Because this device doesn't have a Broadcom based WiFi chipset, there no Broadcom Firmware file ... Nexmon will never work.

instal
please tell me how to install it
thanks
when you have downloaded it.
transfer it on your phone....
Then with your mx4 file explorer, choose the file. execute it...
After it's automatic....
The file name must be update.zip. if it's not the case, rename it before....
Enjoy
is it possbile to install A version of firmware?
4.2.6A for instance?
You can install A version on your mx4. The différence between international version is some chinese apps. You can uninstall them after installing a A version.
Remember that if you pass on beta version...it's test version. They're fully functionnal, but there is still some bugs.
4.2.6a version for mx4 is a beta version....no?
I have a mx4 pro. So i can't give you advice about 4.2.6a for mx4.

The latest version is a beta 4.2.8.2A, hosted here:
http://goo.gl/pZFB8Y
Theres at least three betas out at the moment, not sure which that one is, but i have 4.2.8.2A B3.
Keep in mind you can only update to these builds if your current firmware version does not end in "i". The i phones can only flash "i" firmware, all other versions - A, U, C and Y can flash any firmware but i.

I don know, I am really used to the Flyme central button controls, so I haven't use any softkeys or anything like that.
Maybe in the Xposed module "FlymeTools" you will find an option you want. The module is very complete and has a lot of options. You can download the last version here: https://mega.co.nz/#!XgBXlYDb!jLiw-6csb-EkeMvWWj7ABJ0w4rpOOV-gBT43NdMgFGE

Can someone try porting Kali Linux into Galaxy J5?

Hi guys, recently I was searching around to install Kali linux on my Galaxy J5 SM-J500F using Linux deploy, and unfortunately I couldn't due to shortage of storage, I used 16GB USB in OTG and tried to install in it but failed to do so. Then I searched around if Kali linux rom aka NetHunter for android could be ported to other devices as it is open source and found yes as it can be. Offensive Security has also given a guide on how to import it to new devices.
here is link: https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter/wiki#70-porting-nethunter-to-new-devices
I tried doing it myself and I couldn't understand somethings as It needs developing skills. I will be glad if any developer give it a try and port it to J5 SM-J500F or maybe to more variants. Thanks.
Has anyone tried it??
i am in need of Nenthunter for my Galaxy j5 2016 sm-j510GN if someone knows how to install please help!!!

I'm currently trying to port Android Open Pwn project but struggling too, If anyone could help of appreciate it.
Hello ,
I'm this thread for a while, I wanted to know if someone had managed to carry kali nethunter on samsnsung j5 2016 (sm-j510fn),
Especially the kernel adapted to samsung j5,
I have already installed the nethunter-generic-armhf-full + kernel-generic-armhf, everything seems to work except to switch to monitor mode with usb dongle Panda PAU05 & Tp-link Tl-wn722n, lsusb returns the name of the keys but that's all.
It is impossible later to mount the keys in monitor mode, it seems that the generic kernel is not optimized for everything to work
I tried to build the Kernel myself but I have not enough level for this type of manipulation for the moment on android
Would it be possible to build a nethunter for samsung j5 2016 (SM-j510fn)
Thanks in advance to all the developer
10000000% easy but it's 2 zip files that have to be flash simultaneously from the kali site and has to be done via twrp. I would make a back up and keep trying as it was a long time ago on the s7 I did it so without me trying over and over I shal leave it to you
I tried 1 zip over and over but yeah different ones so I flash one and hit loop loads of times and one day just tried another so an over lap when it was in a loop and bang it was done but changes wallpaper so you'll know when you have done it correct.
If you fail loads him me with a text as I'm busy so don't get on so often any more and I'll hunt it down foe you as it a hobby for me

Anyone need help please text. Android is my thing. Well not as good as most but I have been playing around for years so probably can help
IPhone which I don't know if this forum supports I can help a little. First advice about iphone!!!!! Sell it get an android lol
I would be very happy to have it ported to j5 prime also, SM-G570M

For full monitor mode support you need a device with an very specific kernel installed in combination with a supported chipset ( very few devices have those) and firmware. Your device does not meet the requirements to use monitor mode

Stock Recovery and possibly Kernel for XT1621 needed

Hello! So, I'm going to update from MM to N. I have TWRP and ElementalX installed and I wondered if any of you have the flashable zips or img's of the stock Marshmallow 6.0.1 for the XT1621 or another working ver.
I know I could download the firmware and just flash the both of them but my internet is not capable of downloading large files. I want to say that I have backed up the "Boot" partition with TWRP before flashing ElementalX but I don't know if this could help. I'm sorry if these files where to be found in this forum since I can't find them.
Thank you in advance! I would love if you could help me!
EDIT: I couldn't update to Nougat officially. As I said, I used Xposed, and some other apps that modify the System Partition. I found a Lineage OS ROM that had everything I wanted, in Nougat. It's working perfectly now! The battery life is so much better! If you want a link, PM me. I'll be pleased!

