Anything new? How did it end up?
If you have a new phone, you can try as a first step factory reset, if anything is wrong. I did this with every my new Android device, not because there was anything wrong, but as prevention and first step in knowing and understanding my new device better.

help needed
same problem here.. any solution plz???

Redmi pro camera problem

Hi, I bought redmi pro a week ago . many reviews says that the camera is awesome . but after a week using this device I don't understand why sometimes the camera blur all the picture i've tried to switch to stereo mode but no changes . how do i fix this??
Sent from my Redmi Pro using Tapatalk
As per my experience, the camera is slow as hell to focus the first time if you don't tell it where to focus (e.g. tapping on the screen). I too had the same problems last week trying to catch a specific moment (totally blurred image)

redmi Pro is horrible
Hi, the camera of Xiaomi redmi Pro is horrible
Just purchased a redmi pro. Besides taking lousy pictures, many times when I snap a few pics they don't get saved. When this happens I need to reboot. Plenty of apps with flaws and no updates in insight. Plenty of software flaws with no updates or efforts by Xioami to resolve them. This is going to be my first and last Xiaomi phone.
What rom have you got?

Hi, I am also facing same problem

Should I get the Mi A1 over Asus Zenfone 3?

My needs:
- Good Camera, esp for indoor and low light use. Need a good manual mode. Portrait mode not important, need to shoot mostly landscape pics.
- Good build quality
- Long lasting battery (~1-2 days for light use)
- Light user, no gaming or other heavy apps
The camera of Mi A1 vs Zenfone 3:
- A1 = dual set up vs Zenfone = single 16MP camera
- A1 = no Laser autofocus, no OIS
- Zenfone 3 = Sony IMX 298 sensor (same as on on oneplus 3t), not sure about A1 sensor quality.
- Maximum shutter speed : 0.067s for A1 vs 32s for Zenfone 3
- Zenfone 3 has a full featured manual mode (more options for shutter speed, WB, ISO etc)
Zenfone 3 comes with a full glass back, and is now more than a year old. The price is half of the launch price. What would you advise. The mi A1 or the Zenfone 3?
go for the A1. some users of ZF3 are having camera issue like blur camera or not focusing.
The camera is not great you need full light. The dual camera is more of a marketing gimmick.
Battery is also not great but does well for the capacity.
For battery I recommend the Lenovo P2 although I have no info on the camera.

thanks for that info, I went thru the Asus forums and like you said, users have complained of camera focus issuing. Are ther any known issues in the Mi A1 that I need to be aware of?

thanks for confirming what i suspected about the camera on A1. Lenovo P2 was on my list, but its bigger and heavier than I need.

Both are 5.5" the size difference is minimal. Slightly thicker due to the monster 5100mAh battery
Expandable memory up to 256mb and HD video. The main drawback being that pesky Lenovo software but community is active on here.
If you take indoor photos, don't buy Mi A1. It has awful low light performance (and I mean awful. The pictures come out grainy. However it has slightly improved by Oreo update). The daylight photos come out amazing though! Landscape photos are amazing.
with google camera it's not bad at all

Yes, i know.. it is all about software... The hardware, as you see, it is capable to shot great pics in low light condition
@traianescu
thanks for the pics, I can see the big difference.

If you don't mind, can you post few comparison images? specially in low light. I'm curious.

Thanks! Zenfone 3 is better IMO. In A1, images are blurry but in Zenfone 3 images looks sharp and better.
You can get sharp images with the a1 but there is kind of stabilisation so it's hard and videos are better in zenfone 3 too, if you switch to night mode in the zenfone the Image is very bright and pretty clear but night mode on a1 does nothing lol

I had a Zenfone 2 Laser and man, how much I hated that phone. It has bloatware with takes a big part of the space and like a Custom ROM fan I am no one even cared for that device. So, I recommend any phone over Asus ones ^^

Is HDR+ enabled? The difference between the pictures is huge.
Yes, hdr activated on both cameras, to have a fair comparison..
The camera it is more than i need on the phone.. my complains are two other thing: it is huuuge, compared with my ex iphone 5s and i don't have a real fm radio app.. maybe when we will have the kernel source...

Pixel Camera

I tried installing Pixel camera app, on my Mi a1 but it just keeps getting stuck on the camera symbol, if not, a plain black screen. How can I get the pixel camera on my Mind a1?

Do you have HAL3 enabled?
EDIT: So I've installed the latest "Arnova's v6_beta15" and it works flawlessly, except slow motion. You can try flashing magisk through TWRP or follow a guide how to do it without root (I'm sure you'll find it, it was mentioned in XDA news at one point)

Replacing Mi A1 screen with Mi 5X?

My screen is full of cracks after a drop from 40cm. I'd like to replace it and found one, but it states that it is for Mi 5X. As far as I'm concerned Mi A1 and Mi 5X are the same phones (except bands and ROMS). Do you think it will work, or should I look for a Mi A1 screen? Thanks in advance!

You Need To Go Service Center And Local Electrical Market . Ask Them if they Replace Your MiA1 Screen on There Own Risk Then. Replace
I Think It's Not working Mi5x Screen On A1.

Hi there! I have checked eBay, and almost all of the LCDs are labelled "Mi A1/Mi 5X", so I'm 100% sure you can go ahead and buy a 5X one. Also, the two devices' hardware is literally the same (except for the storage, afaik). So there'll be no issues.

MI A1 with google app camera or MI A2 ?

actually i was about to buy mi a2 but after i heard about that xioami app camera is trash and with google app you get very impressive results
so now
is the improvement that googel app makes to mi a1 camera makes it worth buying over mi a2 ? espically mi a2 has no headphone jack and no sd card slot which makes me thinking over and over ... is there a huge difference btw mi a2 in camera that makes it worth buying or mi a1 with google app camera makes it slight difference ??
You can go for Redmi note 5 AI instead and use google camera with it, if Android One isn't mandatory.
Google camera is the best choice, Xiaomi stock camera app is trash, I mean, it's OK in good lightning condition, but in darker situations it is trash.
Go for Redmi Note 5, it is better choice than Mi A1 and it's newer. A2 is great too, don't know if someone made working Gcam for Mi A2, if yes then buy Mi A2, but it doesn't have 3.5mm jack if thats important to you
Or if Android One is the trick, check the Nokia lineup... definitely after the time Xiaomi took to release updates, plus the lack of support for GCam, my next phone will be a Nokia (I do want Android one, and they have a better track record for updates).

I thought about a nokia too but actually there's only one device that can be unlocked without a signature (key) binary and that's the nokia x6 (6.1 plus/sd630). Not sure about unofficial ways but nokia closed the doors via august OTA. Also it has a notch.
