How to recover deleted files from Samsung Galaxy S5 with broken screen. - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 with a broken (black) screen) and I tried this tool but [email protected] didn't recognize the phone. So USB Debugging Mode must be off... Well I tried to turn it on following this guide. I downloaded G900F firmware (1.5GB) , ADB Automator and Odin.. I created the ADB firmware file (13MB) from the original firmware and I started Odin. I removed the battery of the phone to turn it off and I started it again in Download Mode. Then I connected it the phone to the PC and with Odin I flashed successfully the phone . Then I tried again the first tool but the result was the same.
Now when I connect the phone to the PC, I see it as a Device... it has the same name as before but there are no files inside...
I wanted to recover my contacts but now I lost everything I had on this device...
Could you please advice me what to do ? I really need my contacts back

After a recovery in Download Mode there are no files to recover anymore. Except on sd card, which you could simply insert elsewhere. This is the perfect procedure before sale, but the worst to recover personal data.

I followed a Youtube vid that got another S5 that wasn't broken and plugged the screen from that phone into the board that had the damaged screen. This was all done without having to physically remove the screens from the devices- just temporarily swapped the plugs/sockets with the phones side by side. When all my data was done transferring to my PC, I put things back where they should have been and that was that.

whats happen i try to charge my phone, and the screen doest show any sign of life
it doestn boot it doesnt charge, it cannot opened by me
heeeeeeeeeeeeelllppppp
If Heimdall didn't give you any errors then the flash went through fine. Are you sure that you flashed files that were meant for your particular model of Galaxy Tab?
Given the information you've given about the device not turning on or responding at all, it seems as though you've flashed a bootloader that was not designed for your device. You can try create a custom jig and it may be able to boot your device into download mode using the backup secondary bootloader. If that doesn't work then the only other fix is a JTAG fix which is best performed by Samsung themself.
i put in First Boot Loader
boot.bin
i Put on Secondary Boot Loader
Sbl.bin
any mistakes here? these files are recovered from my Tab with Roto BackUp
any chance to do it in da house and not from Samsung Warranty?

Reediting:
I try with Android SDK and ADB reading this little tutorial
http://mingersoft.com/blog/2010/09/samsung-galaxy-s-why-download-and-recovery-modes-are-missing/
When I plug it into my computer it tries to install a driver for "SEC S5PC110 Test B/D"
any one have a copy of this driver, or can create one for this proposit????
Does the device power on and show anything on the screen? If the Tab won't even turn on then you are bricked but not to worry.. I did the same to mine, and samsung has repaired the device and its on its way home to me today.
i think the better idea is call samsung, wait 2 or 3 weeks.......
but i want know more about some info posted in this thread
perhaps, how and where are the first person whit this Driver, or the first or second with a custom cable jig Compatible with Galaxy Tab and can post where are the steps to do it in da home

[Q] Samsung GT-S5363 - not starting - Need to access Contacts..

Hi there,
After searching for this model, I think this is the closest I can get ;D
A friend of mine dropped her cellphone, and all of a sudden it doesn't start AT all. The only thing I can get going at the moment is the ODIN Mode (Power + Home + Volume Down).
Is there a way to access the phone's memory while the phone is in ODIN mode? or is it totally bricked, the contacts are gone and I can throw it away?
Yes, a backup would have been nice, even giving Google all the contacts would be better than this.. But hey, she's not listening.
Many thanks for your answers, which will hopefully come...
the 5363 is a o2 regional varient of the 5360
you can download stock firmware from sammobile and flash it via odin
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
you may need to split the firmware first if your phone does not support single file flashing
you can use splitfus2 to do this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2615434
you will loose any data that is on your phone
you maybe able to use adb to pull phone contacts but your phone needs to be rooted with usb debugging enabled
if you have a nandroid backup you can also pull the backup with adb or use a sd card reader or another phone and then unpack it
also questions go in the Q & A section NOT general section!!

[Q] Note 3 doesn't start anymore

Dear all,
I have only recently lost my IMEI und tried everything to recover it. As a matter of fact I had made a backup before and tried to restore it and it didn't work. Today, I tried doing that another time and after that I wanted to reboot my phone but after it shut down it just doesn't boot up anymore. It shows nothing, only the black screen. It seems like it doesn't react to anything, I also tried to pull the battery but that also wasn't successful. I also can't get into Download Mode.
Any ideas what I could do?
Charge the battery or try another battery first .
I did both, I charged the battery but it didn't help and I also tried another (fully charged) battery, without success.
try to connect with kies 3
Kies doesn't recognize my phone.
Service centre repair your next step .
I'll let my carrier send it to Samsung and tell them that it crashed after trying to update to Lollipop via Kies, I read that this worked in some cases. If it doesn't I'll have to have it repaired.
What do you guys think about those "USB jigs"? Do you think those could help me with my problem?
YAAAAY!
Thanks to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625332 I was able to unbrick my device and by flashing a new PIT-File and a Stock ROM even my IMEI came back. I think my partition was somehow messed up because after flashing the PIT-File it began to work properly, but I flashed the Stock ROM to have a "clean" system again and installed Cyanogenmod afterwards with success.
So how does this fix work if the phone is unable to connect or power on ..
OP yes try the usb recovery jig to see if it boots to download mode .
Well, it did help. After I had put the Image on my SDcard and removed my SIM card I was able to boot my phone, this was the main issue. The rest was child's play, I flashed the PIT-file and a stock ROM and everything was working fine again.
flash new PIT file
hi you got to flash a new pit flie. maybe something damaged your phone boot. look in here

I accidentally deleted my OS, how would I fix it?

Hey, I'm on an S5 and I flashed (to upgrade my phone) my system and forgot to put Android back on my SD (to reinstall it) I then put it on and tried to restart because safestrap wasn't refreshing my files on my SD and essentially screwed up my phone. When I turn it on it just shows the booting screen and doesn't let me go anywhere else. When I try to go into download mode it doesn't let me, please help! (I already went to the Verizon store, they said they couldn't help)
I would first get out a SD card adapter to pc then put in my computer when it recognizes it
I would download official android lollipop such as bok3 from sammobile and then place it on said SD card
then eject SD and place it back in my phone
First try turning off your phone and boot into download mode you may have to try at least 5-10 times if it is only booting into recovery mode
if you have a custom recovery still boot into it either TWRP or safestrap etc then install the firmware
connect phone to computer and install s5 verizon drivers from Samsung website this might fix part of your issue
You could boot your phone into maintenance mode when your phone gets stuck during boot push volume down choose from the list to do a factory reset and you could try safe mode also
If no download mode connect to computer via USB and install verizon software assistant on your pc and try to do repair phone

Trying to get CF-Auto-Root working on Core Prime SM-G360G

Hi guys. So I managed to locate what looks like the only mod out there for a G360G. A CF-Auto-Root image!
I downloaded the root mod and used Odin to successfully flash the images to my phone. I pulled the USB cable out and let it be. It vibrated a few times and I heard the message sound a while later. I plugged it into the computer and confirmed it was all working.
I then used AirDroid to examine the internal file system. I searched for SuperSU but I saw no sign of it. Is it in a protected area where I can't see? I also tried to AirMirror and it said it wasn't rooted.
Since my screen is blank and unresponsive I can't see anything on screen. So although the system works I don't know if any messages popped up telling me it detected a mod and erased it.
Are there any other steps that should be followed after the flash? Software to install before or after? I didn't see anything that said recovery mode needs to be booted or the phone needs turning off after for this particular model.
