My wife's Verizon Wireless Galaxy S7 failed to install a recent update. I tried it and it didn't update for me either. Here are the steps I took following the failed update.
1. After work I hooked it to the PC and Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant started and appeared to have worked until the phone rebooted. It hung at the Verizon Wireless logo screen for 20 minutes or so.
2. Wiped cache and rebooted. Same problem
3. Factory Reset and reboot. Same trouble
4. Downloaded firmware and flashed with Odin---it failed to flash. This was VW but not their latest firmware
5. Downloaded latest VW firmware and flashed with Odin--if failed to flash.
6. Upgraded to latest version of Odin and Flashed successfully
7. Rebooted phone to discover now it bootloops at the Samsung Galaxy S7 screen
At some point while in recovery I noticed this message at the bottom of the screen:
{

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(picture didn't post--here's what it said)
No Support SINGLE-SKU

dm-verity error...
When in download mode here is what the status of the phone shows:
(Again, picture didn't post--here's what it said)
Product Name: Sm-G930V
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
FRP Lock: On
Qualcomm secureboot: Enabled
AP SWREV: B4 (2, 1, 1, 1, 1 ) K1 S3
Secure Download: Enabled
Other websites have mentioned the possibility solving this issue with the use of Smart Switch or even Samsung Kies but both of these require the S/N of the phone and I don't have it and unlike other S7's this phone does not have the SN printed on the outside of the phone. I bought the phone used and it did not come with original box so no getting the SN from there. I didn't know until now that I might need the S/N so while I could have gotten the SN from inside the phone when it was working obviously that's no longer and option either.
Any help, thoughts or advice on how to get this S7 going again would be greatly appreciated!!
Problem Solved. It was as simple as downloading the version of Verizon software that was on the phone when the updated failed.

I buy my phone from samsung importer and I rooted him and try some costum roms till my phone got some problems like:It stopped outputting audio,for example I listen some music than I paused the player...minutes later I want to listen some music but my phone can't output audio,the only audio that he can output it's the notification and Incoming call.If I get a meesage or a call so I hear the notification/Incoming call sound.
Later if I try to lock my phone with the power button ,it sticks and I must to restart him.
One day later I try to charge my phone but with no success.
I give my phone to technical department belonging to samsung importer and they fix all problems by resetting to defaults.
Now I enter to download mode and current binary is samsung official but costum binary download is yes and 6 counts.
I want to know how to reset my phone to defaults and where I find this samsung official ?
Thanks.

I'm all LG guy, so appoligize in advance with stupid methods Samsung devices have to follow for the rom flashing/installation. I have flashed a number of Samsung Android phones in the past using Odin so I know how that works.
A friend of mine got his i9505 16-GB failing to boot while being stuck at Samsung Galaxy S4 logo screen. When I tried to put it into stock recovery so I may factory reset, it was always stuck at Blue text of Booting Recovery.
I followed word-by-word of this guide to flash a stock firmware from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
I even have the i9505 pit file from the downloads in the same guide above. I'm using Odin 3.07 and I have even used 3.09 and 3.10, all give me same results.
As PDA, I am using I9505XXUGNH8_I9505OJVFNG1_I9505XXUGNH8_HOME.tar (As his phone came with Saudi Arabia. Also, the phone was running stock firmware)
The process terminates at
Code:
Re-Partition Operation Failed
As PDA, I am using I9505XXUGNH8_I9505OJVFNG1_I9505XXUGNH8_HOME.tar (As his phone came with Saudi Arabia. Also, the phone was running stock firmware)
And on my phone screen, I get:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have used Original Samsung Cable, result is the same. I have used even my LG G2's USB Cable, result is still the same. Odin always fails after the "Re-Partition Operation Failed" Error.
If I try to flash it without pit file, it says "There is no PIT Partition".
If the not being able to boot happened suddenly, then it's probably a hardware failure.
Try installing Kies on your computer. It will install latest drivers. Then close Kies and Kies agent in your processes.
Use another USB port on your computer. Remove battery of your phone for 10s.
Then try again.
I had also the same warning so I doubt there's a hardware failure. If it were, you'd probably be unable to go into download mode.
Hello everyone.
Information:
Model - SM-J500F
My last ROM: Android 6.0.1 XEO for SM-J500F (XEO - Polish not branded). Updated from Android 5.1.1
I used Samsung Odin v3.12
Samsung Kies was disabled.
I had Samsung USB Drivers.
Phone is from Singapore (I live in Poland)
Android 6.0.1 ROM from SamMobile.
TWRP from LineageOSRoms
Antivirus was enabled.
Uploading through Download Mode.
Default bootloader in the phone.
And I have Logitech Options and SetPoint, I don't know whether it means something.
I have a very big problem with my phone. I wanted to update my ROM from Android 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 using Samsung Odin v3.12.. And I had no problem with it, everything worked perfectly. After it, I wanted to restore factory settings. I need to do it through the bootloader (no comment). And I did it (In 5 seconds, is it normal?). I rebooted my phone after it. The phone has stucked on Samsung loading logo. I tried to upload Android 6.0.1 again through Odin, and it failed. I thought after it: f*** it, I want LineageOS. I tried to install TWRP (by Odin ofc). The same as in second Android 6.0.1 upload. Stucked on SetupConnection. What can I do with it? Really, please help me, I don't want to lose this phone .
Thank you very much for the help.
Ask me if something is unknown.
If I made mistakes, sorry, I'm learning English.

