Hello All,
I'm from the GrandPrime Forums. Can any of you build a MarshMallow Touchwiz Kernel for our device. Unfortunately, our latest official update had been Lollipop. I've already Build the ROM zip and named it "Galaxy J5 Hybrid"! But i have no progress on building the Kernel. Please, would anyone build the kernel for me?

Hoping you would help me... to build the MM kernel for my Galaxy Grand Prime.
I bought J5 (2015) yesterday and same as you i really need custom kernel plus i read somewhere about enabling OTG support. Maybe someday some kind developers would build custom kernel especially j500G that always fallen behind.

I mislead you i guess so. Im requesting MM kernel build for GP and not J5. :/

Hey will it be possible to port Android Nougat to our Tab 4 10.1?
i too am wondering this. Hopefully sub77 can help us out. He's been carrying us on his back for 1+ years now. We all owe him a beer =)
I doubt this..... well maybe 10.1 but 7.0 wifi only - no change
I think it will be possible because if the devs managed to build 6.0.1 then it is probably possible to build Nougat as well,I think already some Snapdragon 400 devices got Nougat already so I don't know why it wouldn't be possible to port to the Tab 4

There is no cm 13 rom.They can hardly even boot cm 11

I am new to this forum, so I introduce myself a bit:
I am the owner of a Samsung Galaxy J5 (2015) J500F, bought in India.
running Android 6.0.1 from last official update.
I am a long time linux developer, (more than 20 years), but I have not a lot of experience on android dev,
I have already compiled some kernels for my old wiko phone, and test them successfully...
On my Galaxy J5, I already installed TWRP for 6.0.1, and supersu via TWRP to root it..
my Goal , is to port some of Nethunter kernel patches,
mainly android usb hid keyboard patch ( github.com/pelya/android-keyboard-gadget )
and wifi injection patches also.. this is the basic need for a Nehunter port.. with some kernel .config mods also..
There is already a Galaxy A5 port in Nethunter Github, and it should not be too hard to port nethunter to Galaxy J5 I Think..

From which source code do I have to start to compile a stock kernel for android 6.0.1 for Galaxy J5 (J500F) ?

and other ones laying around.. (MSM8916 samsung released ?? )
so from which kernel source code do I have to start, to build an android 6.0.1 stock kernel for a J500F ????
I want to start from an unmodified kernel, then add each patch one by one, test them, to validate each steps...

Yeah but it's buggy and can't be used yet. I think A510 AOSP is about the same, and therefore not released yet.

I've been searching for a long time for a ROM that's not a customization of the Samsung "touchwizzy" ROMs.
in particular AOSP, Lineage, RR, .. etc
I couldn't find any of them anywhere
I even tried to learn how to port ROMs and port Lineage 14.1 to my device but I couldn't find The device tree and vendor.
Please help

That's the threads for all the j5 PRIME Roms not j5
Edit: oh sorry there are no custom Roms for j5 yet just tw based ones. What type of CPU is in that device? I'm sure if lineage is ported to a device of the same chipset then a port would be possible

Same as galaxy j3 2017. Try going to the j3 forum and pm one of the devs there. Seeing as it is the same SoC it shouldn't be a big deal
