.
You can only do a downloading without this file. I dont know why flashtool even let you do this step without all files included....
Im using this version: sp-flash-tool-v5-2112
Then get the 'preloader file and use with package 'xyauto_ui1_9213A_full_8227L_demo-ota-20200523' you've got. Do format wit all files included/selected.
hello guys i have this head unit and i really want to change the firmware .interface ugly and aux deosnt work no sound equilizer ....

hello, i have a chinese car radio ff-5000 8227L, i installed avg anti-virus, then i activated the screen lock via this antivirus, please how can i deactivate the screen lock ? THANKS
I have cheap radio in my car, see picture.
I had small issues and I decided to upload new firmware to it.
I tried to do it from USB, but after that radio starts, android logo appears, then status bar for 1-2 seconds and restart. And over and over...
Then I tried to upload firmware via SP Flash Tool.
Laptop was connected to radio, scatter file choosen, Download mode. Progress bar went to the end, OK mark was shown but... radio doesn't work at all, screen is black, no response.
Now radio is not visible by SP Flash Tool.
Is any chance to bring radio to life?

Perhaps someone could help if you provided the exact name of the device model and a link to the file you downloaded for flashing.

I assume that the photo on the left is correct, because CPU-Z misidentifies the model of the model YT9216B_00002_V004.
There are a huge number of directories with device variants on the download page, so it is impossible to choose the right file without knowing exactly what it is for a particular device.
Has anyone advised you exactly this file?
Did you contact [email protected] ?
This file worked some time ago (uploaded through actualisationbutton in settings menu).
But I tried to flash radio with SPFlashTool, and now unit is bricked. Thanks a lot for e-mail address, I will write to them.
