Hi everyone. Im having a problem and im losing my mind and getting so confused that I have to ask you for help. I have a Huawei mate 8 nxt-l29 with software versión nxt-l29c900b156 and im not getting the update for nougat. I've read that its because my cust versión and that I should change it. Is there a way or can anyone guide me though with which software versión should I install? I dont know what else to do, everyone says to install different versions to get the official OTA. which one should I use and how can I do it? Thanks!!
there is a guide using dc phoenix but you pay 15 euros to install nougat you change region to debrend l29 version and after you get all the updates together first all marshmallow fixes and after all nougat versions from b560 to b582

Use SRK tools, see videos on how to do with that. All is available here. You will be able to do easily yourself.
For dual SIM and better battery and a few added functionalities, go for Chinese ROM. DL will be perfect. AL is for single SIM.

the thing is this. in the back of the phone the model is nxt-tl00 but the rom versión has been changed to nxt-l29c900b156, I think this is the international version, I dunno how they did that because the phone came factory sealed. so I have this versión that I think is Chinese with this european rom, that's why im a little confused, can I directly install another european versión that allow me to get the update directly? I will see later how to unlock the bootloader that I've read that I need to do it first to install any rom. thank you very much for replying

Process is same whether you convert to another European or to Chinese. And it does not make any difference if your printed model is TL and you change to another version..
To get updates, after changing the version, you need to factory reset, lock bootloader, and put Stock recovery again. In most cases, you will get this all by default once you change your version and then when you upgrade from MM to Nougat.

No Bro!
There is no final update for the 6.0 yet, all the updates are in BETA status, they may (and they do indeed) contain some bugs.
After updateing, you may end up with the "Balong" problem, and that means, you'll get no further updates, until you fix that.
The 6.0 doesn't have a lot of new features, at least the non-chinese ones. The difference between the 5.0 and 6.0 are insignificant. The chinese versions however have some nice features, like Yellow Pages, a few new Camera functions, etc...
Updating is only possible for your very region if the Huawei Customer Service in your country has done beta testing. If they don't, it means, there's no official 6.0 beta test ROM there, and you have to wait for the official ones.
In my opinion, there is no much sense updateing to the beta versions with this much difference, so I do not recommend to update.

Hello everyone!
I recently bought a Huawei P8 Lite, it came with Lollipop 5.0.1. The thing is I would like to update to 5.1 at least. For all the reasons we all know about, this is kind of a must. However my operator hasn't send me the OTA package nor could I found one in any Huawei website. So I mailed them about this a few days ago, and got no answer yet.
So anyone here went through the same/has a stock 5.1 rom for this model? I have also read that some people swapped to ALE-21 for the updates and stuff, but I dont wanna mess with the baseband, since those post are not always properly detailed about this stuff.
Any comment, info, post, link, whatever on this topic will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
You can find more info here. if you don't want to upgrade to Ale-L21 just use this as a guide (Chapter 4) but with your own stock rom file that you download from the huawei website.

So i looked up the problem that you had with converting. and i put a comparison in the thread. thx for pointing out something we didn't mention before
you can find the comparison here http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&id1=7978&id2=8162&id3=7966
the Ali-L21 supports more basebands the the ale l23 so that's all.
Seems like my only choice is to force an ale-21 single sim rom into my phone and try not to screw it in the process.. I dont understand why Huawei wont release a 5.1 update for .23 even if its the same as .21
Thank you a lot, I will follow the steps mentioned above and try some luck

Awesome, thank you! Getting ready to finally open up my phone today and request the bootloader unlock by calling Huawei as @Tkkg1994 suggested. Going to install TWRP and root (the big thing I was waiting for - once you root, it's hard to go back to stock, lol). I hope we get xposed soon...I read in the recent xda article that it's almost there for Nougat.

I am a complete newbie in this so I have a question:
my unit is model mha-al00 ...its bought in china.
my question is, is it possible to flash it with south east asian firmware I.e. singaporean firmware, and if so, which firmware number is that and is it available on Duaraa server?
if not, then if I flash with european firmware, will all functionality and software features of the phone work without problem?
thanks and sorry if I asked stupid questions.

one more question, is there such thing as international firmware? is that the same as european firmware?

so by flashing non chinese firmware, can someone confirm that app twin will allow using double whatsapp account instead of wechat?

