Google syncs only 250 contacts - ZTE Axon 7 Mini Questions & Answers

Hello everyone,
Here is something weird to me. Got this ZTE Axon 7 mini just the other day. It was running Android 6, so I tried to sync all my 360 google contacts, and each time it only syncs up to 250 contacts. I removed the google account, tried again a few times but still the same issue. I have tried a different contacts application, bu it didn't help.
So I did the update to Android 7, and same issue, it would only sync up to 250 contacts. Please help.
Forgot to mention, the contacts are clearly labeled as belonging to that gmail address. Also, inside the phone I can create more contacts that would belong to the google account. Seems to be a sync issue. I also tried turning sync off and on a few times and there is no error showing for the contacts sync option.
Other things I tried: disabled the contacts stock application and used a different one, erased cache, used a contacts sync fix application, nothing helped so far.
This one blew my mind: Exported all my contacts to vfc, they got imported to my google email on my phone, the phone ended up deleting some of my 360 contacts until I was down to 277. There are no contacts saved to the phone memory or sim card.
The other thing I am considering to try is to use a hammer...

All phone contacts vanished

I'm sorry if there was any mention of this problem before, but I wasn't able to find it.
But what happened this afternoon was kinda troubling. I've just bought my HTC Hero, two days ago. I've synced it with outlook with 700 something contacts. And all was fine. There was some trouble with syncing, but all contacts were transferred to phone memory.
When out of a blue, this afternoon, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and all contacts simply vanished. Calendar was still intact, txts as well, all fine but the contacts.
When I came home, I tried to sync it again but it just synced two calendar notes. It synced as if all contacts were on the phone, but they were not. So I've managed to restore them by over-riding phone with PC.
Can anyone explain this? How do I know this won't happen again?
I'm using Windows 7 and Outlook 2007 as well as the latest edition of HTC Sync.
(maybe relevant, maybe not, I've managed to hopefully resolve the before mentioned troublesome connection when syncing by manually installing drivers for Windows 7)
Thank you. I hope I was clear.
Probaby an obvious one but if you go into Contacts=>Menu=>View have you accidentally unchecked the set contacts you want to show ?
I'm having the same problem, but running Windows XP w/ Outlook 2007 instead.
First time was using stock ROM. One day all my contacts disappeared (phone and google contacts). The phone contacts I retrieved by forcing HTC Sync to overwrite my phone's data with my PC's. The google contacts I retrieved by doing a factory reset and setting up my google account again.
Then I installed MCR 2.6, and again my contacts disappeared, but this time only the phone contacts (the google contacts remained).
Has anyone else experienced this?
The same problem, twice.
Both time I had this problem when I sent a message.
I think this should be a problem of the ROM-version, and I hope the next ROM will fix it.
I've been trying to figure this out forever.
Every once in a while my phone contacts will vanish, but the Google contacts always remain.
I've tried turning off synchronization for Google contacts and it seems that my phone contacts have stopped vanishing for now. Has anyone faced a similar situation?
Simply migrate you contacts to google. Its very easy. Quite why anyone struggles with Outlook on Android is a mystery. I was Outlook mad pre the Hero, now everything is migrated to googlemail/google calendar/google contacts.
No USB connecting nonsense for updates, all over the air, 2 way sync. Much better than outlook ever was.

[Q] HELP - Major Sync Issues with Google Calender - Android 2.1 - Samsung Vibrant

I thought it would be a great idea to sync my work outlook account with Google calendar via Google sync on the desktop.
I synced my outlook to Google calendar just find until I realized that there is no option to select a sub calendar so it synced thousands of events from my outlook to my primary calendar in Google.
Since my Google calendar account is also synced with my phone, my phone now has thousands of events with out the ability to toggle them getting my personal and work calenders all in one.
I went into Google via web, and deleted ALL events and wiped everything clean. I wanted my phone to also be clean. When I synced my phone the changes did not reflect what I did on the web.
I forced synced for the past 8 hours, and turned the phone off twice since then.
I found that it is syncing but not removing the old events. I change the calendar name in the web and it also changes it on my phone. But it never removes all those thousands of events off my phone.
Another test revealed that if I add an event on my phone, it will sync to the web.
If I add an event it will sync to my phone.
If I delete an event on my phone, it will delete it off the web.
Here is the issue, if I delete an event off the web, it does not delete it off my phone.
How can I remove these thousands of entries on my phone now?
I cannot remove my Google account and re-sync because when I tried it said my only option is to factory reset which I prefer not to do.
Thanks.
Try to change your google account password on web. When your phone won't sync then remove that account and add a new account but you can still use the same account name. I hope I make sense.

Google contacts

Sorry if this is the forum for this. I finally transfered my phone contacts to google contacts. I went to vzw, exported to .csv, and imported to gmail. So far so good. I deleted mt contacts from my phone, and synced my google contacts. All good there. I accidentally deleted a couple of contacts off of my phone, but they are still in gmail. How do I get them back onto my phone. I know with backup assistant I can retrieve and resync them to the phone, but don't have the foggiest how to do it with gmail. Thanks for the help.
Menu/settings/accounts & sync
Q&A would of been better suited for general questions.

I tried that but it didn't add it back to the phone. I went back to gmail and it seems they were removed from there as well. Is that normal, if you remove it from the phone it also gets removed from gmail contacts list? How can I delete a contact from the phone without deleting it from gmail?
Login to gmail from your pc, you can choose which you want to sync or make a list.

no contacts

well im not having much luck with this new phone.lol. for some reason i cant get any contacts to appear... i can import them to the phone, they even sync with my google account and i can see them on my computer. but if i click on contacts on the phone theres nothing there. ive tried importing them as a csv, vcard and using sprite migrate.. they say theyve imported but nothing shows. wierd thing is my messages come up with the correct names just nothing in the contacts app.
well for anyone who gets a similar problem i finally fixed it by logging into my google account on a pc. moved the contacts into "my contacts" then wiped my phone back to standard, when i signed into my google account it then synced the contacts to my phone..

Haxsync and contacts, weird issue...

So I have haxsync on my phone so i can pull in Facebook Photos to my phone. I worked good till i recently got a nexus 7 v2 and installed haxsync on it. My contacts except for a handful got dumped off my phone when i installed haxsync on my tablet and synced it. For some reason i've always had issues since i got this phone and my contacts. I use hotmail and even when i create a contact on my phone, it will sometimes add the contact to my hotmail contacts and sometimes not. That goes along with editing the contact. Its highly frustrating as my windows phone and apple phones have synced flawlessly with my email contact. As my email contacts is the only place where my contacts are backed up.
