guys how to root dec update, old twrp bootlooping and latest boots directly to system, any solution?
You can still boot the TWRP recovery image from @mohancm (Thread)
The images on twrp.me (3.1x, 3.2x) doesn't work. I hope they will fix this very soon!

I was systemless-rooted, with xposed installed on 6.0.1 with the December security patch.
I went ahead and tried to flash the February Security patch through Fastboot (Followed the steps in order to not get my data wiped)
Tried to boot, and was told encryption failed, so I basically had to wipe my phone completely.
Now I have a problem. Since I am on the latest build number (mmb29q) I don't know which custom boot image it is that I have to use in order to flash a custom recovery and root my phone again.
If you jst flash recovery via fastboot then flash latest supersu and you'll be good. 2.67. When twrp asks to root select no and reboot and you will be good or you could use a custom kernel and su or I came across this

I'm not sure what the problem is here, you don't need a custom boot.img to install TWRP, just flash it. You don't need a custom boot.img for root either, systemless SuperSU patches the boot.img for you. It's all in my guide:

Basically I currently Have TWRP and MAGISK in the first version of the stock oreo rom now i have no idea how to update via ota because i have twrp as my recovery right now.
Any thoughts on how i could remove twrp and go back to stock recovery... long story short i needed twrp before because i was stuck in a boot loop and had to flash magisk via twrp to fix the loop. Thanks in advance.

It provides link to all roms (stable, beta & incremental) & Mi flash tool. Download the latest platform tools zip for windows & update your .net framework. You should also make sure you've installed your adb & fastboot drivers correctly.
Can anybody help me to root this latest version? Is there any special TWRP to boot and then flash latest Magisk?
Use last cosmicdan twrp and last magisk. Easy.
Cheers
I also cannot root my phone after jan updates. after flashing magisk and reboot, there's a black screen in the middle of bootscreen and it restarts the bootscreen and my phone doesnt get rooted.

When next OTA arrives, you will know why it fails to install There is absolutely no reason to mount system partition to flash Magisk.
Plz can anybody plz tell me how to root or unlock camera 2 api in ma a1 latest pie june2020 update
it's a simple procedure
just unlock bootloader then boot into TWRP then flash recovery flasher zip and then flash Magisk zip and reboot
I've flashed all stock firmwares and get root with this simple procedure but note I've used TWRP 3.3.1-0 from Giovix92 because TWRP 3.2.1 flasher zip didn't work on latest firmware and i used Magisk19.3 its the most stable Magisk version in my opinion i never faced any problem with this version
This is not a question actually I want to share a little bit info about TWRP recovery.
I know the latest firmware 1.0.10.0 firmware doesn't support permanent TWRP and I had same scenario with 1.0.8.0 but i had permanent TWRP by flashing 1.0.8.0 firmware then hotboot TWRP recovery then I had a TWRP backup of March 2019 firmware with permanent TWRP installed I just restore boot.img backup from March TWRP backup and had permanent working TWRP recovery.. I also want to know is there any other way of getting TWRP permanent and also I dumped boot.img and make a flashable zip for having a permanent TWRP recovery
The latest TWRP img was leaving me stuck with a fastboot screen, assumed twrp version was too high EVEN THOUGH EVERYWHERE I was seeing "It is recommended you flash latest twrp" and NOTHING about what TWRP is for what Android version WTF!
So yeah I just got 3.2.3-2 to work, now wondering if I should install latest TWRP zip after flashing the 9.0.17 or after flashing the OOS 11.1.1.1? Can you install the latest TWRP zip while using an earlier TWRP img??