Yes, European firmware is basically international firmware. It's actually updated more quickly than south asia region firmware. You should try and flash it and see if you like it. Basically, the firmware is all either Chinese or non-Chinese. The non-Chinese firmwares are more or less the same.
You will lose some functionality here and there. Themes will not work any more, for example. Your biggest gain will be better google integration. Please try it and see. Should you want to, you can always flash back to Chinese firmware afterwards.
App twin will not work with WhatsApp unless you unlock your bootloader and flash a non-Chinese oeminfo. I have done that, but you need to get the unlock code from Huawei.
Since I'm on MHA-L29 C636b110 South Asian firmware and want to be up to date:
1) Should I just change my dns to your recommended dns in the B126 thread as @alexhee did and update via OTA before unlocking my bootloader and proceeding to install twrp and root?
OR
2) Should I use this thread's method, permanently change my oeminfo to non-chinese C432, update to latest B126 via OTA, unlock my bootloader, and proceed to install twrp and root?
**Should my bootloader be unlocked before any of the two methods above?**
Really appreciate any help and advice on BEST method to keep all functionality.

Ok will do, thanks. So, it's better to change my oeminfo by doing your FunkyHuawei method as opposed to changing the DNS on the router and downloading the B126 OTA via system update as @alexhee did? http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/ota-b126-available-france-t3514682/page3

As I understand until now, you only support Chinese and European phone version, and convert the firmware between this two, right?
So if I have C185B110, I can't flash with your method?

You should be able to flash any of the European firmwares using the HiSuite method. eRecovery method will not work unless I customize a version for your phone.

If you're going to change oeminfo, my FunkyHuawei method will be a portion of what you do, but you'll also need BL unlock and TWRP to completely change oeminfo. Basically, what you should do is PM me for more information once your BL is unlocked, and I'll walk you through it step by step because it's a delicate process and I don't want you to get a brick.

This is where things get a little bit complicated. We use HiSuite to install non-authorized ROMs. For example, betas, or other ROMs that Huawei does not want people to install. From FunkyHuawei, you will see a link of a tool to download. You must download this tool if you wish to use the HiSuite installation method.

How do I know which firmware is the latest ??
I have the duo sim EU version.
With yesterday the OTA 126 downloaded...
I saw on YouTube a 135 firmware..?
Thanx!!
Installation error (CHINA-TO-EURO)
I've set DNS correctly (verified by successfully getting to www dot funky huawei dot com. I requested the CHINA-TO-EURO firmware (and got "request successful), entered eRecovery on the phone, and went to download. As expected, firmware name was "FunkyHuawei". It gets all the way through the download process, but then at about 81% of installation, I get "Recovery failed" with an exclamation mark.
My phone is a MHA-AL00 running Chinese firmware.
Any ideas?
Does your tool supports the huawei mate 9 pro?
Hello,
I need help !!!
I just bought ZTE axon 7 and I didn't know it was the chinese version. Did someone has the Chinese version too ? If yes, can you tell me if you have problem with this version ?
Have you upgrade to Android 7.1 Nougat ?
Also I don't have "updates" on the phone's Settings menu, is it the same for you ? And do you have a solution?
Thank you in advance.

You know, you can use Google...
A bunch of people have the chinese version... why would they have problems? It obviously has less bands than the US version but you should tale that for granted
You can upgrade to Nougat, just be sure that the OS version is A2017v1.x.xBXX (Not A2017G or A2017U). If it says one of the two other models then you have to follow the instructions given on one of the thousand other posts of guys like you that don't even care to read.

Since I'm an android developer I need to have multiple os if possible.Has anyone tried this Or any better one?Can I use it in this case?

So I'll go to marshmelo of my region and then rebrand and then install oero the only question left is in the process of rebranding do I need any network connection or it's offline?I don't have stable network and I'm afraid terrible things happen.

I have the firmware finder it found no FULL OTA from marshmelo the first full ota is for nougat.
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...2227/f2/full/hw/eu/update_data_full_hw_eu.zip
The links from hicloud says that the files have been deleted.
I don't have a reliable internet connection I rather download zip files then update because I don't want in the middle of the operation things go wrong that's why I didn't try HiSuite.Any live link would be appreciated.
I found NXT-L29BC185B200 live link right now. It's android 6.0.1 I'll go for it tnx.

I download B200 tried to install via dload failed said (incompatiblity with current version ) tried with twrp failed. And I wiped my OS and tried again and failed. And lost my OS.Sort of now it shows me android logo instead of huawie logo and it's stuck on the initial setup of nougat.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/guide-how-to-downgrade-mate-8-emui-5-to-t3515202
I found this and it says the nougat version must be b500 but mine was b560 and tried to install the rollback and it failed again.I don't know what to do?I need my phone.
Couldn't find any download link of b500 did you do that on your b500 or b560?
If b500 please give me a link of NXT-L29C185B500
Tried again and it didn't give me error this time the point is that it doesn't run on B500 it makes your device B500!
After installing marshmellow the bootloader is locked again!