If photo isn't visible, after SetupConnection stuck Odin shows an error.
Now everything works fine for me, Odin is just a strange programme and after 5 tries it worked.
flash firmware combination for your SM-J500F this firmware will help you then enter to download mode & flash an offciel Android 6.O.1 after flashing ...delet the battery and go to recovery & wipe data & cache partition
Hi,
I have the SM-G550T1 metropcs version. I unlocked it 1-1.5 years ago and moved it to t-mobile. I must have unchecked usb debugging or oem unlock recently by mistake while in the dev options menu and when I rebooted today the FRP lock was triggered.
I am posting in hopes that someone can reassure me of which files to flash to resolve this as painlessly as possible.
I have the following files from when I originally unlocked (and moved to tmobile) , rooted, and backed up the device:
A folder titled "StockROM - G550T1_PF1_Recovery(MetroPCS)"
a screenshot of it's contents:

}
A folder titled "2015-01-01--06-25-20_MMB29K.G550T1UVU1APF1"
it's contents:
I also have a ROM I downloaded tonight before I realized I didn't fully understand what I was doing and decided to reach out for assistance. The folder is titled "G550T1UVU1APF1_6.0.1_4File_TMK" and it's contents:
I downloaded odin3 v3.12 tonight and stopped there to seek advice.
I can't get into recovery mode, only download mode.
This is the information at the top left of the display when in download mode, if it is of any help:
ODIN MODE (i'm assuming because ODIN is connected currently?)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G550T1
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
SYSTEM STATUS: CUSTOM
FRP LOCK: ON
SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLED
WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0x0304)

It is 11pm EST here and I have to sleep for work tomorrow. I will have a couple hours to work on this at 7:30am EST and will be checking back then. Any help provided would be greatly appreciated. I have read through similar threads on this and other forums, but am worried I am missing something regarding which firmware to flash and what steps to take afterwards.
Thank you for your time.
can anyone help me?
Can anyone help me? please?
I suggest you comment on a thread
Look I'm not too familiar, but I think you should figure out the partitions and place them in their corresponding places..... but that would take forever
Hi everyone. While I was attempting to root my tablet I ran in to a problem. It turned out since I had updated to 8.1 it had an RMM state that's prenormal, which makes it impossible to root. I found a guide to use Miracle Box to downgrade it to 7.1 where I'd be able to root. However in this process when I saw Miracle Box was done I decided to unplug the tablet. Well it turns out the tablet was still loading it, so unplugging it caused an error. Now whenever it boots up I'm stuck on the error screen which says to use the emergency recovery mode on smart switch. Well, smart switch won't find my device. Neither will kies. I've tried downloading 2 different stock roms for my exact device and using odin to install them, but I get an error on odin and it fails. I have tried two different versions of odin too, 3.12 and 3.13.

I have no idea what else to do here to get my device back in usable state. Please help!

What error are you getting? There is no picture of your tablet or the error. Also did you try patched Odin? If SmartSwitch won't recognize it do you have the samsung USB drivers installed from here? https://developer.samsung.com/mobile/android-usb-driver.html
