Thanks so much for this. Does this mean we could downgrade from Oreo beta bootloader 2 if needed?

You can not downgrade bootloader versions. The file posted in the OP is BL1.

Unfortunately, you can't downgrade yet. This file is still on bootloader version 1.

I've been following the beta thread but there's so much info and links in there I'm a little confused, so I assume this is oreo, if so which beta release is it? I was alos wondering if there is any alternative download, my mega is maxed out at the moment. I have an AFH account if you want me to post up a mirror but thats totally your call.

This file does not contain oreo. This is just the original stock files for att running 7.0 nougat, with October 1st security patch.

This is ATT branded, Is there unbranded (XAA) download of AQJC ?

Unfortunately, there isn't a unbranded firmware of AQJC. The latest is AQK2.
You can get more information or download it here :

That carrier switching guide I sent you earlier sets the omc to XAA which removes the bloatware

MHA-L29BC636B183 firmware available?

For those of us using the MHA-L29C636 version, I noticed here that a new firmware has been released in the last few days: MHA-L29BC636B183
Firmware Finder has not picked this up yet, but is it because it is listed as for MHA-L29BC636 whereas all of the previous firmware for this model is listed for MHA-L29C636 without the extra 'B'??
Does anyone know what/if there is a difference and should it be available/possible to load on our phones?

Yes, but it is not the firmware MHA-L29BC636B183 as mentioned in post 1? It does not contain the "mysterious" letter B.

Same firmware China " letter D back B213D "
You can flash it just fine.
I don't know what the B is for, but if you download the update and extract it, there would be a file containing the version of the update and it doesn't have the extra B in it. It just listened "MHA-L29C636B183". And when you flash it, there will be no extra B.
So yeah you can flash it just fine.
I am extract file "update_full_MHA-L29_hw_spcseas.zip". It version of update "ro.confg.hw_userdataversion=MHA-L29C636B183_DATA_MHA-L29_hw_spcseas"

Did anyone try this? it really made the performance of CPU intensive apps run like crap, Tekken runs like **** and it lags on chrome and Apus browser, like a real lag.
Can anyone confirm it?
Any reason why Firmware Finder hasn't picked up this update yet?
This is reason.

Because the naming of the file is a little different so FF doesn't detect it being compatible with your phone. There's an extra B in the naming.
Tap on the three lines on top left corner in FF and click on " Tap to change your model" and type
MHA-L29BC636
Then it'll show up.
Hipe it helps.

Debranding S8

Hi guys, I'm out of USA.
After many failed attempts still can not debrand my AT&T SM-G950U.
Through ODIN I upgraded successfully to latest G950USQS1AQF7_USC
But can not find any unlocked firmware (XAA) to my S8, only for S8+.
Any idea where to find it?
Thanks.

Not searching very hard then. Update.com and search firmwares for G950U1. You'll see the latest XAA listed.
Works great (Minus volte and wifi calling), I've been running it myself
Thanks joe3681 for you answer.
Firmware downloaded from sammobile (G950U1UEU1AQE3_G950U1OYM1AQE3_XAA)
But i got the following error when try to install it: FAIL! Model dismatch fail
Sounds like it's not correct fw then.

This is what I used and it worked perfect. I also always use the modded Odin and remove .md5 off the end of everything once I extract it all.
Ok!!
The modded odin works!!
Debranded!!
Thanks a lot joe!

Hi Guys, I'm in the same case as the OP, and I have always updated via Odin using Sammobile's firmware, which only includes the AP file. I already downloaded the modded Odin and firmware from joe's post, but it includes a lot more files.
Should I load all the files to Odin? or just flashing the AP file would be OK? Thank you very much in advance!

From what it looks they are having issues between the to bootloader's. Your answer may come in the 892 partcyborg root thread.

It's only for carrier S8's. They have no firmware for unlocked models.
You can flash QK5 through Odin and do it that way if you're on a US carrier and want bloat though.

I just updated my phone from that site and it works perfectly thru stocked recovery. They are all OTA updates so it will not wipe your phone. Only thing is when flashing from nougat to oreo change your themes back to pure stock or you will get system ui error, and have to factory reset

Can I install this ROM?

So I found this on the XDA home page. It says SM-935A is required (I have SM-935U) BUT I thought that model number mostly applies to which carrier you're using...So if I flash the lates AT&T version via Odin can I then update to this Oreo build? Here's the article:

But in case I change my mind, you extract the update.zip and apply update from sdcard, right?

Help me identify the correct FW to flash/update to Pie 9.0

I have an Sprint Samsung S8. I want to update to Android Pie 9. Its currently on Android 8.0.0 - R16NW.G950USQU5CSA4. And I want to flash with Odin to any compatible Android Pie FW. I am personally not looking to unlock or anything. The confusing part is that when I research the FW version (G950USQU5CSA4) it comes as a Verizon FW. So I am not sure if is safe to flash any of the Pie FW available on sammobile for Sprint.
It is safe to flash for example to one like G950USQU5DSD3 that appears in Sammobile and is for Sprint?