Dumb Question
Hello, I am new to XDA, and I've been looking all over the internet for the answer to the following question: Is the Moto G4 XT1621 same or similiar to other models on XDA? i.e, I have a Moto G4 XT1621 but all I see is ROMs for XT1641 or higher, even if they are the same. Can't even find root for this phone. I know the phone code is same (ATHENE) but I don't want to jump ahead and try and so something when I may not have the community's support for rooting, custom ROMs etc..
Can someone just help me by letting me know if flashing TWRP for Athene would work on XT1621 (RetLA, DualSIM) as it would on an XT164x etc. Thanks.
PS: if on the wrong thread please direct me to the correct one, there's not much info on the main G4 Menu...

It will work just fine, the process for flashing TWRP is the same for all xt16xx models.
After flashing TWRP you can flash a custom kernel like ex kernel and root your phone using any method for it.

[BUMP] Can anyone please recommend a FM radio tuner apk that they use else could anyone please upload the apk from the OPEN EU LG-H870 11G ROM?
Thanks a lot!
Hey,
Its not that easy, maybe someone could help me to build this together,
I found so far in /system :
A library for fm services, .. /lib,lib64
Apk for fm services
Apk fm radio...
Dont know exactly in wich way the kernel is involved
All apks and librarys have to be deodexed... Which means that i have to complete pull the whole system deodexing and then make some trys,
I think this app could be installed when the lg framework is some kind of present
Working on stock rom... : Nextradio... In germany i have to download the app via browser as apk
Hi
Thanks @MartinIrrelevant
Would anyone with an H870 with working FM radio mind posting their build.prop from /system please?
Let me explain: I now have a H930DS / lineage 16 - although LG states it comes with FM radio, it would not work on mine and other people's phone; @xda_nz provided me with the solution:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79977031&postcount=1457
basically, someone compared the build.prop of an H930 with working radio with the build.prop of an H930 without working radio and found out that the difference was a line:
HTML:
vendor.bluetooth.soc=cherokee
Adding the line to the non working radio build.prop solved the issue
so maybe it is worth doing the same comparison on an H870 so that I could get FM radio working on the H870 I passed down to my son.
Thanks in advance.

Build.prop is not a valid file to be uploaded, so I have posted it as build.prop.text.
Hey,
To get FM radio working on Lineage is not easy. The entire rom + kernel needs to be rebuilt with the proper driver for FM to work.
Currently, Lineage (on these LG phones) doesn't use a driver which supports FM radio. So any app or whatever will not have anything to communicate with. It's the same as if the hardware wasn't even there.

@xda_nz: Thanks! So you have an H870 Lineage too, but yours has FM radio working?
@askermk2000: well, when i added the entry in the build.prop of Lineage 16 for my H930DS, that did the trick - no kernel recompiling whatsoever!
[EDIT] @xda_nz: I think you posted the build.prop for the H930DS, without radio enabled:
Code:
ro.product.device=joan

@askermk2000: I did not mean to be offensive in any way - sorry if you felt I was not considering your reply, sorry also as I did not know who you are; I just found out you worked on an H870 kernel so indeed I would assume you known what you are talking about when it comes to kernels and I understand what you said about recompiling a kernel to include the required module.
What I was just saying is something i could see for myself as a fact: in the Lineage 16 that is currently installed on my H930DS, FM radio was not working:
the FM radio app provided in the Lineage 16 would not work without a headphone (requirement for all such apps) but when I plugged my headphones, i got
"FM operation failed"
Click to collapse
the stock LG FM radio would just fail on launch
By following @xda_nz instructions, FM radio now plays, with headphones attached of course.
From this, I would deduct the kernel in the Lineage 16 for the H930DS does includes the FM module, unlike the kernel of the current Lineage 16 for H870 and merely adding the line to the build.prop won't do.

Yes, you could say that.
When I wrote "on these LG phones" above, I meant (since this is the G6 forum) these: G5/G6/V20 - since all these are based on msm8996 platform and shares the same Lineage source.
I guess it was construed as meaning all LG phones on LOS.
and I understand what you said about recompiling a kernel to include the required module.

It's a bit more complicated than that. Because there is no separate module one can simply enable and compile in. This need an entirely different driver than what is used now, a driver which also controls
bluetooth and gps, in addition to fm radio. It also interfaces with the wifi driver. And there are changes needed in android system, to tell it how to use this driver, which currently there seems to be no standard
way of doing. At least none that anyone has successfully implemented (for this specific platform).
I've been thinking of looking into this as part of my new LOS kernel effort. I need to compile the rom myself with appropriate changes to test it out, though I'm totally new to Rom stuff so it will take a while
to get into.
