Hi, I've been trying to solve a problem for over 2 weeks and would really appreciate some help if possible.
To make a long story short I purchased an unlocked verizon S7 and want to use it on my network (Public Mobile, owned by Telus in Canada). Right now it connects to the network and can make phone calls and SMS, but isn't working with data and MMS (FYI I have tried every conceivable recommended APN setting).
I successfully rooted it using this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...edge-g935t-t3567502/post71287574#post71287574
However, because verizon removed dialpad code access I am unable to use the appropriate dialpad code to change the CSC. I was also unable to find the function using various root explorer and hidden menu applications. Doing a factory reset with the SIM card inserted didn't help either.
FYI these threads lead me to believe that changing the CSC may solve my problem:

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Discussions/No-LTE/td-p/55678
Anyone have an idea of how the csc could be changed?
I am also interested in converting my G930V to have the same bands as the G930T..will changing csc fix this?

I went through the flashing okay. And I was even able to unlock and do everything else including getting a code from MS. But when I get to the step that says run connection set up, it tells me that my carrier is not in the database and then tells me to manually set up my APN.
I know I did everything else okay, but I know I can't edit my HD2 registry settings because of this. And my market and xbox features don't work because of this issue. Please, if anyone has had this experience, or knows why I'm getting a "carrier not in database" when I run HTC Connection set-up. I would greatly appreciate it. I hope I'm not the only one having this issue.
Same problem here. Whats your carrier?
I already tried to add the keys manually using a registry editor. However it didn't work and the phone has locked itself again. Now I cannot even unlock it anymore using chevron (it says no connection) so I cannot launch any registry editor or try something else. Probably I have to flush it again. However what I still really need is a solution to this problem with the carrier.
I have solved the problem. My carrier is a small carrier from austria (bob). It seems that the HTC tool simply doesn't have any data for this carrier (the tool in win mobile 6.5 has known bob...). I used another sim from another austrian carrier (a1), whith this i was able to run the tool and add the registry data!
The Connection Setup didn't work for me too. Just ask your provider for the APN (Access Point Name) the Username and the Password and type it in Settings-network- add APN. Thats all.
For A1 /bob its:
APN: A1.net
User: [email protected]
Password: ppp
Yes, but entering the APN has not been the problem. I wanted to use the Connection Setup to add registry keys according to the WP7 guide. However, I already have solved this by using another sim of another carrier.
@oscar2010 did this work for u too?
Hello, I have a problem with the mms with my operator vodafone Italy, I've tried a lot of thing, I have debranded the lg (becouse it was on AT&T), and I did the manual configuration with MFG, first disabling ADC, then serching manually for xml file in ''set Network Profile'', but nothing seems to work.
when I tap on _Prov_vdf_IT_222_10_eng.xml I receive this answer
''FAILED
setting was failed (access denied or invalid argument)''
I have no more idea how to enable mms.. i've tried alone but nothing work.. i need help^^
thanks u and sry for my english, i'm a really ignorant italian^^
hey same problem here...i'm italian too and can't figure it out how to make mms work with tim italy...get your same error message "failed"...that worries me a lot =( what about trying to contact lg usa customer support? perhaps thay have some tricks or special codes to enable these xml...
Do u speak about the code to unlock the phone? I've brought that to activate the phone for the first time with european carrier, but it don't work.
If u try with the postemobile xml it works.. it would be a problem with the vodafone italy xml.
Beggy have u try with the LG configurator for TIM? The app seems to support it
You can change this settings from the registry using the MFG app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16363034&postcount=3
That worked for me... I also have an AT&T phone but I'm in Mexico so I'm not 100% sure it will work for yours
if you need more help or instructions on how to get to the registry or something else just ask =)
i've already tried with the network configuration app, but it doesn't work...i would try to hard reset the phone and see what happens...because i spoke with TIM customer care and they said that i have to reset the phone, and the first time i will boot the phone will automatically get the right settings for mms...it's sim based as they say, if the first time the phone was booted with an at&t sim, phone would set at&t settings...so if i reset it and boot with my tim sim, it should configure tim settings...dunno but is worth a try
I've tried that, but always the same problem. In addition I can't install the xap, it requires an HTC Phone
Update heres a video showing the issue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4d_8BhEsr8
When using my Amaysim branded sim card on stock OS on my L3 it will show up correctly as Amaysim as my carrier.
but when I use a custom rom, any custom rom I've tried it will show up as Yes Optus which is the reseller/owner of the physical cellular network.
For some reason even though it doesn't show as Amaysim I can still send receive phone calls and text, but I can't add APN settings as it will not save and they're are no Default apn settings either.
This same sim card will work with proper settings and carrier on the same phone in Stock Os. This same phone data will work with custom roms if I use a different sim such as a Telstra one. Apns can be changed and there are defaults when I use the telstra sim card.
very unusual problem on this phone.
thanks for taking some time to read this problem any ideas?
I recently bought a used AT&T Galaxy S4 i337 that came with 4.4.2 and NC1. I have a Net10 SIM in it and everything works save for MMS messaging. I created a new APN with the correct Net10 settings and selected it but the AT&T APN is greyed-out cannot be removed and appears to still be in use in regards to MMS (there's a little box that says "Turn APN on/off" that can't be unchecked).
I've been scouring this site for the past few days an cannot find a solution for just deleting a "locked" APN from this phone. I was hoping to find an easy solution but everything points to downgrading to get root and then manually deleting of editing the offending APN? Need to get this working regardless so it doesn't matter how difficult this will be.
Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Whats up guys. I have a rooted ATT H910 running the latest WETA rom (US996) on it. I bought a SIM in Japan and am trying to utilize it but am having issues. I've searched through the forums and elsewhere online but most of the hidden menu settings either don't work for me or are inaccessible. Inputting codes such as ##DATA# do not even work for me.
When my ATT SIM is used, I can access the APN settings. Adding a new APN works but when I swap the SIM it is no longer there. The SIM I am trying to use is COMST. Is the inability to modify the APN with the COMST SIM related to the rom I am using? And if so, can anyone recommend where I can edit the APN manually through a file? Thanks in advance!
Also, I tried using Offline SIM APN Database but it says no SIM detected. I am showing 2 to 3 bars of reception so I know the SIM is inserted and working.

Anyone?
@reigndropz
Go to PS and download shortcut master
Look on the 3 dots on your right top
Click search
Type apn
Look for unlock apn
And click launch this will display the menu and click unlock apn
Back again
Look for apn settings and launch and edit what you looking for and look on the 3 dots on your right top and save and reboot

Thanks so much for replying. I never noticed the unlock apn setting. I did as you instructed but after a reboot, nothing stuck still. I have 3 bars as well so I know it recognizes the SIM at least.
